I previously used Gappsi several years ago for driveway paver restoration and was extremely pleased with the quality of their work, which is why I did not hesitate to contact them again for a backyard paver project. After receiving a quote, I reached out to inquire about a start date and was told the project would begin in mid-June. We are now at the end of June, and despite contacting the company multiple times for an update, I have not received a response to any of my messages. While I continue to believe the company produces high-quality work, my experience with communication and customer service this time has been very disappointing. Gappsi assisted me and my wife in designing a beautiful 5-Star Hotel looking Inground Pool to fit into our Nassau County backyard ... with space limitations. WOW! Job Well Done!! They really helped us get the most out of our yard. We still can't believe that we were able to fit a 16' by 20' Inground Pool plus a 7' Sun deck for water-chair lounging. They helped us design a beautiful 12' flowerbox feature (along 1-side of the Pool) with stone pedastals on either end to support our magnificent Pentair Lighted-Glass Water Bowls ... and in between them, a 4' Sheer Descent waterfall! They also saved us precious back yard space by installing all of our Pool Equipment in the back corner of our 2-car garage, adjacent to the Pool. We saw more than 7 Pool design companies before making our choice, but Gappsi was the ONLY company that exclusively uses natural stone in their work (instead of cement pavers)... and at a very reasonable price, by comparison. Our goal was to create the look and feel of a 5-star hotel resort, so we surrounded our modern spa-like pool with a creamy-white natural Marble Stone throughout the entire yard and added a crisp sparkling white accent stone around the flowerbox which houses the 4' waterfall & two 24" glass water bowls. They also rebuilt our 2 sets of outdoor steps, re-laid the cement floor in our 2-car garage, put in a dry-well for proper drainage and back-washing, laid beautiful natural blue limestone down our entire 60-foot driveway as well as in front our our 2-car Garage and BBQ area. Our driveway was edged with a beautiful large Belgian Block to give it all a crisp & pristine finished look. Finally, they surrounded 2 sides of our pool with beautiful 6' tall Arbourvides to complete the serine Spa-like atmosphere. This stunning Pool and backyard surround continie to blow our family & friends away, every time they visit! Gappsi has me now living in Nirvana!!! My backyard was a new builders mess, a nightmare and had a significant slope downward. They installed a beautiful multi level resort in my backyard. The built in gunite pool has a spill over spa and an auto-cover that keeps it warm, clean and well protected from things and little ones from falling in. Its a great safety feature. I can keep it closed and not worries at all. It opens in 30 seconds. The Travertine patio is large and expansive. The lower tier has a water feature and fire pit that and a nice touch at evening. Giuseppe and his entire team have always been professional and respectful. He has always answered the call to come back without hesitation to fix anything and everything. 4 years later, the backyard has filled in and is now a showstopper!!! Gappsi may seem good at first but watch out! We met with Jeff the first week of May for an estimate to clean and seal our stone patio and walkways. Jeff showed up on time, seemed knowledgeable and gave us an estimate for the job. He clearly wrote "Just an Estimate" on the paperwork and told us he'd be in touch soon to firm up pricing and dates. We didn't hear from anyone at Gappsi for over two months after that so figured they got busy or didn't want the job. In mid August, Jeff called our house in the morning when we were both out at work. Jeff left a short voice mail asking us to call him back to discuss the sealing job, but he didn't mention a start date or pricing in that message. So we were shocked when two men from Gappsi showed up at our house at 4:45 PM the SAME DAY, opened the gate, and started moving furniture off of our patio! It was POURING RAIN so I can't imagine what they were thinking as it isn't possible to do stone sealing in the rain. And how could they have known whether or not we had the job done by another contractor in the interim? Sealing a stone patio twice could ruin it. Thank goodness we happened to be home by then, my hubbie we went outside and told the men that we never authorized the job and asked them to leave which they did. This whole experience was very upsetting as well as a breach of security to our home and pets. The men left dirt and grass on the patio which we had to clean off. We will never hire Gappsi for anything after this very bad experience. read more

Gappsi has given me the resort staycation backyard that I've always wanted. I've lived in my house for 25 years and had a complete renovation of my backyard space done by Gappsi last summer. The outdoor space is multileveled and had a ton (no exaggeration) of bricks that needed to be removed before work began. The Gappsi crew was professional and courteous from day one. It is challenging to find a contractor to do it all but Gappsi provided excavation, electrical, lighting, pool repiping, new pool liner, installation of travertine stone pavers, retainer walls with veneers, outdoor cameras for security, turf, an eight person hot tub, and a beautiful fountain. The landscaping will be completed next year along with the cleaning and sealing of all the stone on my property. Giuseppe, the owner, is incredibly honorable. I am a business owner who has maintained two 10,000 square foot buildings for 15 years so I've worked with several contractors over the years but Giuseppe is exceptional! He is very hands on from beginning to finish. I have his contact information and he responds to all requests immediately and there's no penny pinching for extras. I highly recommend Gappsi. The cost was not cheap but very fair for what I had done. If you're like me and expect quality and personalized service, then you are willing to pay for it. Two years ago we moved into our home. There were many areas that were neglected by the previous homeowner that we had to take care of. One area in particular was our backyard. The patio pavers were in disarray and needed attention/repair. I found out that they were previously installed by the Gappsi company over a decade ago. Upon reaching out to Gappsi, an employee named Jeff returned my call and promptly came over to evaluate the situation. Once we agreed on a solution, he had arranged for some other employees to respond and realign/repair the pavers and seal them with polymeric sand. Jeff was one of the nicest people that I ever met. He was so helpful and understanding. The other employees were also courteous and attentive. The owner of the company, Giuseppe, was also involved and came to oversee the project. I was very pleased with the work that the Gappsi company did in helping to restore my patio to its original glory! Fast forward a year an a half later, I noticed that the polymeric sand wasn't holding up. I reached out to Jeff. who previously told me that If I ever had any other problems to contact him. Jeff responded almost immediately to my voicemail and said that he could have some workers respond tomorrow to take care of the situation. My review is now a 1 star because of the ridiculous response I got from the owner of Gappsi. First off, when the contractor, Martin didn't show up, not even calling to explain why, the owner called me a few days later after seeing my Yelp review giving my Martin's life story - a lot of personal information which I shouldn't have been told - very unprofessional (as a business owner myself, there are certain things you never tell clients), but he asked if I'd be up to giving them a second chance with a different person coming in to give me the estimate - which I was, I worked with Gappsi in the past and they done excellent work on my retaining walls & replacing my front stoop. The past though is where it shall stay. It took another 3 days for the owner's assistant to call me back to set up a new date for the other guy to come in to do the estimate . She wasn't very nice on the phone, she acted like she was doing me a favor, and she also told me the earliest she could fit me in was over a week and a half later - when I was hoping by that time to already have signed with a contractor to start the work. Had I waited, I'm sure they wouldn't have began the first of the two projects, which I wanted done by early October. I found someone else who's prices are fair, deck project complete by them and looks beautiful and they will also be doing my kitchen project in January - a $22,000 job - Gappsi lost out on over $30,000 - not to mention they also lost out on my projects for next summer - another protentional $25,000. I expect the owner will respond to this with another lame or rude response. Before considering this company read through the reviews from the last two years - and read all his nasty responses. Not the same company they were when I first worked with them a few years ago. What a shame. read more

While they were more expensive than the other estimates we recd we based our decision off of his amazing reputation and caring personality and we're glad we chose to pay extra for a piece of mind and excellent workmanship. From the get go we felt like we were in great hands with Giuseppe and he assured us the project would go great which it did. Tosh, the owner of the pool company was very genuine and even in the Covid environment they managed to finish our pool in time to use it in 1 month and 3 weeks despite the pool supply shortages due to COVID. His guys worked really hard through the heat waves (97+ degrees) to ensure everything was done to perfection. We trusted Tosh to help us pick a liner and it came out amazing! He even came on install day to help his team to ensure a perfect fit. We really appreciated Giuseppe and Toshs hard work and patience with us as it was our 1st time building a pool! Gappsi installed a beautiful travertine patio in our backyard about 5 or 6 years ago. Recently a couple of the tiles came loose and presented a hazard. We called Gappsi and they responded immediately, replacing the loose tiles at no additional cost to us. Their clean up was a bit sloppy and we couldn't get some of the stuck cement off by ourselves. So they returned and power washed the entire patio and put in new sand, again at no additional cost to us. The patio looks good as new. However, the travertine scratches very easily, something that we were not aware of when we made the purchase. Had we known this we would have gone with a different material. read more

I am a registered nurse and I work at the Northport VA in an outpatient clinic. We were observing Overdose Awareness Day at our clinic and we were planning on planting a "Garden of Hope" for the veterans in observance for all the veterans who have lost their life through overdosing. Mr. Abbrancati called me back promptly and I explained to him about our plan to plant the garden and wanted to know what the cost of the bench would be. these guys work for the Town of Hempstead and over charge for supplies. They charged me $3500 for ten boards that would of cost between $6.99 or the most $10. then they charge $85 for one lock and lasp. where it should of only cost $25 for a whole kit with the lock and lasp and all the stuff that would be needed to hang up the lasp on a door and the lock to lock up the house. When you try to contact them to find out the reasoning of the price they make them self scariest and then when you force the issue then they want to convince you that they are on the up n up. this company don't have the consumer in mind when they do this type of stuff they have the money in their eyes. read more
