SIMPLY THE BEST: There are business owners and then there are professional, courteous and caring business owners. Fred & John are the latter. My husband Michael and I originally met Fred about 1-/12 years ago when the main garage door spring broke and we could not physically open the 18 foot door ourselves; our cars were in the garage and we couldn't get them out. We contacted Fred for help and he was there so quickly, we could not believe it! Upon meeting Fred, it was within an instant that we saw he was down-to-earth with an immediate focus on the situation. He fixed the spring and everything else fell back into place for my and my husband's day because of Fred being there so fast. A couple of months ago, we contacted Fred for quotations on our main garage door (to have it replaced with a new one) and for support on the three garage doors to our shop in the back (there were issues with each of them as there were no motors to open/close them - I could not even lift one of those doors.) Fast forward to 4 weeks ago where Fred and his partner John installed three motors, one for each of our shop doors, so they would open and close easily. Those motors not only made life easier but they also helped to seal the openings because the motors pushed the doors against the frames, something that was not happening before their motors were installed (previously, those small openings encouraged small animals and bugs to get into the shop). Yesterday, Fred & John and Danny installed our new main garage 18 foot door, which is attached to our home. They were meticulous with their work to have the new door and motor installed. Not only is it a great door, it's so esthetically perfect for curb-appeal. For all 4 garage doors, they open and close with a whisper --- seriously, with a whisper. Mike and I have never seen (heard!) this before! The Garage Door Commander team are the best. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND them for any garage door issue or new garage door that you want to purchase. And, they are very fair with pricing. Thank you Fred and John (& Danny) for your professional and courteous service. You are simply the best at what you do. Rose and Michael read more

Fred with Garage Door Commander came out and inspected my old, squeaky garage door. Rather than trying to sell me on components I don't need using scare tactics (like other companies do), Fred inspected each component and explained to me that the components were in great working order, and I just needed a little bit of hinge lubrication to stop the squeaking. He took care of that for me. I had had one of the two major springs replaced three years ago or so by a competitor, and was thinking about replacing the second spring before it fails unexpectedly one day like the first one did. Fred not only replaced the old spring at HALF the cost of the former company I had used, but he also observed that the spring they replaced was the wrong size and was throwing the entire door off balance! He ended up replacing that spring as well for a DEEP discount because he wanted to just make the situation right! Fred is a business man of integrity who gave me great service at extremely reasonable prices! I'm not using anyone else for garage door issues from this point forward! read more

I am in Huntersville NC getting ready to sell my parents house in the MacAulay subdivision. The garage door had been acting up and not working properly. I made the call to Garage Door Commander and Jon came out the same day. After explaining the problem my brother and I decided on a new door. Jon quoted us a very fair and reasonable price to include a new opener. We said lets do it. Jon and Alan came out on the day promised, on time, and got the job done. I was very impressed and pleased from start to finish. These guys were personable, professional and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend Garage Door Commander for anyone in the Charlotte NC area. This is a Veteran owned small business and I love supporting small business owners....and Veterans!! read more

GDC is the epitome of customer service from a time I barely remember. They came to our home and knew exactly what our issues were. They installed a new opener, adjusted the bent panel and bracket, adjusted the rails, and replaced the rollers. They were quick and priced very competitively. I've been trying to spread the word to my friends and neighbors because I believe in the service they provide. You will be happy you chose this company from the time they start to when they clean up their tools and drive away. P.S.: My wife thought I was crazy when I kept going out to the garage to open and close the garage door that first night. read more

I contacted garage door doctor, Inquired the process, pricing, read reviews, compared prices and did my homework. They actually sent me to a home-improvement store to save $$, to get the motor and tracking for them to install "who does that"? Two of them showed up, tore down, performed installation of a new insulated door and programmed my phone, loaded up old door to haul off, all in a timely manor. I called them back later, had them install new spring on our other door, with new rubber seal. Professional friendly courteous and practiced social distancing read more

Kudos! Garage Door Commander was a word of mouth recommendation. I have worked with them before and when I had a recent issue with my garage door, I called them immediately. Not only was I on the schedule quickly, they were early for the estimated time! After checking the system and a minor adjustment, he advised I did not need anything done to the door. Relief is the only word that comes to mind. They could have taken me for a new motor or anything but that's not how they does business. Thank you for being honest, efficient and knowledgable! read more

Great guys!! Very professional, showed up on time and went above and beyond replacing all the wiring and explaining thoroughly how the new door works and all its features. They also took the time to give me pricing options and door styles for replacing my existing old doors. I will definitely be calling them to replace them when we are ready to do so. They even went as far as to lubricate and do basic maintenance on the other door/motor that they weren't there to fix. Very knowledgeable and hardworking crew. You won't find a better company. read more

After a bit of a hiccup with the initial appointment, the guys really stepped up to make things right. Was very happy with how they worked hard to make sure I was happy. They came out right away, gave me an honest assessment of the issue, made a cost-effective suggestion on a new opener, and made themselves readily available for any questions I had. One I have the new opener, they are committed to coming back out to do the installation so more review come after that. For now though, I'm happy with where things stand. read more

We have been looking for a garage door for sometime. Had several garage door companies come out, even some big name door companies like Overhead. By far, Garage Door Commander had expert advice and were very patient with our decision time. Great selection on doors and pricing. They have excellent communication too, which is a HUGE deal to me. Response time to any question was almost immediate. I highly suggest if you are looking for a smooth transaction with knowledgeable people, use Garage Door Commander! read more

My wife and I looked around for about 3 weeks to get a full door replaced. We had multiple people come out and estimate the door, give opinions and also allow us to get a feel for the company. After discussing doors, pricing, and scheduling with Garage Door Commander we felt they were the best for the job. They were on time, quick, and very very respectful at our home. With all that and a quiet, smooth, insulated garage door I would easily recommend this company for Garage Work. read more

Jon was very responsive when we contacted him for a garage door issue. We ended up purchasing new doors because our current doors have been fixed many times and were very old. He did not pressure us at all and was very knowledgeable. His partner Alan installed the doors and did a great job. They are running smooth and look great. Alan and Jon are very easy to contact and keep you informed about the project by text and email. We will use them again and tell our neighbors. read more

Fred and his guys are a top notch group. He stopped by and gave a very fair estimate, helped purchase all the right parts and even saved me money on these items. The installation was flawless and in the time he discussed. I can't be happier with him taking the time to properly set the garage door up and explain the My connect gateway for the LiftMaster 8500.
