The review search feature on Yelp made it easy for me to find Five Star Club member Tip Top Garage Doors, who was my provider of choice all the way back in 2018, so I decided to give them a call, and I am happy to say that they continue to be Five Star worthy in every aspect of their service. I called and was met by a friendly voice who was able to fit me in the same day. Little did I know, that actually meant within 15 minutes, which was beyond awesome, as that is what you call responsive service! Cisco showed up at my home and took the time to educate me while diagnosing the issue, and you could tell that he had the heart of a teacher, as he enjoyed walking me through the process he was using and gave me some tips regarding future maintenance and upkeep as well. Cisco did a tremendous job not only fixing the issue, but also with the way he communicated each step he was performing, to ensure I understood why he was doing what he was doing. You couldn't ask for a more first class service provider than Cisco, and I really appreicated the fact that he took the time to educate and communicate, as those traits are rare these days. Last year, they replaced a broken coil. Since then, they First, they fixed a roller that popped out the track due to loose screws and adjusted the door's tension and closing force. We had an issue with our garage door and another technician came out to fix it. Once he got here he advised it was a unique setup and we should replace the door and tracks with better equipment. He didn't even consider repairs. We advised we were not going to do that and would call someone else. Our garage door and track are 25 years old but has been serviced regularly and is in good operating order. I called Tip Top back and advised them of the issue and also advised the manager that Joe did all of our work. He told me they would send Joe out to repair it. We have been working with Joe and Tip Top for many years. We have built multiple home and remodeled more. Joe has always done impeccable work. He came out today 10/22/25 and within 15 minutes had found the problem, realigned and made minor adjustments. The door is working perfectly. He did advise that due to the age some parts might fail later. He did an estimate for parts and labor and attached it to our file so next time we could have additional work done if needed. Joe is professional, respectful, and dedicated to do the repairs correctly. We know we can trust him to do the best. He is a fine representative for Tip Top. Joe also explained all the steps and took a look at both garage door motors. Never again. They were great two years ago putting our new door and opener in. We got hit by lightening in April and it killed our circuit board. When the guy came out he told us our only option was to replace our opener with a $1000 new one. Our current one was only $550 two years ago. It turned into chaos after that. I called stating there has to be a repair option, openers aren't disposable! $550 for them to repair it because "Liftmaster parts are SO expensive" I got the run around on what parts I needed with telling me a whole motor but giving me the circuit board part number. This was after multiple phone calls to clarify and get answers. I called Chamberlain (per Tip Tops manager's recommendation), ordered a $69 circuit board and a $29 wall switch. Everything is fixed. I have lost complete faith in Tip Top and their service. Never again. read more

Terrible customer service!! Made an appointment with them for 2:00 on one day. The same day they asked to move it up to 12:45 so I did. Moved my car at 12:45 then waited outside for 15 minutes before calling to find out what was wrong. I Was told tech would arrive 10 mins later. When he did he parked so close to my neighbor's driveway that she wouldn't have been able to leave without maneuvering around his truck. I had to direct him to park properly. He then got out of his truck (30 minutes late) and yelled "What's up, Cheryl!" I was stunned. I told him that was inappropriate. He acted like I had the problem. He never apologized for being late or thanked me for rearranging my schedule to make it convenient for him to come early. I then showed him my remote which was not working. He told me that since the remote was a Liftmaster and the garage was powered by Genie, there is "no way" my garage remote ever worked with the existing set up. I asked him if he was seriously saying for the last 3 years that I had used this very device, I have just been imagining things?! I guess no one told him that it was his company, Tip Top, that last fixed my garage. In 2019!! And gave me the remote!! He said it would be $130 for him to replace everything. I told him I'll find someone else. I called another company who told me the Liftmaster is a "universal remote" and I just need to push a button on my wall unit to "unlock" my remote. I'm going to report this business to the BBB!!! read more

I called on Thursday afternoon and their installer, Bo, arrived right on time Friday morning for installation. An hour or so later, I was back in business. BEWARE!! YOU WILL GET SCAMMED. On September 22nd I set an appointment with TIP TOP to replace my garage door opener that failed. My opener was a LIFTMASTER 8587WL. On Monday September 23rd, Angelo came out to look at the Opener. We agreed that the failed opener would be replaced with a LIFTMASTER 85870 3/4 hp opener. Today while I was at work Angelo came to install the opener. When I got home I went to look at the new opener. Angelo had installed a USED LIFTMASTER 8580 WLB that was made On October 15, 2019 and has since been discontinued. How this man was able to get away with installing a used discontinued opener that was made 5 years ago is beyond unacceptable. This complaint doesnt even scratch the surface of Angelo also damaging my fgarage door with his scale. I want a full refund of $1,227.63 I have attached 2 photos. tip top did reach out to me which was extremely surprising & was incredibly thankful for them doing so!!! they sent Alex back out & installed the free parts chamberlain sent me in which they were going to charge me for when they first came out & offered to install it at no charge however to recupercate the favor I asked to go ahead & give me a quote for other work on the doors that weren't necessary since the garage doors now worked but was trying to do something back to thank them...however the price they came back with was atrocious...I guess they were trying to make up for the "free install" of free parts from chamberlain which they were going to charge me for!!! Of the several companies I called, Tip Top was the only one who could come the same day. I was glad because there was no way to get my car out of the garage. Blake found that a spring was broken and needed to be replaced. He replaced the old type enclosed spring with new springs. About 3 weeks later, the garage door began making noise when it was opening or closing. I called Tip Top. A real person answered the phone. He was courteous and had knowledge about the situation about which I was calling. Blake came back to check out the door. There was no charge for the adjustment he made to the door evnthough it may not have been related to the previous repair. Both times Blake came out, he was on time.
