I bought my new Subaru Impresa in the Garavel Norwalk Subaru dealership. I checked out other Subaru dealers in the area but I purchased my vehicles from Garavel. When you have so many choices, customer service and the person whom you are buying your car from is very important. The reason I bought my car from this place is the sales person`s knowledge, expertise, care; and Garavel also had the car I was looking for. The sales person was Gary Sajachmetovas. When I went to the other dealerships, I felt pressured buying the car from them but I did not feel pressured in this place. Gary wanted to be sure that my needs are met and he even went beyond that; he educated me about the purchase, about things which are very helpful to know when you are buying a new car. These information were very helpful since I had no knowledge of purchasing a new car (this was my first purchase and by myself). Even though the sales person realized my ignorance of cars, he didn't take advantage of the situation. He walked me through the whole process and he still gives me follow up calls making sure that everything is going well with my car and he is also available if I have questions. I see the prior customer reviews which are very old and those sales people don't even work in this place anymore. This review is based on my experience with the Sales Department at Garavel Subaru. I want to highly recommend the Internet Sales manager who got me there. Also the Used Car salesperson, Darlene who thought it might be a good idea to look at New Cars. And especially Evelyn, in New Car Sales for being so polite, listening to my needs and making the entire experience so enjoyable. The Internet Sales Manager was informed and polite and made me WANT to go to the dealership. Darlene, in the Used Sales department, didn't have the car I wanted, but politely suggested I consider a New Car. I have been to more than a few car dealerships in my day, and have not always had a good experience, so I had no idea what to expect from Garavel Subaru. I saw a new Outback on their website that I liked and did an inquiry; I received a call later that day and made an appointment to look at the car. To start, their beautiful new location is so convenient--right next door to the Norwalk DMV, so you can't miss it. Chris Scarlett, the salesman I spoke with on the phone was very friendly, very knowledgeable and answered all my questions and concerns without making me feel rushed or pressured to make a sale. When I decided to buy the car, the team at Garavel handled everything for me with hardly any effort on my part, which was great. I was able to meet more of the Garavel staff when I picked up my new car and they were all very pleasant and welcoming. Chris took me for a walk-through of the premises and I was very impressed with the the staff and the facility...the service department alone is big enough to make me feel more than comfortable waiting for any work my car may need. My experience was friendly, smooth and easy right from the start. It began with great service -- I never felt I was being "sold" anything. My salesperson, Gary Baumann, figured out what I had paid 3 years ago and produced a better deal for me. The car was exactly what I was expecting. The paperwork was seamless and smooth and took far less time than at other Subaru dealerships I have dealt with in the area. And there was virtually none of the selling of added plans and services and packages that confuse you and slow the process down. I have been a Garavel customer for as long as I can remember. They have provided friendly, knowledgeable and respectful service every step of the way (although I've never had any problems with a Subaru, and this is my fourth). Above it all though, Gary stands out. Always friendly. Always helpful. And always respectful and supportive, no matter how dumb my question or request may be. Saw a great listing for a great Subaru Forester online, and promptly made a visit to see it. Was greeted by Evelyn S on our way inside and even while she was on her break she decided to help us! She was amazing and super helpful, found out the car was being serviced and offered us coffee and water during a short wait. Once we started getting down to the nitty gritty of it all it felt like I was buying a car from a friend, like I know that sounds super corny but sales isn't something anyone likes going into when purchasing, but we were laughing and joking around and having a great time. She helped me take it for a test drive and made sure it got detailed while showing me the Carfax and full details of it all. Would highly recommend her if you want someone nice and kind who doesn't just see you as another sale :) Also, since buying my car, Evelyn was happy to help when I needed to retrieve the spare set of keys from the previous owner - she couldn't find them apparently so Garavel just gave me a brand new spare set. I always thought that buying used was getting someone else's mess. The car we were looking for was for our daughter, she was getting her license in November and we needed a dependable and safe vehicle. I leased and ultimately purchased a 2008 Subaru Outback in 2008 from Garavel and was very happy with it and Garavel, so we returned for a preowned Forrester. Our first choice was being eyed over by another potential buyer but they were not certain. Darlene warned us, advised us to test drive the vehicle and decide asap - it was not high pressure - she just wanted to ensure that if we were sure we would get what we wanted. We were sure and within no time Darlene was handing us the keys to our daughter's new preowned Subaru. Darlene made certain the process went smoothly and it did. Over the years, I had always struggled with finding a trustworthy service company / mechanic and had been used to having pretty bad experiences with dishonest mechanics just trying to make money. I'm thankful I found Garavel for my Subaru because they really are trustworthy and work with you to make sure your car is safe and in great driving condition! My most recent experience has been during the COVID pandemic. All employees wore masks and social distanced. Waiting area seats were adjusted so you could sit comfortably without someone in the chair next to you and plastic barriers were placed in front of the service counters. While the service department was extremely busy, I felt that the wait time was well within reason and the outcome was worth it all. They will no doubt continue to have my service in the future and I hope this review helps anyone contemplating using Garavel Subaru for all their Subbie needs! read more

Just purchased a 2017 Subaru Legacy, after visiting the NY Auto Show. Of all the cars I've purchased, this was by far the best experience. I did extensive research, and knew what I wanted, and what the options were. Salesperson Dave Novik e-mailed me often, in a pleasant way, to come in for a test drive. I finally did, and was not pressured, but he saw to my wishes. I was able to upgrade to an even better choice, and there was a vehicle on the lot which met our needs. I ended up going back home for my Hyundai title, and the entire transaction took only a few hours, and drove the Legacy home. While I did sit through the extended warranty sales pitch by the finance salesperson (which I declined) I was impressed with Dave's easy going approach; I've even been contacted by him to ensure I would become familiar with the car's offerings. This is the second time we were at gravel Subaru in the past 30 days. Unfortunately the first car we bought was totaled after being hit from behind. I have to say the sales woman Diana was excellent! We told her what we wanted and didn't want to and she only showed us what we were interested and did not try to push us towards something else. My wife and I both have respect for anybody who does that. As a dealership in hole, gravel Subaru made a difficult A smooth transition. Between outstanding bank loan which the insurance company hadn't paid off yet and added car warranty which also needs to be transferred gravel made this simple. If you are looking for a Subaru, or use carve any make, I highly suggest you at least explore the options that gravel Subaru has for certified preowned cars. Just bought my first Subaru from Steven at Garavel. I knew I wanted an SUV, but wasn't sure what manufacturer. I started my search at Garavel. Loved the Outback, but had to try other SUV's to compare it to. Test drove a Ford, Chevy, Honda & Buick. The Outback came out on top for me. Steven told us up front that he was new there & he didn't know the answers to some of our questions. The one thing that Steven did that no other salesman in the other dealerships did, was to open the hood of the car for my husband to see. He actually was more knowledgable than he gave himself credit for & we were impressed with his calm demeanor & no pressure attitude. The atmosphere both inside and out (even in the excruciating August heat and humidity) was comfortable and enjoyable. This was my first car buying experience and I had the pleasure of working with Bob, whom I could not have been happier with. He went through every detail with me, answered all of my questions, and showed me that my needs and wants for a car were just as important to him as they were to me.
