I like to start with the positives so let me say that this store is much bigger than it looks on the outside and there is a pretty large selection of all things baby/kid related. The clothing is organized well by size and I really appreciate that they have a play area for kids so that way my son could play while I shopped. The biggest issue I have with this place are the prices. They are way, way too high. I moved to the area recently from Westchester County (which is one of the most expensive counties in the country to live in when it comes to buying anything) and the prices at Cuddle Bugs are higher than at the children's clothing consignment stores that I used to shop at in Westchester. Almost all of the clothing there is used but priced close to the new retail price. The employees there will tell you that they price everything half of the new price but they aren't taking a lot of things into account. For example, I saw a new outfit from Carter's in the store. The original Carter's tag said $14.00 and Cuddle Bugs was charging $7.99. However, if I went to Carter's that item would never actually be $14.00 because Carter's has tons of sales and sends out lots of coupons. If I had went to Carter's to buy that same outfit, I would have probably actually paid between $7 and $10 after sales, coupons, etc. So, Cuddle Bugs is actually charging the full retail price for new items. Used clothing is also priced almost as much as it would have been when it was new. A used baby shirt or pair of pants shouldn't be $6. I'm a working mom on a budget but I also like buying used clothing for environmental reasons, but I can't afford to pay $10 for a used outfit for an infant who is going to outgrow it in a couple of months, especially when I need 5 or 6 outfits. I also noticed numerous stained outfits while I was there and I'm surprised that they even take those things. They also are not willing to take offers on anything including larger ticket items. I saw a baby hammock there which I thought my son would enjoy but it had some stains on the canvas (plus it's pretty much the end of summer) so I asked if they were willing to take offers (it was priced at $49.99). They told me all prices are non-negotiable. I was also disappointed that they don't accept any returns. So if you get a pair of shoes for $10 and they don't fit, you're just stuck with them. If I had something really specific that I was looking for or if I was desperate to find a certain baby item, I might go back but at this point, I'm not planning on being a frequent shopper. read more
