I went down for a doctor's visit I went through the waiting room got into the exam room and then when the caregiver comes in they didn't know who I was or why I was there or anything about me? There was another time I was in the waiting room for over half an hour and then they didn't know why? So I left. My experience here has not been good.had a female Dr called DR Longfellow sass me she was very rude and another female Dr out of place and mine had me come in for appointment at nine was still waiting at almost eleven and had taxi driver waiting out in parking lot had to just give up and leave and it had happened twice where I had to give up and leave it doesn't seem to be run very well they never call with test results it's not that well managed I think they need a social worker to help them manage more efficiently and take pride in themselves I really don't get the feeling that they. I've been coming here for years. The quality of care has changed dramatically. I've had a severe new onset of back pain. It took me 2 days to see someone. When I did she never touched me except for takin my vitals and was diagnosed a pinched nerve. She said that someone would call Friday or Monday to set up an appointment for OMT. Nobody called. I called several times and left messages. On Tuesday I finally spoke with the ma brittney. Who assured me she would speak to the dr and call me right back. Never did. I've explained that my back is getting worse every day. With no avail. Pathetic. If it was them suffering something would be done immediately. read more

This is the worst family medical practice on the planet. You would be far better off finding a Voodoo Priest or possibly a witch doctor than go here. Without going into details, suffice to say I have terminal cancer. These people left me sitting in a tiny exam room for almost an hour. My adult daughter recently came to live with me in Maine. She transferred care to Dr Rick Marden at Gardiner Family Medicine because he was accepting new patients. She is a terminal patient waiting to have her first Palliative Care appointment tommorow. She had her first appointment last Wednesday. We sent records to the office and told him what she was on for medicine. He said he would reorder medicines for her. When we picked up her prescriptions that night we realized that the dosages and times were different from what she had been taking. We called the office on Thursday and Friday only to be told that he wasn't ordering any more medicine for her. We finally found out from the pharmacy that because of the way he had ordered it, they could only fill 21 pills. 21 pills would only last her until Monday and not the week as we had hoped. We called the office monday and tried to explain. The nurse said she would write it down word for word and write urgent on it for the Dr. She said she would call when it had been called in to the pharmacy. No one called. We called back at the end of the day, again, and were told that he just looked at it and couldn't write the order because his medical assistant had gone home. What does that even mean? He last dose of an opioid pain medication was taken at 130pm on Monday. We went to the Agusta Emergency room at 7pm, hoping they could help us. No one was screened at the door for COVID. The place was packed wiht people complaining that they had been there for over 6 hours and hadn't been seen. Chairs were not 6 feet apart. We waited an hour and were not seen so we left. My daughter was too uncomfortable to sit any longer. This morning she is in full blown opioid withdrawal and suffered through a night of pain. She was told yesterday by the nurse that they didnt have an on call doctor so we never tried that route. This morning I called the office early to leave a message and there was an option for an oncall doc to call me back. I spoke to the answering service and gave my story to her. She said that the on cal doc woulld call me right back. It has been an hour and no one has called me back! The office is now about to open and I anticipate a long wait until I get a real person on the phone to explain this all over again. As it happens I always wait until the last moment to seek medical care which usually means I'm a walk in. The receptionists at Gardiner Family always get me seen either within hours or a few days. I have seen many of the staff Practitioners there and am very grateful for their help and compassion. The nurses have been very kind and helpful too. I've been coming here for a couple years without any problems. Recently however I started having problems with my stomach so called to make an appointment. Called at the end of May and was given an appointment for August. Not impressed with that, but my stomach pain, etc. wasn't unbearable. Meanwhile (end of June) I got a bad cold and cough, and went to Urgent Care. Because my stomach symptoms had gotten so much worse they ordered labs. Blood work showed my hemoglobin was 9.3, my iron level was 8. Urgent Care told me to call first thing the next day to get some IV iron treatments scheduled. Called the office the next morning (June 26th) to get an appointment with my PCP (Dr. Joanna Rulf, MD, DO) and was told they wouldn't see me until July 17th. Wouldn't even order any tests to rule out bleeding. I had to get Patient Advocate involved to get an earlier appointment. Saw her July 7th which was quite useless. Finally she agreed (July 15th) to order the IV iron, because I insisted. It's almost as if it's a control thing with her now. Said she'd send the order for iron over when I saw her that day, also an expedited colonoscopy and upper endoscopy. She didn't. The Infusion Clinic finally got the orders. The Gastroenterology Dept still hasn't received orders. I'm getting another provider, not in the practice. I'm horrified at her lack of action. My health insurance company was as well, and they are going to contact her too. read more

Dr. Adam Liegner of Gardiner Family Health has a GOD Complex and intentionally falsified my medical records listing a symptom as a diagnosis, causing potential to damage me. I initially thought it was an innocent error, but when I brought it to his attention and requested it be corrected- he refused and brazenly admitted IN WRITING he intentionally used the wrong diagnosis code in order to justify an MRI was necessary so insurance would cover the cost. When I insisted he correct my medical record he used scare tactics to intimidate me by accusing me of falsifying symptoms to get a free test and further accusing me (AGAIN IN WRITING) of committing insurance fraud. I reported Leigner to Maine General Hospital which employs him and at first they said they could not help- but after consulting my attorney and threatening them with legal action the hospital's medical director reviewed my records and agreed Leigner's diagnosis had no validity. The hospital's Medical Director over-rued Liegner and corrected my medical records- but Leigner was not held accountable by the hospital. By being made aware of Liegner's intentional malpractice against me yet continuing to allow him to treate patients without any consequence for his intentional & deplorable actions- the hospital is now complicit. It took me an aggravating 6 weeks to resolve this and all I got for my trouble was them removing a diagnosis that never should have been in my medical records in the first place. Adam Liegner should be BARRED from practicing medicine EVERYWHERE. A claim against Liegner is currently pending with the Maine State Board of Medical Licensure. read more

I cannot imagine a more pompous obnoxious physician than Dr. Walls. Not to mention that their nurse made two errors simply re-ordering my three medications; that's a pretty poor average. I quickly became determined to find a more competent practice. read more

I have been coming to this doctors office for 10 years now and today I had the worst experience I have ever had here. I usually see somebody else but he wasn't available today so they placed me with Kara Spooner. I wanted to get seen because I have been experiencing flu symptoms for a few days now. She was friendly, however she made me feel extremely self conciuous when she began talking about my rapid weight gain. Something that I am obviously very aware of..? Mind you, I have never met this doctor before nor does she know anything about me (besides what is on my chart history) or why and how this happened. She told me I need to exercise,etc and she found different ways to bring up my "rapid weight gain" in several different conversations. I understand that it is her job to advise me to live a healthy life, but she should have used a different approach and different wording. I did not come in to talk about my weight. I have had conversations with plenty of other doctors about my weight and lifestyle and never once felt attacked, judged, or just plain bad about myself. She also had me take a couple tests which I wasn't able to stay for results, so she called me later in the day and left my personal results on my voicemail which I do not find appropriate. I left in tears and I will NEVER come back here again. read more

Here is my honest opinion about Gardiner Family Practice. They see you when they are ready to see you. When I have a Medical issue I expect to be seen not a Week later when they feel like seeing me. What is the point of having a primary care physician when you can not get care when you need it or at least be looked at by somebody to get an honest medical opinion before it gets worst? I am not going to describe my medical problem here because they would know who I am and the problem would get worst. They run their office for their own benefit and paycheck. Are they any good as compared to another similar office, what do you think? When you ask to have your prescription refilled, do they do it? When the pharmacy calls them for refills, do they do it? This office only exist because they need jobs. So if they are so bad why not go to another office? I have, their medical care is Subpar as compared to another office. I am writing this because it is our duty to warn people about these things and if you see more complaints about this office you will know that the complaints are valid and that they may have to shut down, if it gets real bad.
