I went because I'm in perimenopause and have gained 10-12 lbs in the past year. It does't sound like a lot but I'm small, only 4'11", so 12 lbs is a lot, especially considering I work out 6 days a week and follow a very healthy diet. Having tried nutritionists and personal trainers, I was just looking for some medical guidance and, yes, meds if necessary. They put me on testosterone and I trusted them that it would do the trick. After just eight weeks I GAINED SEVEN POUNDS. 1.5 was muscle but oh my lord. I almost died right there in the office looking at that scale. On top of the weight gain, the other side effects were horrid, some irreversible. I have a history of Graves disease so when the NP I was working with suggested thyroid meds I agreed but was skeptical. After sleeping on it I decided to cancel everything. They tried to convince me to stick with it and they'd revamp the dosage, but I finally broke down and said it was beginning to effect my mental health. With that, the office manager quickly agreed to terminate the contract and I appreciated that she didn't push it any further. I've recently started over with an endocrinologist, who was FLOORED by my lab results saying first that my testosterone was fine from the start and the amount I was taking was "what people transitioning take." Please, do yourself a favor and talk to your GP and/or GYN before going to this or any other that messes with hormones. I'm out about $2000 with all the meds, vitamins, and blood work that wasn't covered by my insurance and am worse off physically now than I was before. It was a waste of time and money and the experience set me back a year in my health goals.

This is not an easy task to find adequate words to describe what Dr. Marc Colton has done for me -…read morefor my health, my well-being, my life. It all started in the ER where I was admitted with acute urinary retention. The degree of retention was critical and the heavy urinary bleeding would not even allow for a functional cystoscopy observation. A catheter could not be installed to relieve the bladder. Dr. Colton performed a complex emergency operation to resolve the immediate aspects of the situation and managed to install a supra-pubic catheter to prevent this kind of emergency from happening. His professional confidence, medical mastery and genuine care were unprecedented. I have been around enough time and have seen enough doctors, including urologists, to identify and fully appreciate it. During the following 18 weeks I was seeing Dr. Colton in his office. My problems were BPH with the prostate of "enormous size" (his words) and a very weak and flabby bladder. He decided to give my bladder a rest by regularly changing supra-pubic catheters and finally scheduled a Greenlight TURP laser surgery for me. By that time I knew that Dr. Colton was one of the very first and very best urologists in this country who performed and perfected this surgical procedure that has become so important for so many men. The surgery went amazingly well with excellent results. I did not expect it, but soon after the operation I became a normal, healthy person who does not need to be catheterized in order to empty the bladder. My life got literally reopened for me again with all my beloved activities. I could breath deeply and freely again. I am alive and I am free. This says it all. And this is all thanks to the brilliant surgeon and incredible man, Dr. Colton. As a surgeon, he is boldly decisive and, at the same time, scrupulously attentive to every single detail of the procedure he performs. As a person, he is warm, caring and always supportive. For me Dr. Colton is a brilliant doctor who gave me my life back.

About 6 months ago, I went to the Garden State Urology, which has this address. I don't know if…read morethey changed their name to Morristown Urology Associates, who knows who cares. Garden State Urology gave me the worst service I have ever received from any doctor, ever. I specifically started going to a urologist because I am really prone to getting UTIs. This urologist promised that they would cure me of this. It sounded nice, and actually was nice for a few months. They prescribed me with a 3 month, low dose antibiotic. It worked, but as soon as the three months finished, I got a UTI again so I went back to get another antibiotic. At this point, the doctor told me I don't have a UTI and he sent me away. A few days later of painful urination, I went back. The new doctor rudely and impatiently told me that I have imaginary symptoms and that if I wait it out, the symptoms will go away. He also told me that I've never had a UTI in my life. Then, he just abruptly walked out of the room. A few more days later, I was crying as I peed because it was so painful, so I went to the hospital. The doctor at the hospital came into my room and told me that I had a very serious UTI and I needed to take antibiotics right away. A week later, the Garden State Urology called me up and told me "Oh, actually, you do have a UTI. Would you like to come in and discuss this?" No, thank you. If I didn't go to the hospital, that UTI probably would've killed me. I recommend Garden State Urology to no one. They have one job: help patients with urinary care: and they fail miserably at it. Customer service is mediocre, doctor care is negligent. I would say that they should be shut down, but considering they have a different name on Yelp than they did 6 months ago, maybe they already shut down. Don't come here.
