I've gone to this GameStop for years and have had nothing but stellar experiences. The manager Anthony is customer focused, friendly and knowledgeable. They are the only GameStop that sells trading cards as well as video game and video game accessories and always have sales. Overall the only GameStop I use. read more

After coming from another GameStop location these guys just saved a bunch of one star reviews to be honest. I'm not sure what the tall black dude's name is that works there but his transparency and being as upfront and honest to me from the start was really nothing but excellent customer service. I gave this store a scathing review about a month ago but the new Manager Anthony came in and helped fix all the issues I had before he even started working there . October 25th was supposed to be the day I pick up my last preorder and never go back in there. Anthony changed my mind as long as he's managing the store I may stay around a little longer . I've been to this GameStop a few times since moving to Wake Forest. I visited again after a few margaritas down the road, curious if they had the PS5 (of course, with the many calls and visits to GameStops since the console came out, I was 99.99% sure they didn't have them). Surprise! They were having a bundle deal for Pro Rewards Members and we FINALLY got a console!! The cashier was super helpful and amazing to us. She gave us the correct deal that other employees apparently were not abiding to during the day (though we waited around patiently while she made calls to make sure which deal was correct). We are stoked that we finally got a PS5 and are thankful this location was doing an awesome bundle deal. read more

My daughter phoned last night specifically to see if you would have Pokemon PCG Prismatic Evolutions cards in stock. The manager there told her they would have lots available. My daughter came to the shop at 7 AM this morning, along with many others, and waited in line in the cold for 3 hours for the shop to open. My daughter was first in line. When the shop opened, the manager told her there were no cards. That was pretty crappy of you! My daughter is devastated. We'll never buy anything from your shop again. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. Eric, the manager, is the absolute rudest man I've come across in a long time. After waiting 30 minutes for the new employee to not figure out several customers purchases, Eric comes out, and is rude from the start. Tells me and my young son that the exchange program I purchased wasn't what I purchased and proceeds to snatch another controller off the wall and puts it down while cutting me off and not letting me speak at all. Then tells me to get the controller and get out. It's my son's birthday, we were there for over an hour, and we were treated like trash. And so was the young employee just trying to be helpful. Purchased a game today. The cashier who checked me out put the wrong game in the game case. When I returned an hour later and notified the cashier of her error, she didn't apologize for the inconvenience or express any remorse. She just laughed and said, "No wonder I struggled to put two disks in the case. Thanks for catching this." Her co-workers hearing this shook their heads, suggesting that she makes errors like this regularly. I will not be returning to this location. read more

Tabitha at this location sold me a game that didn't have the disc inside. I also asked her for Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition (which I only bought since I needed the DLC's) and she gave me a standard New Vegas copy. I even bought Fallout 3 with the DLC's and it came as a plain copy. How do you sell someone a video game without the actual game disc in the box? How do you work in a video game shop and sell someone a plain copy of a game they specifically asked for in a different edition? She charged me for the Ultimate Edition and when I came back - there was a very sweet girl named Shelby (I think?!) who told me Tabitha shouldn't have done that and even looked in their systems to see that there was an extra disc in their filings for the game I had bought that was missing a disc. I also went into this location a few weeks prior and picked up a game on reserve. Tabitha was working again and she was so damn rude to me. She shouldn't be working in retail with that attitude. read more

If I could chose zero stars, I would. My wife and I went there today to return or exchange a few games from Christmas and was amazed how poorly the young lady that works there treated us. I wish I got her name but didn't. She was so rude, condescending, disrespectful and unhelpful. I will be filing a complaint with the manager tomrrow and make it a point never to shop or go to the Wake Forest location ever again. No one deserves to be treated the way we were treated today, ever, by any employee of any establishment. read more

Although the staff was nice, this GameStop rips their customers off. I attempted to trade $600+ worth of gaming equipment purchased from this exact GameStop 6 months ago, in the same condition if not better, today and was told they could give me $145 dollars for it all. I though new cars had the worst depreciation rates, but GameStop proved me wrong. They are worse than a Used Car Salesman and have no shame about it. read more

This location is fine unless you have to deal with Tabitha. If that's the case, I suggest you leave and find a different store before she tries anything shady. She just tried to sneak a game warranty charge onto my bill without asking. She added it and then told me (quickly) that she added it. I said, "ummm is it free?" She said oh it's hardly anything. I said well I didn't ask for it so please take it off. Unbelievable!!! She did the same thing to my husband several weeks back. She also informed me that I couldn't get any preorder bonuses for my game because they had sold out. This caused me to think I should order the game digitally for the bonuses instead. She said "no they aren't doing anymore preorder bonuses digitally." So I bought the game. Came home and saw that yes, you could preorder the game digitally and get the bonus. Yet another lie/slick move. In other words, if she's there, best of luck to you. Don't say I didn't warn you. read more

Over the last several years, we've had endless problems with this store but yesterday when we came in to pick up a pre order just to be told they sold it to someone else without even calling us was the last straw. We were told that the manager Corey disappeared and no one knew if they had called us, so they just didn't call. We've also had several problems with an employee named Shawn (Ponytail), he's incredibly rude and likes to make comments that he thinks are funny.. they're not. It's so disappointing that this is the store closest to our home. read more

This store is a horrible location!! The current staff is shady and i feel like they are abusing the system to trick customers out of money and merchandise. Ive had 2 issues with them with in a months time...i placed a online order and did in store pick up and the staff wouldn't give me my merchandise even though i showed proof of my online order for in store pick up. I had to call the corporate office to get them to confirm my order on top of my emails with in store confirmation. Today i had another issue where i made a purchase in store and the guy told me to swipe my card an additional 2 times and then he said my card declined. I checked my bank account and the money had been removed by GameStop i showed them and they got defensive and combative and wouldn't give me my merchandise. I will be calling corporate AGAIN and make them aware of these continuous issues at this location...in my opinion this location is extremely shady, unprofessional and ignorant. Its a shame the original crew that worked here are gone bc they were awesome they knew me and my family by face and greeted us by name...this staff is just trash! read more

Typical GameStop, with the exception of the manager, Sean, and one female employee. Same old horrible prices in comparison to anything online. They pester customers from the minute they walk in , to the moment they check out. If I need help, I will ask for it. I don't need to be asked 3 times if I need to preorder something. I handed the cashier a copy of uncharted with the original case, only for it to be swapped out for a horrible GameStop generic case. The store is as small as always, and there isn't a queue for the register, so people tend to just cut in front of you until you say you've been standing in line. They make terrible game suggestions based only on what they like. Check eBay or amazon before purchasing preowned games here. read more

Great customer service! The associate answered 15 minutes worth of questions, helped me make a good purchase for the kids. I really didn't shop around, I wanted to talk to someone about the different consoles. Once I decided on the console, the associate spent time going over the games I could purchase and free downloads offered to get the best value. Overall, great customer service. I'll pay $20.00 more to get that service. I checked what I got at the store vs online, I mean really, for the cost of these things, I spent $20 more to get the great service at GameStop. Plus the system is crazy awesome! read more

I think that this GameStop truly embodies their motto "Power to the players" I don't feel bothered by being asked if I need help by every employee but after the second one its a bit excessive. I recently bought a preowned copy of Madden 16 and handed the cashier the standard edition, then he realized they had the deluxe edition for the same price with brand new codes.
