There have been multiple occasions that I have gone in and been ignored by staff and stood around for ten minutes before anyone has said anything. There have been times where I am in the middle of a transaction and the employees will start talking to a coworker out of nowhere, slowing down my experience. If this was a one or two time thing I can understand, it gets busy, but every time I walk into this store I am appalled. There are other issues as well, such as them misrepresenting prices on games, having things out on the floor that aren't actually available, and very clearly not knowing the merchandise they are selling. I would give this place 0 stars if I could but I can't. Please do not go to this store, your money and time are better spent at another game stop location.

I drove 25 miles to pick it up. I arrived to the store about 20 minutes after I called them. I asked for the game, the male staff looked for the game in the computer, and started to search for the game in the drawers. After a few attempts, he told me that they don't have it. I told him that I just called and the other staff stated that they had multiple copies of it and had put one on hold for me. The male staff member became defensive and stated that they do not hold games for anyone. Then the female staff added that "they sold quickly." They made me feel like it was my fault that I came to the store for nothing. They did not apologize for wasting my time and money driving there, nor did they own up to the mistake they made for not actually searching for the copy of the game when I called. It clearly did not sell that fast in the 20 minutes between my call and arrival, since they were searching for it and did not know where the game would even be. The staff were rude and careless. Definitely need to learn how to do customer service.

They also take trade ins which is great. Staff was helpful and checked on us a few times to make sure we were finding everything we were looking for. Games are organized and easy to find. They have tons of pre order specials. Also there are a bunch of great accessories and stations to try out games. And don't forget to sign up for their rewards program.

I don't know if they see their customers as idiots but I no longer shop there. I called yesterday to see how much a used controller was. $50. I understand that they aren't cheap but you can buy a new wireless controller for the same price. You could buy a new wired controller for less than that. GameStop banks on you being naive and not having many options besides Walmart. I would rather buy from Walmart than a place that pretends to have you in their best interest. Also now that Ottumwa has Double Dragon gaming there's really no reason to go to GameStop.

When i said we weren't interested today but "maybe next time" she snapped at me and said not to interrupt her then continued to try and convince my boyfriend to sign up- completely disregarding me. She was really rude to me even after me and my boyfriend were very kind and respectful to her. Nothing against the store at all- just talk to your employees about how they should be talking to customers.

Took Funkos in that I didn't care about but knew the pricing, as an experiment, just to see how bad…read morethey really are. I've had bad interactions in the past. They took over $300 in Funkos for $60 without a per item desription of what they were paying per item. When I asked to see which ones he took ( they were stacked away in the corner) he hesitantly moved a couple and showed me the lower end ones. (Not the chases worth 40+ each.) I still sold because I wasn't done experimenting. I then called the next morning to see what the prices were (as an alias) and the top 4 magically were not there. My hypothesis is that they backdoor the ones they would like personally all while completely fucking you over. I would never sell to jays. I would never buy from jays. My loss is hopefully a warning to all others.
