Regardless of the Loonie - US Dollar exchange rate, I also find Roots stuff to be a bit dear price wise. That's why the Outlet stores (I've been to the ones in both Calgary and Edmonton) are worth checking out first. This particular Roots just happened to have some nice sales when I was there, so their great and stylish selection of clothes and accessories were even more tempting this time around.

One can easily spend hours in here with the wide variety of food, drinks, and shopping options. To top it all off, there is an absolutely stunning garden on the fourth floor with ample seating and complimentary WiFi. I can see myself just posting up there and getting work done, reading a book, or just relaxing. Only downfall is that all the washrooms are on the fourth floor and with how the escalators are set up and small elevators, it can be a pain to get up there. There were a few escalators that were out of service when I visited as well. Overall, phenomenal shopping center that I will definitely be visiting often while here.

Tory Burch makes my heart sing…read more I love the high quality style, and the service is excellent! I have shopped both in Chinook Center and online and the service and product have been consistently exceptional. Wait until you read this story of exceptional customer service. I had a small, casual wedding in July 2013 and purchased both my shoes and wedding dress from Tory Burch (I posted pictures so you can see). The ladies at Tory Burch were enthusiastic, helpful and got me suited up, and even watered down with a diet coke while I shopped (seriously?? I never expected that kind of hospitality!). Fast forward a few months, I tried on my dress and....... I put on a "little weight". I needed to go up a size. The dress was unworn, and I brought it in and they went through the whole rigoramol again, (diet coke, friendly, helpful, compassionate) and i got the "new" correct size and was out the door. Now here's the kicker. Right before my wedding, I get a delivery to my home. Flowers! From Tory Burch, CONGRATULATING me! They have a fan for life. I tell everyone the story. They need to know how Tory Burch has gone above and beyond any retail experience I have had. They honestly have inspired me to do better, because I can see what a difference it makes.

I told my husband about it and joked that he should buy me a pair of ballet flats. Well he took it seriously and agreed, what's a girl to do? :) The one grayed out star is for the overall feel of the store. When we walked in it felt like the store was too cramped. The shelves look like they were too small for the number of items there wanted to display. In the spot where the ballet flats are, it looked like they just placed one of each style they have without thinking if the display will actually entice their customers into purchasing. Those four stars are for their products and service. Their products maybe a bit on the pricey side but they last and their designs go with a lot of styles - I love that cos I hate thinking too much about what shoes or bag goes with what. Their sales people are friendly and really attentive. I think I had two ladies help me and I only tried on two pairs of shoes. My husband was happy too because he was offered refreshments while waiting for me try on shoes, also he didn't have to get out of the couch to pay and claim our purchase (we're not as lazy as this in real life :P) I wouldn't say it's a place that you go to every week for shopping unless you really can afford to do so. I will probably have to eat leather and live in my purse if I do that. For the service and quality of product I think this place is worth checking out and maybe once in a while buy something that pleases your eyes. I think it's just fair for a lady to splurge every now and then right? :)

Got a Marant top, and a brand I'd never heard of, but they had a huge selection of stuff and I wish I'd had a little more time. Things were neatly organized by color and then by style- for example tops started sleeveless, graduating to short sleeves, then long sleeves. But all sizes mixed in- but that's part of the digging fun. Staff was so lovely and helpful, quick to offer a dressing room start seconds after I started carrying something. Also exciting that they have color coded tags. I felt like Charlie looking for that golden Wonka ticket, and was thrilled that my most expensive item was 50% off. Total score. Left there buzzing from the variety of prints, brands, and fabrics. If I were a local, this place would be in regular rotation.

May 29, 2022 - Store is under new ownership since about Nov 2021…read more Horrible experience with new owner. Retrieved all my clothes recently when I couldn't get a balance on my account after several attempts. I was told yesterday, that even though those clothes/accessories had sold, they had "expired" long ago and therefore NO balance was owing to me. For the record, I extended the time twice (once they extended it themselves-noted on an email- as their system was down and they were transitioning to a new system). My clothes and accessories were featured prominently on their website, on their mannequins, in their window displays and modelled/featured many many times on instagram, and I could see when some sold - so I question that they were "expired" as obviously they were very much still sellable. Regardless, they sold my items recently or in the last 3 months (many designer - Kate Spade, Club Monaco, Aritzia, BCBG, etc.) and kept 100% of the proceeds - sending me a pittance apparently for items that sold prior to expiry . Do not consign with this new owner! If you currently do - I would pull my stuff from that store and demand a full accounting of the transactions. I will be filling a complaint with the BBB this week. I had to give it a 1 start in order to post this review - but this new owner does not deserve any.

But recently I walked by and saw a really nice party dress...perfect for the holiday season. I was in a rush though so I noted the dress and came back about a week later on a weekend. The dress was no longer on display but I found it easily enough on the rack. They had a few sizes left and thankfully one that looked like it would fit. No sooner did I have the dress in hand, did a sales woman offer to start a fitting room for me. A little pushy but after that she didn't bother me so I can't complain. I quickly glanced around the store. There was a lot going on and most of the styles I saw weren't my thing. I think they cater to a slightly older crowd (late 40's/50's +) (they did have a cruise wear section). They also have stuff that I'd consider to be a little more whimsical/unique in design which isn't my personal preference but I could picture some women I know who would love the clothes there. The dress fit perfectly (yay for in-change-room mirrors) and I made the purchase...at just a little over $100 it was a good deal on a party dress in my opinion. I'd recommend shopping at this store on the weekends as it always looks a bit busy during weekdays. Also, during the week they have live mannequins stationed at the door. They creep me out a little bit but others may not mind :)

Poor customer service. The website has the store closing at…read more8pm on Thursdays. In the last 2 weeks, I showed up on 2 separate occasions once at 6:15 and today at 5:45 both times store closed. Today (very upset) because the lights were on, 2 ladies working in the store and the doors were locked. I knocked and the moment the saw me, they went to the back room. I was trying to make an exchange which will now become a return and I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN.
