So we decided to try it. We called ahead and made the reservation for 8. We were going to eat here Tuesday but they were closed. We got all dressed up and when we arrived we were seated by the host. He helped me in my seat and handed us our menus. The waitress was with us right away, took our drinks, and brought them right back with bread after waiting on her other tables. She took our orders and it didn't take long at all for the food to come out. We got the alfredo. One with chicken and one with shrimp. We also got an order of homemade fries. The fries took a little longer than our entrée but it wasn't a big deal. We had a lot of food on our plate. It was really good. And we were stuffed to the point we couldn't move. I felt like every review I read was filled with people mad at the resort. We had a great experience. Plus it was by far the nicest restaurant in the area.

When we walked in we were told we needed a reservation which was funny because they literally had no one dining in there, but made us make a reservation for a half an hour later, even though they were open, only for us to come back to no one in the restaurant again. So that was mildly irritating. So I take a star away for that. They require you not to wear a bathing suit under your clothing, but allow people to come in almost anything else. A lady came in after us in almost nothing. literally, she was wearing a crop top that barely covered her breasts, and a pair of daisy dukes that her ass cheeks were hanging out of. And yet, a different customer who was wearing a bathing suit top under her long beautiful dress was turned away. I also take a star away for this. The waiter however was extremely nice, and quite good looking if you ask me. The food was good, better than I anticipated but nothing to write home about. I wont eat here again, but it wasn't a bad experience.

We ordered a Campana pizza and it definitely satisfied. Although it was a flatter, flame-cooked pizza, 1 pizza filled up 2 hungry travellers. EDIT (1 week later): Had to check in again to make sure we wern't just there on a good day. We were right, came back and tried it again, I went with the Diavola pizza. The chorizo was spicy, but tasty. The chicken dish that my girlfriend got was creamy and tender, and the alfredo noodles had a little zest from a lemon that complemented them well. Melanzana Bistro + Pizzaria held up, and tasted great again.

We were greeted with a blast of A/C when we walked in and guided to left room of the restaurant. The space was split into two with a dividing wall between a dining only area and the other side with a full bar. My family of four ordered two charrasco steaks (which came with delicious salsa and chimichurri sauce) that came with sides of your choice. They were delicious (both medium rare and another well done) and I was surprised we scarfed down the huge portions. My dad ordered what appears to be a parmesan chicken with pepperoni ("a la Pizza") with a fairly large side salad and my mom ordered corne beef with white rice and a side of fried plantains. She also started with a bowl of the soup of the day; came out pipping hot and was just what she needed to warm up from the blasting A/C. Service was kind and we left with our bellies full. I'd throw in some caution with the narrow parking and navigating this busy "one way" street. Be patience and confident, and you'll be just fine! Worth a stop in if you're craving a hearty lunch.

We met Victor and ended up eating at Bogetta. The brunch was amazing, and Victor was the best server ever. He made our experience a complete 100%. The dates stuffed with sausage were wrapped in bacon and provided the perfect sweet and unexpected savory. We loved it! Hubby ordered the lemon pancakes. Amazing!!! The lemon zest was infused into the light and fluffy pancakes, set off by the light and refreshing lemon cream that was on top of the pancake. The edible fresh flowers and strawberries were a delightful and unexpected touch. I had the huveas sol and wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! The avocados were fresh and tender. The vegetable puree was a wonderful explosion of flavor in my mouth when combined with the perfectly cook sunny side up eggs. Everything we ate was a win! I hope to come back before we head back to California. Today is day one, and it has exceeded our expectations thus far.

We made a reservation here on a Saturday night and were seated immediately in their outdoor area. Our waiter was very competent and nice, and most importantly, so fast! We started with a round of cocktails (I recommend a cocktail over their sangria) and they were brought out within 10 minutes. We then ordered a variety of tapas, including the gnocchi a la brava (my personal favorite, we ended up getting an additional order!) and rabbit turnovers (pretty good but not the most flavorful). All the food came out quickly and we had zero issues. Great dinner spot!

We came here with my parents on a Monday evening. When we arrived it was less than half full. We started out with calamari, albóndigas de la abuela, and pimientos piquillo stuffed with beef. For the main course I went with the ossobuco. The meatballs were so-so. They were a bit dry and under seasoned. The piquillo peppers were good. The calamari was also pretty good, but very greasy. My mom ordered some tostones de pana (breadfruit tostones) and they too were very greasy. The ossobuco was excellent. Tender meat and decadent sauce. My wife ordered the shrimp mofongo. That too was tasty. Food wise, I'd say it was a hit. A few underperformers but overall, solid. The biggest issue was the slow service. The restaurant seemed slow. However, we had to ask for our food more than once. They finally brought it out and told us it was an unusually busy Monday. Mondays are generally very light so they use less staff. This particular Monday caught them by surprise. That may be, but it tends to sour the experience when service is slow. At least, they could have us beforehand or when we first asked for a status on the food.

Extremely Disappointing and Unacceptable…read more Tonight, I visited El Mercato and stopped at the pasta station while waiting for my order. What I witnessed was completely unacceptable: a swarm of cockroaches crawling throughout the display area, in close proximity to the pasta, food, and cooking equipment. I was honestly shocked. Seeing cockroaches in an area where food is being prepared and served is deeply concerning and raises serious questions about the establishment's sanitation and food safety standards. I immediately requested a refund for my dinner and left. I could not bring myself to eat food after seeing this. This was an extremely unpleasant experience and, in my opinion, something that should never happen in a food-service establishment. I sincerely hope management takes this matter seriously and addresses the sanitation issue immediately.
