The quality back then was wonderful. I visited the flagship store in Stockholm five years ago. The quality has gone downhill. It's almost like the company likes creating disposable clothes where you are expected to buy article of clothing, wear it a few times, and then donate it. My friend and I were at Heartland Town Centre last weekend. We were at Old Navy and decided to pop into H&M next store. I did like some cute tops while I was there, such as a tank top with cute lemons, a shirt that pointed out that it was Saturday, and a lemon purse accessory. I didn't by anything. If I were dying to get something, it would have been the lemon purse accessory. It was something like $4 and was cute. Luckily, my willpower had kicked in. If you are looking for quality-made clothing, this store isn't for you. However, if you have disposable income and enjoy donating your clothes often, H&M is the place to be. (223)

They started out primarily with monochromatic themes like Club Monaco but created pieces with unbelievably gorgeous pastels. After popularity struck it's been paired with Versace, Madonna & very high paid models for runway shows. Contrary to popular belief , the quality isn't the best but when you have brand power, it really does not matter if the stitching is only going to last you 2 night of sit down dinners. I really prefer this location to the mall H&M stores. 4 reasons 1) you can find 2 seasons worth of stuff here. Excellent for those of you who enjoy dressing themselves to the beat of your drum rather than choosing out of what is 'in'. 2) most of the cute items that are in the current weeks shipment will be on sale here 3) very few sales people and big location = shopping at your own pace 4) loads of size availability Tip: if you make a visit in the afternoon (pick me up at lunch hour?) the line up is non existent, which is never the case for the mall H&M's. My office used to be right upstairs from here years ago, and I would always take a quick stroll after work to peek at what's new. You'll find items on sale on rotation each week, so sometimes I'll catch something I've been eyeing for $10 off. The brand is also price quite well compare to others for the quality you get. HeatTech stuff is amazing during winter to layer, and their summer Airism is great with breathable, thin fabrics for the summer. Now I also love their printed T-shirts. I've been waiting all these years for them to have a Studio Ghibli collab. What are the chances that during the month of my birthday, they had one? Like it's meant to be! By the way, if you sign up for their app, they also offer you a coupon for sign up and $10 off of a purchase of $75 or more near your birthday. It's a loft-like space with lots of natural light and really well decorated. One thing that set it apart immediately, is it doesn't have that thrift store smell. They're true to their word that they're only selecting good quality items. Sure, some of the items are perhaps a bit plain, but you don't have to take too long to find a few things you'll like. It's certainly not the case of searching for a diamond in the rough. I imagine woman will like the place even more since about 80% of the floor space is for them. There were several shoppers there and they seemed to have no issue picking out great stuff too. Also, prices are GREAT! Anyone who's 'vintage' shopped in places like Kensington Market will know that things can still have relatively higher prices. My items were incredibly inexpensive, including a Banana Republic shirt which showed virtually no signs of wear for $10. The store confirmation had been sent to the wrong store, as if that were my fault. This woman continued to berate me, saying I should have waited until Tuesday for pickup, a day I cannot take off for shopping. She didn't apologize for her weird rudeness.
