Then--just days before New Years when I'd been told that the Upper Valley has no store dedicated exclusively to baby things--what to my wondering eyes should appear, but Country Kids Clothing and all things sincere! There are beautiful picture books and classy bibs, pacifiers and chew toys (I'm a dog person, no apologies), swaddling clothes, carry-all bags, and more. You'll find an array of items to suit any baby's general needs, from pricey to economical, trendy commercial to local organic (the natural wood teething rings were my fave, one more solid use of Vermont maple!). The stuff here's cute as shit, cuter than your little shit, probably! You can't go wrong, it seems. There's a second room, too, for older babies. Elder babies? Toddlers? For when they're at 43 months, or 72...whatever. There are two people on staff, though I only spoke with one. Robert was amazing in helping us find just the right custom tartan and making all the kilts for the groom and groomsmen. He also outfitted the group with all the right accessories to make them all completely authentic and even went as far as to invite them to his shop to help them get ready the day of to make sure all was perfect! Julie baked the most amazing shortbread for our guests' welcome packages and they even connected us with some pretty talented musicians in the area that played at the wedding. I found some nice items, an L.L. Bean fleece and Lands End jacket, both for $3 a piece for my little guy. There were lots of winter clothes AND spring clothes, which I fully appreciated after going to another store that was already selling only shorts (yes, it is March, but we had a foot of snow last week!). They also had a large variety of baby gear: strollers, co-sleepers, bouncy chairs, etc. I will definitely make the trip to Brattleboro again for this place. Loved it!
