I was desperate to get some relief or I would not have gone to a random massage parlor. I figured that even a mediocre and over priced massage would be better than the shooting pain. So I used the yelp search functionality for places that would be able to get me in after seven pm. May had positive reviews and I called. How fortunate that she could get me in! Even though it was late Saturday evening she took her time with me. It was an excellent massage and experience. I felt that she really cared about my pain and getting me relief. She tried a few techniques that I have not had before including cupping. Beware, this will leave ugly marks on your skin for a week. She gave a few exercises to try to help loosen the tight muscles for after care. I did experience relief! I would definitely recommend May! She was concerned, dedicated and capable. It was reasonably priced as well. I've visited my chiropractor a few times since and he was surprised that as bad as I was, I said I had been worse over the weekend. He was able to readjust me fairly easily since May had worked me over. Thank you, May!!!

I went to Elegance Massage a long time ago and had the same issues at Asian Angels (which I went to thinking there was different management). These businesses are sketchy, aggressive, and illegal. There is one person who seems genuinely decent as a person, which is Linda (massager). There is one named Maya (who I guarantee does not have a license). She looks like Sméagol from Lord of the Rings when you pull out your wallet to pay beforehand, and she gets mad if you don't tip up front too. She has long nails and does not have a consistent rhythm. I love deep tissue and have had probably 50+ professional massages, and she is the only one who was truly horrific. I even loudly said it hurts bad during the 90-minute massage, and she chuckled almost and kept going. I know they don't really speak English, but still, later the manager's husband said I should have sat up in the middle and complained. I did not want to be rude, but he is right since it caused severe pain. Not due to her pressure, but a 5-year-old could give a better massage. She manipulates the arms backwards and up in a painful manner. I left the massage feeling much more in pain and less relaxed than when I arrived. Maya ended up scratching up my entire back with deep marks at Elegance Massage. I called the owners and sent them pictures, to which they argued and said she was great and had a lot of clients. This is what they said again this time before they saw my online reviews, to which this time they switched their tune eventually and refunded me. I decided to post this, though, so that others don't fall into the trap. I thought about calling the police, but I don't have the time or energy. Honestly, all of the negative reviews online are probably about Maya. The only reason I can think of that they don't fire her is that she is being trafficked or indentured servant. She looked very frail underweight, but her energy was gross. Maya felt more around/close to the genitals then other massagers which if she actually does have returning client I think that's why (which I don't even believe). I am a trans guy, but I think she thought I have a penis and wanted a better tip. The owners do not care when you say it hurts. I had Maya when I first went to Asian Angels, and after I told the owners about her nails and it hurting. She always says she will check and trim her nails (like Maya is her pet or slave). Then I got Linda for 2-3 times, but most recently Maya was assigned to me when I walked in, and my heart sank. I should have just walked out. Both businesses are seedy, unprofessional, and a scheme. I included screenshots of the female owner/manager who messaged me repeatedly to take down my reviews. The female owner also told me that Maya never worked anywhere else and that there is nothing sketchy going on despite my experiences multiple times. The massage room doors do not close all the way, the bathroom isn't the cleanest, and the attitude is passively aggressive, but underneath they have talons, lies, and bullshit. I hope these owners lose their businesses. I might report them to the WA Business Department. Screw these lunatics who should do jail time. Ps. I'm sure the owner lied about Maya's husband dying recently and her getting in an accident. Owner told me she's a poor farm girl or something.

John is a great person and a great massage therapist. As an active person, I tend to develop aches…read moreand pains in my joints, which are often caused by "hyper-tonic" (to quote John) muscles. I had a nagging pain in the front of my left shoulder. I thought it was rotator cuff issue, but thankfully a doctor diagnosed it as bursitis, which is less severe. I've been to countless massage therapists to try and find relief, as well as practicing self care with a lacrosse ball, but nothing helped much. On my first visit, John was able to identify that I had a super tight teres minor on my left side. Whereas most therapists would spend a little time on it and move on, John "stubbornly" dug in his heels and worked it with deep and accurate pressure for about 25 minutes. It hurt so good. We also did pin and stretch techniques where he would pin the muscle and I would reach overhead with my arm. I found this to be very effective as well. I was astonished when I got off the table and experienced much reduced pain and freedom of movement with my left arm. It was a miracle. The pain was basically gone after another session. I still have to be mindful to perform corrective exercises to address the underlying dysfunction (winged scapula, rounded shoulder and forward head, so I'm doing pull aparts, face pulls, and stretching my tight forearms), but John was able to relax an overburdened teres minor and allow the healing process to begin. John also helped me with my knee and lower back issues. He really cares about his clients and wants to help them relieve their pain. I would certainly recommend him to anyone looking for a therapeutic massage.

My appointment was with Jaimie and I got a Thai massage for my first appointment, it was amazing! I could tell she had a lot of experience and had a natural talent. I will definitely be back but my only problem was the price. I'm used to paying $50 for an hour and $75 for 90 minutes. At Castle they charged $90 for a one hour Thai massage so no way I can swing that price every other week. Other than that I highly recommend Castle Spa and Massage!
