Tanger Outlets Ottawa - 2 fave stores, then a quick purchase at Soft Moc

Tanger Outlets Ottawa

Went to Tanger Outlets Ottawa and honestly had a really good time…read more There's a ton of stores and I actually found stuff here I couldn't find online or at regular locations which surprised me. The deals were really good too Old Navy was solid as usual and even Lululemon had that 2 for $100 leggings thing. They have QR codes everywhere so you can just scan and join their rewards/app on the spot and get coupons while you shop which is kinda nice, didn't feel complicated. The vibe was cute too there's like a fire pit in the middle (even though it was sunny lol), music playing, and I swear I smelled mini donuts at one point with some bangers playing lol Also random tip but if you're signed up with Lindt you can get free chocolate bag for your birthday (and like up to 30 days after). Only thing is the food area is super small, like a couple spots, so don't expect a full food court. But honestly you won't really care because there's a lot to walk through. Would go back for sure.

Good selection of stores here. I am not a huge shopper unless I need something so I always go with…read morea purpose. The food court has 4 places to eat... nothing for me tho. Japanese, Subway, Greek... nah but the washrooms inside there are handy and clean. The stores I would normally go are Bath and Body Works for foaming soap and hand sanitizer.. love their candles too. Van Houte maybe for a rare treat. Tommy Hillfiger but nothing fits right as I have an athletic build so... I just look. I love Softmoc, I do have too many shoes and boots but that's allowed! My ultimate spot there is Chilly Chiles as I love hot food/sauces and the staff there are great. I love the kitchen store too but I have wayyyyy too much of that stuff as I love to cook and already have fancy glasses. Mid week is best to go for service and parking - weekends, I avoid.

Saks OFF 5TH - I love the heels on these shoes! They look super uncomfortable though, lol.

Saks OFF 5TH

So this Saks off 5th was the first one in Canada. I couldn't believe it, the sleepy suburb of…read moreKanata got Canada's first Saks off 5th (in 2016), lol. I guess it's better to experience growing pains and lessons learned in a smaller and less critical market. Anyway, I've been coming here pretty much since it opened, even though it's a bit of a trek for me. The trip has been more worthwhile for me since Tanger Outlets opened a Marshalls, which coincidentally is nearby to the Saks off 5th. They have a selection of items that sold in Saks Fifth Avenue, but they also have items that are exclusively at Saks off 5th (i.e. were never actually in the retail Saks Fifth Avenue boutiques). For the high-end brands, the prices are less than retail, but you won't get bargain basement prices that you will rave about for years, like at Winners or Marshalls. Case in point, I've never seen a Missoni dress at Saks off 5th go for less than $200, but I once scored a Missoni dress (in perfect condition, I should add) at Winners for $55 (!) That being said, Saks Off 5th almost always has several Missoni dresses, but you'll only see them at Winners maybe once every 5 years, and maybe only 2 of them. So selection at Saks off 5th is much better. I mean they always have high-end brands, meanwhile Winners and Marshalls will get some in during their "Runway Event" and "Red Carpet Event" respectively. These happen only a few times a year, and inventory sells out within a week or so. Nonetheless, I still love all 3 aforementioned stores (Winners and Marshalls more for the prices, and Saks off 5th more for the selection/availability). The change rooms at Saks off 5th don't have real doors; they have curtains. However, you can "lock" the curtains with hooks, which I appreciate, so strangers don't barge in on me while I'm trying to wiggle myself out of a bandage dress, haha. They have a good selection of women's and men's clothes. The kid's clothes selection is small, as is the kid's shoes section. Women's shoe section is huge. Men's shoes section is smaller. Accessories section is ok (mostly purses/wallets, jewelry and sunglasses. Some scarves and belts.) This place is like I mentioned earlier in the Tanger Outlet Mall, so there's ample free parking.

I'm really happy that Saks is finally here! Yes, it's not…read morethe cheapest but it's nice to have a few high end items in Ottawa. It's a small Saks store but ok selection. One thing that bothered me was how the newborn & infant clothes were set up on a really high rack (see pic). I'm pretty sure a tall employee had something to do with that and forgot about us short and average height people :( Please, Mr/Mrs Manager - please bring down that rack! Other than that, since it's a new store, I will give them some time to have enough stock to mark them down. Waiting for the Clearance items :-))
