I had an outstanding experience with Cassidy from Tip Top Garage Doors. He arrived ahead of the scheduled time--which was a huge help--especially since my garage door had gotten stuck after the recent ice storm in Charlotte. Cassidy was extremely knowledgeable and quickly diagnosed the issue. Not only did he fix the problem efficiently, but he also helped me save a significant amount of money by walking me through what actually needed to be done instead of pushing unnecessary repairs. He was professional, friendly, and genuinely wanted to help. Exceptional service all around. I highly recommend Cassidy and Tip Top Garage Doors! read more

Had an issue with my garage, so decided to go back through my old reviews to find who I used last time. The review search feature on Yelp made it easy for me to find Five Star Club member Tip Top Garage Doors, who was my provider of choice all the way back in 2018, so I decided to give them a call, and I am happy to say that they continue to be Five Star worthy in every aspect of their service. I called and was met by a friendly voice who was able to fit me in the same day. Little did I know, that actually meant within 15 minutes, which was beyond awesome, as that is what you call responsive service! Cisco showed up at my home and took the time to educate me while diagnosing the issue, and you could tell that he had the heart of a teacher, as he enjoyed walking me through the process he was using and gave me some tips regarding future maintenance and upkeep as well. Cisco did a tremendous job not only fixing the issue, but also with the way he communicated each step he was performing, to ensure I understood why he was doing what he was doing. You couldn't ask for a more first class service provider than Cisco, and I really appreicated the fact that he took the time to educate and communicate, as those traits are rare these days. Overall, Tip Top Garage Doors proved once again why they are in my opinion the undisputed leader in all things garage doors in the Charlotte area, as the are friendly, prompt, have great communication, get the job done quickly and efficiently and most of all, do it all at a fantastic value compared to the competition. Six years later and still the same great Five Star Service...very well done! read more

Great customer service. I sent a message on Yelp requesting a quote/ service. A tech, Blake, was at my home within an hour. He looked over my system and explained what my options were. He was able to fix my system on the spot and get it back to working like new. The quickness of service and value of knowledge was welcomed. If you need garage door repair/ install, I recommend Tip Top. read more

I am so happy to support this business. One garage doors coil snapped six years ago. Well, the same thing happened 6 years later (to the day) to the other garage door. I knew it wasn't going to be cheap. But, I was very pleased with his professionalism and awesome conversation. I wish this young man the very best with his new business. He even went the extra mile by cleaning up both doors, added lubricant, and help me to understand some of the moving parts. A job well done. read more

When it came time to replace my struggling 10-year-old garage door opener, I let Yelp lead the way to Tip Top Garage Doors. They were courteous and enthusiastic on my initial call, and worked hard to get me the best price on my new LiftMaster 8355, beating the next lowest quote substantially. I called on Thursday afternoon and their installer, Bo, arrived right on time Friday morning for installation. An hour or so later, I was back in business. Bo was friendly throughout the whole process and took ample time explaining its features. He also left the garage tidy and carried off the old opener hardware. I couldn't be any more satisfied. I highly recommend these guys. read more

Good guys to work with. They come out quickly and have reasonable prices. Definitely would recommend them.

Contacted Tip Top yesterday with a sensor issue on our older opener. Crew showed up today within the window slotted, determined the issue and quoted and exchanged with a new opener. For the timeline and install turn around, the value was spot on. Recommend them for your garage door needs! read more

We had an issue with our garage door and another technician came out to fix it. Once he got here he advised it was a unique setup and we should replace the door and tracks with better equipment. He didn't even consider repairs. We advised we were not going to do that and would call someone else. Our garage door and track are 25 years old but has been serviced regularly and is in good operating order. I called Tip Top back and advised them of the issue and also advised the manager that Joe did all of our work. He told me they would send Joe out to repair it. We have been working with Joe and Tip Top for many years. We have built multiple home and remodeled more. Joe has always done impeccable work. He came out today 10/22/25 and within 15 minutes had found the problem, realigned and made minor adjustments. The door is working perfectly. He did advise that due to the age some parts might fail later. He did an estimate for parts and labor and attached it to our file so next time we could have additional work done if needed. Joe is professional, respectful, and dedicated to do the repairs correctly. We know we can trust him to do the best. He is a fine representative for Tip Top. Anytime someone needs recommendation we always say Tip Top. read more

Monty was on time, provided options, and did a thorough job with my garage door opener replacement.

Garage Door Specialist Joe was fantastic. In an hour he had changed our garage door pulley system to a newer and much safer system. Joe also explained all the steps and took a look at both garage door motors. Now we know that we'll likely need to replace both motors sooner rather than later, but that helps us with budgeting for it. When you make an appt with Tip Top, ask for Joe. read more

Never again. They were great two years ago putting our new door and opener in. We got hit by lightening in April and it killed our circuit board. When the guy came out he told us our only option was to replace our opener with a $1000 new one. Our current one was only $550 two years ago. It turned into chaos after that. I called stating there has to be a repair option, openers aren't disposable! $550 for them to repair it because "Liftmaster parts are SO expensive" I got the run around on what parts I needed with telling me a whole motor but giving me the circuit board part number. This was after multiple phone calls to clarify and get answers. I called Chamberlain (per Tip Tops manager's recommendation), ordered a $69 circuit board and a $29 wall switch. Everything is fixed. I have lost complete faith in Tip Top and their service. Never again. read more

Terrible customer service!! Made an appointment with them for 2:00 on one day. The same day they asked to move it up to 12:45 so I did. Moved my car at 12:45 then waited outside for 15 minutes before calling to find out what was wrong. I Was told tech would arrive 10 mins later. When he did he parked so close to my neighbor's driveway that she wouldn't have been able to leave without maneuvering around his truck. I had to direct him to park properly. He then got out of his truck (30 minutes late) and yelled "What's up, Cheryl!" I was stunned. I told him that was inappropriate. He acted like I had the problem. He never apologized for being late or thanked me for rearranging my schedule to make it convenient for him to come early. I then showed him my remote which was not working. He told me that since the remote was a Liftmaster and the garage was powered by Genie, there is "no way" my garage remote ever worked with the existing set up. I asked him if he was seriously saying for the last 3 years that I had used this very device, I have just been imagining things?! I guess no one told him that it was his company, Tip Top, that last fixed my garage. In 2019!! And gave me the remote!! He said it would be $130 for him to replace everything. I told him I'll find someone else. I called another company who told me the Liftmaster is a "universal remote" and I just need to push a button on my wall unit to "unlock" my remote. I'm going to report this business to the BBB!!! read more

tip top did reach out to me which was extremely surprising & was incredibly thankful for them doing so!!! they sent Alex back out & installed the free parts chamberlain sent me in which they were going to charge me for when they first came out & offered to install it at no charge however to recupercate the favor I asked to go ahead & give me a quote for other work on the doors that weren't necessary since the garage doors now worked but was trying to do something back to thank them...however the price they came back with was atrocious...I guess they were trying to make up for the "free install" of free parts from chamberlain which they were going to charge me for!!! Alex was a great guy & very nice courteous & helpful ...just wish the company was as good as him!!! read more

I called Tip Top Garage Doors this morning to come to check my garage door, i wasn't able to open it and my car was stuck in, Tj answered my call, he was very nice and informative, he was able to sent me a technician after 2 hours, the technician got here and immediately inspected the door and found that the garage door spring is broken, he quoted me a fair price and fix it right away, he inspected the door and the opener for free as well, I'll definitely recommend Tip Top Garage doors to all my friends and I'll use them again. read more

BEWARE!! YOU WILL GET SCAMMED. On September 22nd I set an appointment with TIP TOP to replace my garage door opener that failed. My opener was a LIFTMASTER 8587WL. On Monday September 23rd, Angelo came out to look at the Opener. We agreed that the failed opener would be replaced with a LIFTMASTER 85870 3/4 hp opener. Today while I was at work Angelo came to install the opener. When I got home I went to look at the new opener. Angelo had installed a USED LIFTMASTER 8580 WLB that was made On October 15, 2019 and has since been discontinued. How this man was able to get away with installing a used discontinued opener that was made 5 years ago is beyond unacceptable. This complaint doesnt even scratch the surface of Angelo also damaging my fgarage door with his scale. I want a full refund of $1,227.63 I have attached 2 photos. Photo #1 shows the dirty used LIFTMASTER OPENER. Photo #2 Shows the manufactured date of Oct 15, 2019. Beware!! read more

My garage door made a strange noise and stopped working. Looking at it, a spring was broken. I used Tip Top in the past as appreciate their quality service and response. Sure enough they were here the next day to evaluate the repair needed. Joe was great and besides calling and showing up early, went over several options and helped me decide on the best one. Joe even helped me get the car out so I could use it during the repair. Anyone looking for quality work by a great team, I highly recommend this company for any garage door repairs! read more

The call center representative I spoke with was very friendly and efficient. I got a service window for the next business day. They explained their findings and their process for fixing the door, with the prices included in the explanation. We experienced friendly and effective service. Of the several companies I called, Tip Top was the only one who could come the same day. I was glad because there was no way to get my car out of the garage. Blake found that a spring was broken and needed to be replaced. He replaced the old type enclosed spring with new springs. About 3 weeks later, the garage door began making noise when it was opening or closing. I called Tip Top. A real person answered the phone. He was courteous and had knowledge about the situation about which I was calling. Blake came back to check out the door. There was no charge for the adjustment he made to the door evnthough it may not have been related to the previous repair. Both times Blake came out, he was on time. Alex and Tom were extremely professional and friendly. We could tell they wanted to do the job well and took pride in the finished product. Very knowledgable in explaining our different options (we had a spring break.) Not pushy at all. They were also in masks the entire time and gave us sanitizing spray afterwards if we wanted to spray anything they touched while completing the job. We were originally going to get a couple quotes for repair but after their promptness, friendliness, and knowledge we decided to have them do the job on the spot and we are glad we did.
