Nice to see an oasis of literature. Not to mention, too, that they had a book reading listed to occur later that day. They also sell truffles, plus many different trinkets. When you have kids that read a lot, this is the place to go for them to find more entertaining books and subject matters that they like. I'm a chef and I always go through the cookbooks and magazines to get new ideas for me and just love coming here with the family to load up on reading material. Although I do download audiobooks, collecting some sets is something I've always done with the kids from Harry Potter to the latest story, they have it here! This small store sells fresh-brewed coffee, as well as publications from independent press companies. The selection is varied, and there's even a section of books specifically meant to read in house. The menu is small and straightforward, featuring less than ten items, all under $10. Seating is limited with about four tables, two couches and a coffee table. The store has a very cozy atmosphere and is a great place to sit and get work done if things aren't too busy. They do host events on some nights, such as readings, meetings and mic nights, all of which are posted on their Facebook page. Third House has an open hallway connecting it to Downtown Wine & Cheese next door. They are separately owned, but may have deals during events like Open Mic Night (50% off one glass of house wine). I enjoyed my time at Third House, and I hope to see the business thrive. They have my support for sure.

The store offered copies of the book for sale and Terah was gracious in signing and doing pics. The store also had a coffee shop upstairs which is a nice amenity. Terah was Target's 2025 author of the year, so it was a real treat that Midtown Reader was able to book her for an in person appearance. They have similar events with other authors and also feature different book clubs you can join with books they offer. This is definitely a great place to visit in town.

It has an upstairs sitting area which you can enjoy your slice of pie, have a coffee and read your next future book purchase.

(There is so e seating inside, tons outside) They have serve beverages...coffee, tea, sparking waters (the cardamom black tea was amazeballs) and have some baked good. Their offerings focus on banned books, and Floriduh has lots of banned books. They also have a pretty good autobiography section as well as history and current events. Of course a large chunk is fiction with some signed editions from the owner and other authors who have been in the shop. I of course took a signed edition of a Lauren Groff title home They also have fun stickers, mugs, bags, cards, totes, and others kinds of fun reading and writing accessories for very reasonable prices. Of course they have adorable little stuffed animals....as in lynxes. While there I also noticed fliers for various book groups, author events, readings etc. I believe they also collaborate with area libraries. Recently they gave away free copies of banned books at a local parade--activism for intellectual freedom is of utmost urgency!!! I LOVE this bookstore and I'm sad it opened when I am about to move out of town. I hope the rest of Gainesville will too and make it thrive because it is a gem. I've always passed this place for years and what caught my eye today was the one of the books I've…read morebeen eyeballing for years was included in the sidewalk sale. I went inside and was surprised on how much of a variety they have for good books besides the big box stores. Literally walls of books. I also thought it was unique how they priced their inventory (paper slip in the book). The fact that I got two books under $10 was a steal. The cashier was welcoming and was working throughout the store. I didn't get any actual pics inside but I'll definitely be back.
