I emailed him on Saturday with the stock number of the vehicle I was interested in leasing, and he called me back almost immediately with a quote and the additional information I needed. He even double-checked the vehicle's features for me twice. When I arrived about 35 minutes later, Gary had the vehicle prepped, along with the paperwork and plates ready to go. The car had a full tank of gas, and there were no surprises. I was in and out in no time. I leased a crosstrek from Garavel. It has a problem with the suspension which throws the alignment off which has worn down the tread on the tires. They claim that the tires wore down because I brought it in for a tire rotation at 9,000 miles instead of at 6,000. Further they claim that all their computer generated reports on my brakes and tires are wrong and I should ignore those. For example, at 12,000 miles the report states that my tires are wearing and then at 19,000 miles it states that my tires "healed" themselves. At 23,000 the report shows that they are still good, 8/32. But when I go to check them myself, they are at 3.5-4.5/32. Their technician goes to test them and gets a reading of 4.5/32. Jay, their manager, tells me that all the reports are erroneous. I should not rely on those but only on what he is telling me. Kay, one of Subaru's advocates, just keeps repeating that she is not a technician and I am free to bring it some place else. Useless. So I am left with a car that is unsafe to drive for the duration of my lease. read more

I have been buying and having my Subarus serviced at Dan Perkins Milford but when my daughter voiced concern about her car and we live one mile from Garavel, I ran the car over. They were doing a full service which was more than Dan Perkins, They then showed me we failed the back tire alignment so I had them do an alignment. Again, more than Dan Perkins. And mind you, when I check in, I showed them right on the Dan Perkins website the pricing specials and the most they did was a $50 credit. Still paid more but that seemed ok until I was told the back break pads needed replacing. They quoted $500. Dan Perkins right on their website charges $350. Even with time and gas, worth saving $150 to drive to Milford. however, I let them do it after the service agreed to match the price. Go to pick up my car. Told it is $812 and then go to swipe the credit card only to find out that they charge for credit cards. This is not some small business. This is a major car dealership. It was lucky I had a check on me of I would have had to pay an extra $25 or come back with a check. Very sneaky not to tell you upfront when you drop off the car. Drive to Milford. Dan Perkins is the absolute best and they have a great waiting room with lattes, Capuchino maker, snacks, and will change the TV station if you ask. As a side note, I have bought three Subarus and every time the price was better at Dan Perkins than here. Go to Milford!!!! read more

Avoid Garavel Subaru - Warranty Scam and Ongoing Service Nightmare I bought my Subaru in 2023 from Garavel Subaru and it's been a frustrating experience ever since. I was sold upgraded electronic warranties by Tom (who's great at upselling, but apparently not at being transparent), and was told it would "cover everything." Spoiler: it doesn't cover much of anything. My salesperson, Rudy, seemed completely unprepared--nervous, lacking knowledge, and not helpful in any real way. Since the purchase, both of my keys have failed. The first died about a year ago, and the second one failed two months ago. Despite visiting Garavel three times--once on their assurance that they'd help me at a "low cost" (which turned out to be an $800 quote for a simple key replacement!)--I still have no solution. I've had over seven phone calls with Denise from Subaru of America, Jay from service, and Louis from parts. And after all of that? I'm still sitting here with two broken key fobs, both clearly defective, and no real support from Garavel or Subaru. This dealership is happy to take your money but offers little to no help when something actually goes wrong. Save yourself the stress and go literally anywhere else. read more

Stephen was great. I came in to test drive an Impreza and after talking with him about what I was looking for in a vehicle, I also test drove the Crosstrek too. We went over the differences between the two in side-by-side printouts which was really helpful for me for me to see visually. I never felt pressured into anything while I took a few days to make a final decision. I ended up going with the Crosstrek and he also suggested that I could see the colors in person again on the cars in the lot before making a final decision (which was helpful since I was going back and forth). Unfortunately, I have to update my review. I do not do this lightly since I had such a positive experience in the beginning. Since Garavel changed locations, I've been pressured into getting work done that wasn't necessarily needed. Second opinions from two other mechanics suggested as much. Additionally, after having my transmission rebuilt by Garavel while under warranty, there was some sort of debris left over in the engine that is now requiring additional transmission work. I'm going elsewhere for this work. I would love to continue to rely on Garavel, but the prices, the sloppiness of past work, and the pressure to get work that I suspect isn't needed make me wary. I do wonder if part of this is due to pressure to recoup costs after changing locations. I will say: there are good people at Garavel. My car just hasn't benefitted from them as of late. read more

I've been a Garavel customer since 2018 and can't say enough good things about them. I have to give some points for the new location too, it turned out really nicely. But the main thing I want to review here is the service department. They have been phenomenal to work with, especially my service advisor Conrad. Out of all the dealerships and service advisors I've worked with over the years, I would easily rate him at the top of the list. He's been helping with tracking down a gremlin of sorts in the climate system in my Forester and I don't think we would have gotten this far with it without his help. I've never had an issue with service being completed on time, it's always ready to when he says it will be. And definite bonus points for his dog! I love that dog, she's so cute! Overall I think Garavel is a great dealership and the icing on the cake is their service department, especially Conrad. He's not the only service advisor I've interacted with at Garavel but he is, by far, the best service advisor I've interacted with at Garavel Subaru. read more
