I must make it clear, the only reason why I am giving this game stop a 5 star review, is due to the incredible service provided to me by Robert S. Robert, thank you very much for your time and help. For the review, GameStop has entered into the trading card/ sport card world which I think is a fantastic idea considering they sell sports card and Pokemon cards. Recently, GameStop rolled out card grading services in partnership with PSA. Now, when you have a card collection, and you want to get your cards valued and appraised by PSA you may be hesitant to go to GameStop as you may fear the worst, such as them mishandling it, or not treating your cards with the respect they deserve etc... Well, let me be the first to say, you don't need to worry about that with this location. When I came in, I had approximately 60 high value cards that needed to be submitted for grading. When I came into the store, the team as a whole was very responsive, quick and kind to help me get my cards graded. Someone immediately assisted me, walked me through the process step by step and they were absolutely patient with me. Robert went above and beyond, he appreciated and respected the value and art of my cards better than I could have ever. He so delicately and with care laid them out one at a time, not rushing or being frantic with them, he cautiously handled them and was just an amazing person to work with. Bear in mind, I had 60 cards and GameStop requires their employees to photograph them 8 at a time, so he had to do 7 different piles to get the photos. At no point did he ever loose patience, at no point did he ever rush or do anything wrong. Robert was a phenomenal employee and I say this to all card collectors if you are looking to get your cards graded please head to this GameStop and please ask for Robert! If you've experienced a GameStop, you've pretty much experienced them all. What differentiates the different locations are the employees, the retail space, and selection. As compared to other locations, this particular store is pretty overwhelming. The retail space is small which, paired with the mall crowds, leads to lots of cramped space, shuffling around, and dodging patrons and displays. In my experience, lines are typically relatively long given the crowds and the limited staff. With a reduced number of staff and high foot traffic, checkout times are longer. Sadly, with Amazon, digital, etc, these brick and mortar stores need to rely on their customer service skills to keep customers coming back. Being understaffed forces you to miss that mark. I haven't ever struck up conversation with employees here because there aren't enough to do so. Plus, given the volume of customers, those working aren't easy to catch. That said, the store is clean and has the titles you would want. In a pinch, the place works for grabbing something if you're in the mall. However, I wouldn't go out of my way to shop here if I wasn't already there. Check out the Lyndhurst location, night and day difference. read more

I'm going to cancel my GameStop pro membership immediately. I walked in to see if they had products in stock and found they did. Unfortunately they weren't charging retail. They weren't even charging market prices. I could buy them on Facebook marketplace or eBay for much cheaper than in this store. It makes no sense. I didn't bother asking staff. The GameStop itself is ok, little crowded but that is to be expected with a mall location. By far the worst and most annoying part in that the employees do not answer the phone. I can multiple times a day at different hours trying to get an answer for something or to check availability but they never pick up. Someone's gotta get these employees in check. read more

As a gamer returning after 20 years, I decided to stop at the GameStop location in Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey to pick up a headset for my new Xbox. A nice man assisted, but unfortunately, he sold me an incompatible headset when asking him for a recommendation. After I realized the Incompatibility, I decided to call the original location and no one seems to answer the phone after multiple attempts. This is when I decided to go back and either return it or exchange it. This time upon my return, there was a very long Waiting line. The line wrapped around the entire store while only one employee was ringing customers at the cashier while the others were simply stocking. After waiting in line for about 30 minutes, I was finally tended to then to only be told they couldn't exchange my headset because I did not have the original receipt. I had proof of purchase on my credit card log and the original product in box. Not to mention that with today's modern technology, pulling up my receipt, shouldn't be an issue from only three days ago. After refusing to assist me I asked for a manager and was introduced to "Lily", who at first was reluctant to even give me her name. She too declined my exchange and was told that this was a GameStop policy. I have never encountered such terrible customer service especially around the holidays. Any store in that mall would've happily done me the favor. Instead, out of a nice gesture, I gifted my headset to a nice young boy standing in line that offered to take it when I announced a free headset due to GameStop offering terrible customer service and poor management. Either GameStop needs to adapt to times and offer better record keeping or customer service policies, or Lily needs to find a new career outside of management because a small gametop was too much for her to handle . read more

If you've been to one Game Stop, you've essentially been to them all. The only differences are usually the employees, the size of the store, and the pre-owned selections. This Game Stop was fairly small and at times annoying to maneuver past the customers and displays to get comfortable. It was busy as well, so it was at times aggravating walking around. The cuing area needs some adjustment, as there was some confusion as to whom was next. Say what you will about their prices and resell value - it's the same here. I generally tend to avoid Game Stop in general, but if I'm looking for a particular title and don't want to go online or to a place with limited titles (like Best Buy, Target, etc), then this is where Game Stop comes in. The employees here were friendly and accommodating. I've been to some in the past where the employees were rude or inept, but the ones here were on point and again, friendly. Located in the Westfield Garden State Plaza mall. I don't live in the area, but if I did and was compelled to go to a Game Stop, then I would have no problems coming back here again. read more

So first off, I had a poor experience my first time only receiving ten dollars for a sixty dollar game. I don't really know if I should blame the store though due to my experience at other stores in the chain being equivalent. The service I got was decent enough. At this place, however, you will get the attitude of people more interested in their phones, texting and avoiding conversations. Do not even bother stepping foot in the store. For a store packed with 6 employees they're behind the counter, back to the door on personal phone calls laughing it up and lounging around the stores. They aren't helpful and even when they ask help from others they say no. Checking out they left me with yes no answers or one word responses. At very least they have a good stock and selection which is how I find myself inside but I wouldn't recommend the store to even someone who's death wish it is. read more

I really can't wait till GameStop becomes another victim of the economic downturn of recent years. The employees are decent, but like all gamestops they suffer from one main problem, not enough staff in the store. This location usually has 1-2 people at least running the place. It sucks on Friday and Saturday with the heavy shopping traffic. Parking is also a nightmare at peek hours. Don't bother reserving anything, they will pressure you and talk your ear off, but they don't do midnight events at this location because of Paramus blue laws they'll make you go to some TGI Fridays 4-5 miles from the mall off 17.
