They have a pretty good selection of chocolates in different shapes, sizes, kinds, flavors and colors. Chocolate with nuts, caramel, alcohol, fruits...dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate. They have cookies with chocolate. They also have cakes. I picked up some truffles and hazelnut cookies with dark chocolate which were amazing. I got some calamansi chocolates and I'm not fond of citrus + chocolate combos but these were very good. Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate. I drooled just by the sound of it. Especially during the rainy days, which this season seems to have almost every other day. I was in dire need for something sweet that warm my body and my mission to fulfill my chocolate cravings, takes me to this glorious chocolatiers. Residing in the center of the bustling Collin Street, Chocolate Ganache is a shop that specializes in everything chocolate. Their creations are almost similar to the famed Koko Black, just not as massive and minus the crowds. Once inside, you will be invited to be seated either indoor or out on the patio (mostly for smokers), regardless of your preference, this is a solid place to hang out. As for my drink, I had the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate and it was so comforting, beautifully creamy and has that dark chocolate intensity that I like. It was served with a bite sized hazelnut meringue cookie, I personally would take this out of the equation as it was rather hard to bite on. Other than that, their cup of chocolate was scrumptious and it will do wonders to your taste buds. On top of serving the best hot chocolate drinks in town, I love the cafe itself, very homey, calm, almost like a sweet escape from the crowd for a few hours. I love this little coffee shop. I'm going back to Melbourne in a couple of weeks and I will definitely go back to this coffee shop. I am getting chocolates from here alao so I can bring it back to the states. Ok. My dessert just melted in my mouth. I ordered the mango and passion fruit with a white chocolate swirl and it was so good. I didn't care about sugar and carbs anymore. Lol! It was that good. I know this review is a week later but I can still remember how yummy it was. This seems like a very upscale looking little coffee shops. my waitress was very nice too. Ganache oozes luxury. The dark wooden seats and tables are very comfortable and there is diverse and eclectic range of hand made chocolates that you can stare at forever. I like stopping off here if it's been a cold day in the city. There really isn't anything better than chocolate and shopping, and you can combine those at Ganache. Their range of chocolate sculptures is very impressive and make the perfect gift for special occasions (rabbits for Easter, Christmas decorations etc.) I have to say that I'm a sucker for the hot chocolates and cakes; they are very rich (you'll need some water to help get them down) and perfect after a hard day of shopping on a cold winter day. I have yet to try the gelato, but judging by how delicious everything else in the store is I'm sure it's amazing. The staff are fantastic, very professional and friendly, ask them for a recommendation off the menu or for a gift if you're a little stumped. read more

If you are here at Ganache chocolate then you probably love chocolate or you are buying a gift for someone who love chocolate Ganache opens till late most evening and makes a great cold night stop for after dinner or show. The hot choc were delicious but i wish they offered a darker blend that's not too sweet considering how sweet everything is in this shop. Each cuppa comes with a nougat type biscuit, it was a delight dipping them in the hot choc. But again I think these biscuits could be less sweet or less sticky. I don't know if anyone actually eats this whole thing without breaking their teeth. Chocolates are delicious, cakes are good too but on the pricey side. I would stick to their signature hot chocs and choc pieces instead. read more

Ganache Chocolate is located right next to Nespresso on Collins St, which I think is a great pairing. Their display window is always filled with chocolate goodness, with different moulds and products depending on the season and occasion. When you first walk in, you'll be greeted with a big sprawling display case of chocolates on your left. In here you will find the most delectable chocolates available anywhere in Melbourne. At present they have just under 50 different pralines. As their name suggests, most of their chocolates have a ganache centre. Ganache is a French cooking term for a mixture of chocolate and cream. So in normal terms, it is soft yummy goodness! I highly recommend the Swiss Almond, Caramel Dome, and Valrhona truffle. If you're not sure, just ask the staff for a recommendation! If you manage to tear your eyes away, in the display fridge next to it is macarons and their French style patisserie. Their cakes are absolutely divine, and so succinct in their implementation. The styling and presentation of the cakes are very traditional European, with layers of mousse and jelly and chocolate curls. You must try the Hazelnut Fan Slice and Passionfruit Mango Slice. No review of Ganache Chocolate is complete without a mention of its hot chocolate. Now I don't drink hot chocolate, so I rely on the palate of the Yelpers before me to confirm what everyone seems to know; that Ganache makes one killer hot chocolate. Picture this: 60% dark chocolate melted down in cream and a bit of milk. That's what their hot chocolate is. But don't take my word for me, try one for yourself. Service here is usually top notch, with a few stumbles here and there occasionally. I don't fault them, as I think it's impractical to expect excellent service 24/7 everywhere, every time. Melbourne is meant to match a very European look and feel, so it was a cold day and while walking through the city, I stumbled across this gem or rather the amazing chocolate aromas led me here. Just like any other pastry shop/restaurant, they had a counter-full of pastries and yummy desserts with everything just looking amazing. The waitress was quite fast to get me a table, as I was ready to just order one of these amazing desserts. I ordered a raspberry mousse cake and their signature Mint Hot Chocolate. Can I just say, "I was just transported to chocolate heaven?!?!" The flavours in both were very rich, just how I like my chocolate and it was just amazing. The hot chocolate wasn't like any ordinary beverage, but the consistency really took it to the next level. It was thicker than a liquid yet still creamy and smooth. I will say though, even for me, it was definitely a sugar rush and at the end of my hot chocolate and pastry, I could feel the sugar rushing through me. Very pleasant little place to have a coffee and grab some chocolates. Plenty of patrons coming in and out so it seems popular. Coffee here was good but not spectacular. It was a bit too much foam and slightly underpowered. It's certainly a generous cup though. I asked for a large cup and was given that plus a very fetching almond cookie which was nice and tasty. The fact that I came here TWICE in three days should really say something - could it be that I am an absolute chocaholic OR could it be that Ganache is fabulous? Probably a bit of both! This gorgeous and luxe little chocolate cafe has everything going for it - a huge array of delicious looking treats, friendly staff and all the little attention to detail that you would expect. Round one featured a pot of chai (I know, odd choice considering the venue but it was late at night) and a yummy salted caramel orange layered piece of happiness! So so good! Round two featured the main attraction - chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate! An orange flavored hot chocolate was perfect - rich but so tasty and worth every calorie. This selection was paired with their chocolate tasting platter, featuring four of their most popular truffles and a macron. All was wonderful! The details that bring this up to a truly brilliant choice - staff constantly refill your glasses of water, probably with the understanding that between mouthfuls of chocolate it is best to cleanse the palate. The other detail is that each beverage is served with yummy little nutty meringue biscuits. Cute and yummy! Ganache is a chocoaholic's dream. Originally opened in South Yarra they have a second store in Collins Street which is also beautifully designed and offers an incredible range of delicious treats. As you'd expect from a gourment chocolatier Ganache isn't cheap but you don't come here to scoff yourself, it's more of a treat - for yourself or if you can control yourself there are gift boxes to take away. There are all sorts of different shapes and designs such as an F1 cars, dinosaurs and seasonal favourites around Christmas and Easter. The hot chocolate here is divine and taking a break from a day's shopping in the cbd with a few pralines is a great way to rest. My personal favourites as much for taste as for design are the golf ball, champagne truffle and chili tequila. Great way to treat yourself or your loved ones. read more

It could be the glass countertop you see upon entry that features the most tempting desserts like the Chocolate Mousse slice, multicoloured macaroons or the exquisite lemon tarts. It could be the shelves, filled with enticing chocolate products, perfectly wrapped and perched for optimum impact. It could the quaint tables and chairs in dark wood, that provides a warm and intimate environment. All of these build a feeling of expectation that an experience is to be had here, but it is the quality of the menu items and the extreme care that has been taken with their presentation that makes one feel special.
