I haven't been to Tanger Outlets in nearly four years. I had a great experience this time. It…read morehelped that I visited my two favourite sister companies: Old Navy and GAP. If I were to pick a favourite, it would be GAP. I am pleased that I continue to be able to fit into clothes offered at this store. Over a decade ago, a women's size 16 was the largest size and I couldn't fit into it. I'm happy that I no longer have that issue. Either I had to shrink or the sizes needed to grow. It's funny, but both happened! I walked into this GAP outlet store on a Sunday afternoon and loved the Canada Day sales happening. I managed to get a pair of lounge shorts for $10, which was 60% off. I have three pairs of them already. They are extremely comfortable that I got another pair. I also got a super soft t-shirt. I visited the fitting room where a young man with a British accent helped me get a room to try my two items on. He was great. He took good care of every person wanting to try items on and would fetch different sizes for those who needed them. Staff here are friendly. I was searching for the t-shirt that I needed and eventually found it after rummaging through practically the entire pile of t-shirts. A woman came over and asked if she could help. I was done, but appreciated the gesture. I went to pay for my items. The woman cashing me out said that I could get an extra 10% off with an e-mail that I would have received. I retrieved it, but it didn't look like a coupon with a barcode. She looked at it, said that it was good, and I got my discount. Nice! Recently, a friend had the impression that I like shopping at malls. I don't mind browsing or hanging out at malls, but I tend to shop at outlets more. GAP is a good example. I'd rather hit the outlet store than visit a regular GAP store at a mall. I like this store. It had great deals on decent items. (198)

The store…read moremust be easily accessible (hey, strollers are hell to steer), offer clothes that make your kid look cool (got to impress the other parents), and it must be cheap, cheap, cheap! I found such a place at Billings Bridge Mall - Growing Kids. The clothes are really hip (a mini Sens jersey anyone???) and they have these pretty princess dresses for your little princess!!! The prices are very cool and they have sales all the time. The day I went in, everything was 25% off! It is around the corner from the LCBO and near the exit by Independent Grocery.

We found two dresses at the store that we both fell in love with and a bonus was that they had all the accessories to go with her outfit. Nice white nylons and the sales assistant, Evelyn, helped my daughter try on a variety of different shoes. The prices were very reasonable and there was no hard sell. Evelyn, really took the time to connect with my daughter and find out what we both were looking for. She took a lot of care wrapping the special dresses in clothes bags and making sure that my daughter felt very special too. We had a super girls time in this store and will definitely consider coming back when we are looking for dressy clothes on another occasion. Saw lots of nice duds for the boys here too. Thanks Evelyn you are one of the stars in Ottawa retail.

I realized last year that I don't own any clothes with Canada boldly stated on it. Last Canada Day,…read morethe closest I got was a pink Blue Jays t-shirt with a small maple leaf on it. I realized this past weekend that Old Navy had Canada tanks going for $6. I decided to visit the Old Navy outlet. The tanks were okay, but I'm not a tank top person. I then found two t-shirts that I liked. One was a white t-shirt with Canada written four times in old 70's-style lettering. The first two Canada instances were white with black outlining the letters. The third row had Canada in red outlining. The last row was white letters again. It was a ringer t-shirt, with red trim. Sold! I also got a grey t-shirt with little red maple leaves all over. It is also a ringer t-shirt. Each t-shirt went for $8. The price was decent. I love summer merchandise at Old Navy. The watermelon and lemon beach bags are adorable. I also secretly want a watermelon umbrella. At the checkout. I decided to get a tube of charcoal clearing mask for your face. You basically let the mask harden and you peel it off gently. I need to give it a try and see if I can truly lift it off or if I will have a permanent Halloween mask on. The checkout was fairly long. I was there for seven minutes waiting in line. I tend to be pretty patient, especially when there is a ton of merchandise to check out. The woman helping me out at the checkout was efficient and nice. I got my goods and left. I wore my white Canada t-shirt on Canada Day. I am finally cool. Yay! Thanks, Old Navy. (200)
