This is not an easy task to find adequate words to describe what Dr. Marc Colton has done for me -…read morefor my health, my well-being, my life. It all started in the ER where I was admitted with acute urinary retention. The degree of retention was critical and the heavy urinary bleeding would not even allow for a functional cystoscopy observation. A catheter could not be installed to relieve the bladder. Dr. Colton performed a complex emergency operation to resolve the immediate aspects of the situation and managed to install a supra-pubic catheter to prevent this kind of emergency from happening. His professional confidence, medical mastery and genuine care were unprecedented. I have been around enough time and have seen enough doctors, including urologists, to identify and fully appreciate it. During the following 18 weeks I was seeing Dr. Colton in his office. My problems were BPH with the prostate of "enormous size" (his words) and a very weak and flabby bladder. He decided to give my bladder a rest by regularly changing supra-pubic catheters and finally scheduled a Greenlight TURP laser surgery for me. By that time I knew that Dr. Colton was one of the very first and very best urologists in this country who performed and perfected this surgical procedure that has become so important for so many men. The surgery went amazingly well with excellent results. I did not expect it, but soon after the operation I became a normal, healthy person who does not need to be catheterized in order to empty the bladder. My life got literally reopened for me again with all my beloved activities. I could breath deeply and freely again. I am alive and I am free. This says it all. And this is all thanks to the brilliant surgeon and incredible man, Dr. Colton. As a surgeon, he is boldly decisive and, at the same time, scrupulously attentive to every single detail of the procedure he performs. As a person, he is warm, caring and always supportive. For me Dr. Colton is a brilliant doctor who gave me my life back.

I do not recommend Dr. Stock because he has no compassion, common courtesy and decency. I had an…read more8PM appt for my 18 month old son. I chose him because he had evening hours and was in the plan. Dr refused to see my son once he learned that I had United Healthcare NJ Familycare plan even though his office was listed in the provider directory and I had faxed the paperwork prior to the appointment. I also had traveled from my office in Englewood Cliffs, all the way to where I live in Newton to pick up my son, and drove to Denville to make the 8pm appointment. That's 2 hours of driving. Receptionist said I had to go to West Paterson office - which was NOT listed in the United Healthcare directory. I then told receptionist I was willing to pay $325 visit with credit card instead because I was already there. It was for a penile adhesion which according to the pediatrician was relatively minor but said a urologist can tell me for sure. I told receptionist I can make the next appt. at West Paterson office if surgery was needed. Receptionist was nice and went in again to tell the doctor. She came out and said No that he doesnt want to take my money because it is illegal for him to accept my money if I have NJcare. I have never heard of that reason before. I called United Healthcare to send a complaint and asked the operator if Dr. Stock's reason was accurate. She said she's not really sure if that reason is valid or not. My guess is its all about small money/insurance caps reimbursement from NJcare. Based on my limited research, doctors/specialists who sign up with health insurance companies are given a certain amount of money/cap to accept patients upfront. Once that money runs out that is it until the next negotiation. And I think this is why some doctors say "not accepting new patients" because they have used up all the upfront cap money. This is based on what an insurance billing manager told me for a different doctor appointment in the past. So for NJ Family care and Medicaid / Medicare, the upfront money cap is even smaller. So I am speculating this is part of the reason Dr. Stock didn't want to see my son once I said that I would just make another appointment in the West Paterson office for the 2nd visit. But lets just say his reason was valid and legal, fine. I wouldn't be so angry if Doctor Stock had the decency and common courtesy to come out of the office & say I'm sorry we can't take you because etc.etc. He had no more patients in the office by the way. Instead he refused to come out and let the poor receptionist pass the message back and forth to me. This doctor has NO COMPASSION . I do not recommend him at all. The only one I can recommend is the receptionist who was very friendly, understanding and reciprocal. She did her best to help me out.

In conversations before the bris, I knew that my friend was nervous about the process, the ceremony, and the actual circumcision. I can say with confidence that Dr. Rumbak put the family's mind at ease both with her expertise and her gentle approach. As a "spectator" at the ceremony, Dr. Rumbak passed around sheets so we can all follow along and feel part of the ceremony, and explained what different blessings meant. She also added some Jewish text in a modern and relevant way, which I appreciated, and my family continued to discuss post ceremony. The sweet baby did super well and was calm throughout the entire process. Truthfully, I didn't even know when the actual circumcision actually happened because she was so gentle and discrete. At the end of the ceremony, many people went up to Dr. Rumbak to compliment her on one of the best brit mila's they ever went to, and many asked for her card (including my mom for our temple!). She has a great business partner in Shachar, who socialized with the guests of the ceremony, kept everything organized, and was just an all around stand up guy. Oh, and how great that she is a mohel AND a doctor. Talk about putting your mind at ease..that will definitely do it. Highly recommend.

Would have loved so much to give a glowing review of Dr. Rumbak but unfortunately we look back on…read morethe day of my son's bris and what transpired after with a lot of sadness. Dr. Rumbak deserves credit and thanks for her discretion in not circumcising our son the day of his bris due to a urological condition she noticed in her ore-ceremony examination. We are thankful for that. She performed what essentially worked out to a baby naming ceremony for us. Obviously the day was emotional to begin with and the news she couldn't circumcise was extremely disappointing and heartbreaking since this was a day we looked forward to for so long. In the days after the bris we were able to absorb the events better and realized exactly what happened. To begin with, my wife asked for a program to keep as they were being collected (yes, collected), and the response was, "I collect them." She said the same to my mom (baby's grandma). We consider this ridiculous - even if the baby's grandparents couldn't have one, at least the parents should. When I emailed Dr. Rumbak about the issue I'm about to describe, I also mentioned the program and that part of my email was left unaddressed. Here's the major problem, though. We paid $800 for a circumcision plus $150 for travel from Manhattan to Nassau. We were happy to do this because we really liked Dr. Rumbak on the phone. However, after the bris, we had a bit of a realization that really irked us. Why were we never offered any kind of refund for the circumcision not being performed? It really should have been offered that day, on the spot, but it wasn't. Days and weeks turned to months and we still were never offered anything. We didn't even get an email or phone call to check on our son given the medical issue Dr. Rumbak identified. This was surprising given the emotional nature of the day but also because part of Dr. Rumbak's service (advertised on her web site and vouched for in her reviews) is her frequent follow up with the family. Finally after a few months, I emailed her explaining we feel we are owed some kind of refund due to the most critical part of the ceremony, the circumcision, not being performed. It is that expertise for which we paid. Dr. Rumbak issued a $200 refund, saying that the rate for a baby naming is $600. It's unfortunate such a beautiful day was soured by the experience we had. As new parents we feel we were, in a way, taken advantage of. Dr. Rumbak did ultimately give some money back, but we feel we shouldn't have had to ask. Experiences like this are what make people cynical about organized religion. The right thing to do would have been to give us a refund without us having to ask. We would not recommend her.
