Cheese Pull of Lobster Mac & Cheese
    Cassie C.

GREAT EATS IN THE POCONOS AT NYC PRICES So I gave them 5 stars on the strength of their Lobster Mac & Cheese. The Mac is made from a wonderful bechamel sauce that served as the perfect base for the 3-4 cheeses used in this dish. They were pretty generous with the amount of lobster as they should for that price point. And yes, they are actually using chopped up lobster tail for this dish. It was so good that I'm already planning my next trip back. Other details... 1) Crispy Calamari was a good appetizer to share between max 2 people. The same applies for the Fire Shrimp. 2) If you're a fan of eggplant, good for the Eggplant Stack. Add on the linguine to make it a whole meal. 3) Try the Black Jack if you're feeling snackish. It's a small amount of food with a small amount of flavor. 4) Chicken Parm Ricotta definitely is an elevated American classic. It is also a pretty big portion with great flavor. 5) Expect a high bill but solid service which makes an overall very good dining experience because the food is worth it.

This place was considered one of the nicer restaurants in the area (as opposed to us going to a bar) and the vibe was great for a Friday night. Our server was the absolute best. He helped us with dining suggestions and was a pretty funny guy. I am an old-fashioned cocktail gal but the one I had here that was jazzed up w/ passion fruit I think did not hit. I'd say go with a traditional old-fashioned if you come here for a drink. The Mac and cheese slapped. It was so cheesy and delish. Also the calamari appetizer was a hit with the table, very crispy but not overdone. I'm not a big eggplant fan but I heard the eggplant parm was good. And for my main I got the steak medallions. It was okay but I think I should have went with a seafood option. Overall a good vibe for date night (in the area). Be warned it is a bit pricey for the area.

I have been back three different times since my last review. Each with a different member of their wait staff -- oddly enough, it's been the same bartender though. So, my drinks have been stellar each time. The most recent visit was with a party of 14. We came for a vendor/work dinner. We called in around noon and made the reservation for 7pm. Upon arrival, we were told we couldn't be seated due to policy until the entire party has arrived. I'm somewhat unclear on why restaurants do this --- maybe so everyone has the same timing and experience from start to finish. It makes sense to someone somewhere i'm sure. However, after working all day long -- and having people driving in from 2+ hours away --- we wanted to sit down right away. So, to the hostess -- i'm sorry via the internet if i was a little demanding that we be seated -- because we didn't want to stand up in the lobby. Onto the service, i don't recall either of their names but we had a very nice gentleman who explained the menu to all of our diners from start to finish -- made a few recommendations, and was very attentive to our questions. His parter was also very receptive to the tons of questions thoughout our table being thrown her way. The food was very good again -- calamari was great, lobster mac was tasty, but what really got me this time was the crab cake -- it was phenomenal. Some people complained about their meat not having any seasoning to it -- tasted like it wasn't even salt or peppered.... but mine was just the way i liked it. Rare and with some salt. It is unfortunate that I will likely not be back -- due to my job ending and me heading back home. But this is a must try place for anyone in the area.

Get the filet mignon. Super delicious and melt in your mouth. The stars are for that and the garlic butter. The burrata was pretty good as well. The carrot side was not good. You get like 6 mini black carrots that weren't appeasing or tasty. Their truffle fries were crisp and good. Their shrimp tortellini, which we subbed out chicken came out fine initially but ended up being greasy and oily. Their molten chocolate cake was rich and flavorful. I would get that again. I would come back but would change my order based on what we've already had.

The place is amazing, food is very delicious, I would recommend the shrimp Pasta better. It's a big plate, me and my husband shared it. We also had garlic fries it's delicious. The servers are all nice and place is good.

Amazing dinner experience from drinks, salads to entrees and wine. Emily was wonderful with helping us on our food choices and on things to see in the area. The ricotta arugula salad was so different but yummy and fresh and the chicken parm ricotta was delicious. My husband enjoyed his Caesar salad and the calamari fra Diablo was deliciously spicy! The negroni was really good too! Excellent evening!

Rating: 3.5 stars We were visiting Poconos and wanted to get together with a local friend for dinner. After did some search roughly on Yelp, this place caught my eye because there is another restaurant also called Garlic in Vermont which is where we often go to when we visit Killington so we decided to try it. The restaurant is right next to the main street and it looks fancy inside. They served a basket of complimentary bread with butter garlic which was pretty good. We ordered some special cocktails and entrees. Our server was very friendly and attentive and would keep checking in on us to see if we needed anything. Most food was good but they were not worth the price. Also the portion was small. However this place is definitely good for special occasions and if you don't mind an expensive bill then you should go try.

Our server was super sweet. I wish I remembered her name but Saturday night , they were fairly busy and she was nice. We ordered the mystery cocktail and a Negroni, the mystery cocktail was basically just lemonade but it was fine. We placed our appetizer orders and waited a bit, then placed entree orders. Our entrees came out but we never got our apps. Our server was just as confused as we were. We told her to hold off on the apps we may not want them now that we already had our meals, she was super sweet about it. 2 minutes later our apps came to the table. Again - she was just as confused as us. They were gracious enough to remove the apps from our tab because we couldn't take them to go as we're staying in a hotel. There was clearly a breakdown in communication somewhere . Chicken parm was delicious, lobster ravioli wasn't worth the price. The fire shrimp was good. Overall, food is okay, ambiance is nice, we may have just had an odd first experience but if we go back it will be because our server was so genuine & kind about the whole thing.

Nice and cozy decor. stopped in for dinner on our way to PA. Started with the burrata salad and ordered the Ahi tuna and fried rice, and surf and turf special for our main meals. Tuna and rice were really good( tuna was over-seared but not to a point that I would be disappointed), and the steak and lobster were ok. Ended the meal with a donut cheesecake. staff was pleasant and accommodating. We sat outside but it got really hot and they moved us in. They have surprise drinks on Monday and you pick your spirit and they make you a surprise mix. A little pricy for what you get but overall good experience.

Words can not express the sheer bliss of enjoying my apple pie martini special and our multiple appetizers we shared. This place is absolutely perfection. The bacon wrapped scallops with Thai chili sauce and cucumber were scrumptious. My eggplant stack is somewhat of a comfort food for me because I enjoy my eggplant. This was NEXT level! My friend ordered the lobster Mac n cheese & I tried a bite ~ causing a mini (ahem, mouth explosion).... Everything was so so good. We could not have expected more!

10/10 from the time we walked in to dessert. Our food was slow for a Monday night but everything was amazing. Walking in it's like being transported to a high end restaurant in NYC or LA. Definitely on my list if we return to the area.

Love the atmosphere of this place and our waitress and host were great! We had the calamari appetizer, Cajun shrimp tortellini, and chicken parm ricotta. The calamari and shrimp were good, the chicken parm tomato sauce was a little sweet for my liking. The prices were a little high.

The host was a little unusual, in that we walked in, and he just stared at us and kind of shook his head like he was waiting for me to speak. Most generally a host will ask you how you are, and how many in your party. I had to say hello and let HIM know how many were in my party. Just a little odd. The server was extremely friendly and informative about the popular dishes there. She checked on us often. There were other servers as well that kept us filled on our complimentary rolls and refills. The atmosphere was quiet and nice. Would highly recommend the cheese ravioli. The red sauce was amazing. No picture. Was too busy eating! Had the homemade hummus for an appetizer which was very good. My dining partners had the shrimp ceviche and scallops which they enjoyed immensely.

Walking through the doors we felt immediately at home. The atmosphere is warm, charming and genuinely inviting it strikes a raw violence between cozy and elevated what I call an upscale, mom and pop spot, especially since the owners are hands-on present, and it surely shows in the care they put into the place. The staff was just as personable. Our server was not only attentive, but took the time to chat with us about the area and even gave us a couple laughs with some stories of the locals. This is truly a place for travelers and the community. We didn't order full entrées this time just a basic chicken sandwich and a burger, which were decent, but not particularly memorable. unfortunately I don't feel like we got the full picture of what the kitchen can do, especially watching the steaming stromboli walk past our table. After reading other reviews, I feel like we lost out by not ordering one of those famous pizzas or well-thought-out entrées. That said I don't think it would be fair to judge this place based entirely on our simple sandwiches. What I will base this review on is not just the meal but the atmosphere and hospitality. Cherry Creek Hideaway is the place that makes you want to come back and stay a little longer. Next time for a proper dinner for sure. So if you were in the area and looking for a spot with heart charm and a welcoming feeling like you're a regular even if it's your first time, Cherry Creek Hideaway is worth a visit. The restaurant felt very welcoming. My husband ordered a pizza half with pepperoni and half with just cheese, we both thought it was too doughy for our taste, and I ordered an original calzone. It was delicious, tastes like a huge garlic knot, filled with garlic, the only downfall was that it needed at least another scoop of the ricotta cheese mixture. I would definitely buy that again and ask for extra filling. When our order was ready, the only thing that gets us, is when asked if we want to leave a tip, a tip for what??? All the girl did was take our order and give it to us. Made us feel obligated. If I knew we had to give a tip, we would have just eaten there. Over all , we will try the place again on another dish, not the pizza. The do have a nice pavilion behind the restaurant for shows, which seems to be a nice addition.
