He went back and forth as to a diagnostic fee i was not informed until after my car was in their possession, a few he went back and forth on whether I would be charged. He was unable to figure out what was wrong with my car, but if i wanted to wait 3 to 4 weeks, he could maybe find the time to figure out what the issue was.In the end, I paid for nothing, with even the dealership I purchased the car from not understanding why I was charged the fee for zero service. I highly recommend you look elsewhere for your mechanical needs. This is not the place.

Now I have to give massive kudos to this awesome Lakewood gas station which is not only shiny and new but has free air for anybody. That's one of the coolest things I've ever heard. Nobody gives free air - these guys do. It was a godsend on this particular night, as I had a slow leak. I was impressed and happy about it. So this was where I ended up changing my tire and it took about three hours (1am-4am) and other than an Ashton Kutcher look alike who popped in to put free air in his tire there was never a point where anybody bothered me or hit me up for anything - so it's definitely in a safe area. I think I saw more cops out here than regular cars. The tire changing was a nightmare, but the gas station was awesome. It's well-lit even when it's closed. I guess that's my only complaint is that they close late at night - but other than that it's the perfect gas station.

There are really no "wow" snacks or anything at the gas station. The sandwiches and salads sold here are not tasty at all. Just the basics. The service is not good. I would say it's pretty dismissive. I don't enjoy interacting with the staff here at all and avoid going in as much as possible. And since my car was due for an oil change anyways, I decided I'd try out Detroit Automotive. Your typical car care center inside a gas station, the girl at the front desk was friendly. She said everyone just went on lunch so it could be awhile, no biggie, my parents lived literally a mile away so I just walked there. An hour later, the car was ready. Standard oil change, car check up stuff, it was free so I can't comment on the prices. But what really surprised me was the fact that they did a follow up phone call which I felt was above and beyond because for all they knew, I was just a girl with a gift certificate and never coming back. If I wasn't trying to learn how to take care of my car myself, I totally would!

There's one guy who almost always happens to be there and he cheerfully helps me add air to my tires without a scowl. It's great because despite being taught a zillion times how to add air to my tires, I still can't get it. This time, my tire pressure gauge was malfunctioning. Ugh. Anyway, the air is free, and the staff is great. I usually try to buy something from their convenience store in return as a thanks. The only reason it gets one star off is I would love to buy gas from them since it's super close by, but the prices are usually some 25-30c more expensive per gallon than other places nearby.
