Frustrating experience. Started out very well with the OGD tech, who was very friendly. He measured…read morefor my 2 doors & answered my questions. After that, salesperson contacted me to discuss options & pricing. I placed the order. Went downhill from there. While waiting for the doors to be made & installed, I scheduled 3 other related projects w/3 contractors, all of which needed to occur after the doors were installed. These were: installation of flashing, painting of garage walls, & resurfacing of garage floor. On the day of the scheduled door installation, apprx 20 mins before the appt, I got a text stating OGD would not come that day & they needed to reschedule. No phone call, just a text with no reason given. I called OGD who said the doors were damaged & they didn't know till just now - which means the doors were never inspected prior to installation day. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the lack of communication & told them I now had to push out & reschedule the other 3 contractors. OGD didn't own the problem & only said it wasn't their fault because it was a manufacturing issue. After the hassle of rescheduling the other 3 contractors, OGD cancelled a 2nd time, blaming the manufacturer. I contacted OGD requesting a discount since the other contractors charged me cancellation fees for rescheduling twice. It took multiple phone calls back & forth, but a discount was applied. The doors finally came in & were installed. Over the next week or so, the other 3 rescheduled contractors completed their delayed projects. I noticed that one of the doors began making a loud squealing noise when opening & closing. I also noticed that the inside of the other door had black marks that I hadn't previously noticed & that some of door material was coming away from the door. I contacted OGD. They sent their tech who tried unsuccessfully to remove the black marks. He pushed the shifting door material back in place. He said that 24 of the 28 panels should be replaced. The tech stated the reason for the shifting material was because these doors are not steel on both sides, only on the outside. He took photos of the black marks & the shifting material. (I knew that I ordered steel only on the outside, but the salesperson never advised that the inside of the door, not being steel, would be soft pliable material. I should've been advised of this by the salesperson before I chose the door type, but was not.) The tech said the reason for the squealing noise was that one of the door tracks was installed incorrectly. He moved the track to its correct position, but that necessitated painting touchups, so I had to schedule the painter to come back in, incurring an additional painting expense. I contacted OGD again. I expressed my dismay to my salesperson that I had never been advised that if the doors were not steel on the inside, the inside finish would be soft pliable material. Had I known this, I'd have ordered the upgraded doors with steel on the inside. I asked to speak with a mgr & was told that I must only speak to the salesperson & there was no one in mgmt that I could speak to. I also requested an additional discount for the black marks, & requested that OGD cover the additional painting touch up cost caused by the incorrect installation of the door track. I finally contacted a person in customer service who requested that I send him photos & the invoice for the painting touchups, & he'd check & get back to me in 24-48 hrs with reimbursement confirmation. I sent the requested photos & invoice. I did not hear back. I made multiple followup calls & left multiple messages with no replies. I finally got thru to a customer service person. She pulled up my account & said she saw that I kept calling OGD over & over. She said the person I spoke to was no longer with OGD, & that "there's a reason he's gone." I asked her why no one ever returned my calls after he was gone. She didn't have an answer. She said someone would get back to me by end of day. No one called. I finally got someone & was told that they would not honor what I'd been told their rep.
