My boyfriend and I were greeted so nicely by the Owner, Kevin. He was delightful to talk to. My boyfriend being the talkative butterfly chatted with him while I browsed around the lounge. It is honestly like a Blockbuster! (Sad days...that Blockbusters are gone) HOWEVER, this Retro rental DVD place is the New Blockbuster in Tally hehe. Rental DVDs from classic to new movies & tv shows ! Before, I took pics about this place. I wanted to ask Kevin for his permission because I was not sure if Kevin would find it to be rude. He told me, "Nah go for it, but make sure to tag my business" So I went at it. I learned a coupe of things from checking his place out: - Renting DVD's varies -Theres a Rental Theater Room in the back of the place, it's like a secret door you got through! *** You can rent the place for 2 hours for $80; bring your dvd and bring whatever treats your heart desires*** [Oh!] The place even has sweets and freshly popped popcorn so you don't have to bring your own sweets & popcorn. Of course can't forget refreshers :) ---Kevin has it all! Overall, I am jelly that Tally has such a cool place to rent DVDs with such a cool Owner. I would definitely come back here to bring my friends to watch a movie!

This independent small theater and video lounge is every B-movie fan's dream. It's every horror…read morefan's dream. It's every arthouse cinema fan's dream. If you want somewhere to watch marathons of any of these kinds of films for a small fee, or if you want to rent a title that isn't immediately available on Hulu, Netflix, etc. this is an amazing place to go. This is *the* go-to place if you want to see classic John Carpenter or Lloyd Kaufman flicks and sometimes more offbeat and obscure titles back-to-back. There is a bar counter here that is set up like an old-timey soda fountain where you can sit and make small talk with your fellow fans of obscure and cult cinema (of whom at least a few are bound to show up). Live music events for alternative genres like punk and death rock are also sporadically a thing here: sometimes featuring local acts, sometimes featuring small label acts on tour. And if you're a fan of the style of artists like TSOL and The Damned, this is definitely going to be one of your go-to places in town and absolutely will be your scene. Bonus: hopefully this doesn't cross anyone's boundaries, but I gotta say the couple who run this place are extremely cool and attractive, and always wonderful to be around!

When you have kids that read a lot, this is the place to go for them to find more entertaining books and subject matters that they like. I'm a chef and I always go through the cookbooks and magazines to get new ideas for me and just love coming here with the family to load up on reading material. Although I do download audiobooks, collecting some sets is something I've always done with the kids from Harry Potter to the latest story, they have it here! You know how stores have a reward cards and you get points for shopping? Well so does FYE or so I…read morethought. I do not shop here often and rarely spend money. I was talked into getting their card that I was told was a rewards card. I was going through my bank transactions looking for something else and found that they were charging me 11.99 to have this card. Well I don't have credit cards or anything like that. I would not have gotten this card if the guy at the store would have told me about the 11.99!!! I called the help desk and the lady had me on the phone for 20 min trying to figure out how to spell my name then when I was put on hold so that she could find a supervisor she hung up on me. I called the other number that the guy at the store gave me and after going through another guy I ended up speaking to a supervisor. And he was able to give me a refund. Just be carful at this store.

Nice to see an oasis of literature. Not to mention, too, that they had a book reading listed to occur later that day. They also sell truffles, plus many different trinkets. T-shirts, kitschy socks, even "punny" hand sanitizer. No idea how I walked out without making a purchase. Would return if in the area.

This was my first visit to Midtown Reader to attend a discussion from Terah Shelton Harris for her…read morenewest book release. The store offered copies of the book for sale and Terah was gracious in signing and doing pics. The store also had a coffee shop upstairs which is a nice amenity. Terah was Target's 2025 author of the year, so it was a real treat that Midtown Reader was able to book her for an in person appearance. They have similar events with other authors and also feature different book clubs you can join with books they offer. This is definitely a great place to visit in town.
