The owner Kevin is there a lot of the time and he's super knowledgeable about movie options. First, the cafe aspect. Excellent coffees and homemade tea blends. They also offer monthly specials (on the chalkboard outside) that are often really tasty. Kevin is also a great baker and makes all their treats from scratch onsite. The cheddar jalapeño scone is our favorite but everything we've ordered is consistently good and there's a variety every time we visit. Next, the movie rental aspect. Basically it's your friendly neighborhood Netflix back when Netflix was mailing DVDs to people. $20/month for unlimited rentals, no more than 2 out at a time, and Kevin is quick to buy new movies as soon as they're available. They also have a mini private theater you can rent out for events like birthdays or to watch events like the Oscar's or Super Bowl. I haven't used that yet but it's cool to know it's there. Great neighborhood staple and one of those little businesses that makes you feel glad to live in a city. Strongly recommend!

Not only is the coffee delicious, but it's so reasonably priced, which is such a rarity these days. They also have a microcinema where they hold screening events. Super happy to have a spot like this in the neighborhood!

It seems they offer a great sense of community and engagement with their regular clientele; it's always nice to see such a well loved shop. Every time I'm in, it seems like there's something new (products, events, etc). The staff are familiar; they used to run the other comic/game/collectible shop in town, before it started going down hill I'd assume. When I've asked for something they don't have, they've always ordered it for me or referred me to someone else who DOES have it - these guys aren't looking for sales; they're looking for happy customers. I hope to see the store continue to grow; I don't play table top games but I love graphic novels, comics, and all things nerdy, and they've made forays into just about every realm of geekdom. Not at all corporate; 100% community. If you're in Maynard, you simply must stop in.

Specifically, I've discussed with multiple staff members about having a disability and was delighted to hear that they would accommodate me but that fell short and was extremely uncomfortable at some of the events. A lot to improve here.

The owner is a pretty nice guy, offers cash / credit for trades that are decently reasonable. He doesn't seem to clean or test any of the inventory, but had a scenario where a game was defective and he let me swap it for something else. One thing of note is it's only open on weekends for a handful of hours, so just plan ahead if you want to check it out. Also make sure you have cash, as they don't accept card payments. Some decent prices on most games are generally around PriceCharting (owner always doublechecks on that if he didn't mark it up yet, but will give better prices than what's on there so that's great). Worth checking out if you're in the area!

While the store is tiny and a bit cramped, the owner seems to really pack in a ton of merchandise. Lots of used DVDs for $1, CDs, nicknacks and a tidy little corner of games. Game-wise, for the most part, you'll find plenty of the typical games circulating the retro market (lots of sports and children's titles) but we did manage to find a couple gems for a very reasonable and affordable price. (Especially after checking their market prices online shortly after.) The owner was super sweet and helpful even asking what type of games we were looking for. Since she rotates her inventory often I feel like if we were frequent customers in the area, we'd score some really great finds.
