No longer stocking Older games or systems on shelves. any older used games and consoles they get in a trade in they are throwing out, i do not know which D-Bag decided that either, but that's what they are doing. if you care about your older stuff do not bring it to THIS gamestop. you might have to travel out to a different gamestop or gamestore. straight up throwing out perfectly good games for older systems. all infavor of more space for F*Ing pokemon cards. kinda depressing use to be nice to go in and see older systems and games on the shelf, now HALF the store is f*ing pokemon cards. read more

Hands down, one of the worst retail customer experiences I've had. I called the Cheshire Rd, Pittsfield location on 12/11/24 because I saw online that there were 3 PS5 Disc Drives in-stock and wanted to make sure this wasn't an error, as I live an hour and a half way (in Enfield CT) and there were no PS5 Disc Drives in-stock at any of my local retailers so for this location to have 3 was out of the ordinary. A person named Eric answered the phone and I asked him if he could verify that the PS5 Disc Drives were indeed in-stock and not just an online error by laying eyes on them. He said he yes and placed the phone down. I then heard what sounded like someone patting their hands down on a desk top, then pausing for a few seconds, and then repeating. My 1st thought was that he was actually faking walking away and then back again but dismissed it because I simply didn't want to believe that. After picking the phone back up he told me that they did have them. I asked if I could pay for one over the phone and then pick it up tomorrow. He said no and that I'd need to order it online as "pick up in-store" and that it would be ready for pick up after that. So that's what I did. I then called back to verify that he saw the order and that I could pick it up the next day. He said he saw the order and that as soon as he was off the phone with me, he would bag it, put it aside for me, and that it would be there for me when I arrived. When I arrived the next day and told the person at the counter that I was here for the PS5 Disc Drive I ordered, I was told that they don't have any in-stock and that they've been having an issue with "on-line" saying they had them when they really don't. I told them about my conversation the day before with Eric and one of the gentlemen behind the counter went in the back to see if the actual did have them. They did not. The person who went in the back then tried calling Eric but he didn't answer. Then he texted him and apparently Eric texted back "that he was on the toilet." I didn't wait for a real answer. I'd already realized that I'd completely wasted 3 hours of my time since I had to drive an hour and a half back as well, as well as gas to and from. I was fuming and still am. I was completely clear with Eric on why I had called and he absolutely 100% assured me that he had physical checked to see if they had the PS5 Disc Drives in-stock. This is unacceptable conduct by one of your employees and this person does not deserve employment with you. read more

Didn't have the game I wanted (it was like 15 years old I didn't expect them too) but mike was very helpful on the phone.

The manager at this location is rude and provides terrible customer service. He's really incapable. I've spoken to GameStop on the phone & they were shocked at how I was spoken to and called it unacceptable behavior. I had a problem with a power cable I bought at this location. First, the box had already been opened. I should have taken it back right away, but there was a label that read "new" so I thought maybe it was ok. Benefit of the doubt, which ironically I would not be afforded. The manager was right, that I had returned more than 30 days after purchasing, but that was all he was interested in. He immediately took an accusatory and incredulous tone with me, and was dismissive, showing no interest in helping me. This was during the holidays and it was a horrible way to be treated. He asked, if I had had a problem with the cable right away, why hadn't I come back sooner? I don't live in the area. I had left the cable at my aunt's house, where they were going to use an older Xbox for streaming services and what not. The problem was noticed right away, there was a fan on the power block & it never turned off. 24/7 the fan was making noise, whether the console was on or not. I told my aunt to unplug and leave it, I would take care of the return when I got back. Which is what I attempted to do. I didn't realize there would be such an officious, unhelpful individual watching the shop. The young man at the cashier, Taylor, was very nice and asked his boss for guidance. He looked almost apologetic at the tone his boss took. So, after being chastised for my tardiness, I asked, is there anything you can do for me? The boss said, you can buy another one, in a very sarcastic tone. I said, what would that do? The one I have is useless. He said, the one you buy today would be new. I said, oh, like the one that I purchased, which said it was new but was already opened? He wasn't even there when I purchased the cable. He was uninformed and led with arrogance, totally the wrong way to go about this. As I mentioned, I've already spoken to GameStop on the phone and they completely agree, he was wrong to speak to me that way. I wouldn't normally waste my energy on a person who showed me no good-will, but I am of the opinion that even when the customer is wrong, the customer is always right. I bought a game from GAME STOP yesterday new and it was a gift for my son for his birthday - they talked me into the game i bought for $50 something dollars and Kyle opened it tried it out for 30 minutes and said I do not like it can you return it - well I figured same rule applies you have 7 days to return it - they wont give me the money back or store credit at Pittsfield GAME STOP - instead she offered me $21 for a game i paid $54 for yesterday. FUCK THAT. I need to know who to talk to for them to issue me a full refund or store credit. She was the store manager and she was RUDE. This is absolutely incredible if the people in this place don't keep there word and are rude then do not do business with them they stink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
