Worst service I ever gotten at game stop try selling me a dirty disc and gave me 3 dollars for a brand new gta game bs!

Went in to sell a few games, including FF7 remake with a steelbook. After we left, we discovered he didn't give back the steelbook when asked, nor the receipt. Went back, dude insisted we never gave it to him, and when we asked for the receipt, he showed us one from the trash that didn't even have FF7 rung up, so he didn't even pay us for the game. I'm not a huge gamer and was gifted an XBox 360 a few years back. Every time I come here to buy games for myself or my kids the people that work here are super helpful and have never led me astray with game choices. It's because of them that I have Skyrim, a perfect game for myself and my 3 kids. For Christmas we got GTA 5 but didn't have enough storage on our XBox to play the game. Once again, Burien Game Stop helped me out. I called to find out what I needed to do and Mike walked me through the whole process, without once making me feel stupid (even when I didn't know which Xbox I own). I was looking for a PC-version of any Guitar Hero/Rock Band-esque type game online, and the Guitar Hero III/Aerosmith Bundle popped up. I found out that this location had it: (Phone call went 50% something like this) "Hi, do you guys gave a PC version for Guitar Hero III?" "Uhh, not sure, let me check.... um, no..." "Are you sure? It says you have it online..." "Let me look...ohh, yeah we do have it. I noticed it here on the bottom." "*rolls eyes* Ok, great. Please hold it for me. --Daren. Thanks." I go to pick it up and tell some chick up front I'm here to pick something up.... (I guess this thing has been sitting for so long in a not-so-hidden spot that staff just look right past it)... hm, I don't think we have it... the next girl (who I'm guessing answered phone) knew what I was talkin' bout. Gets it, sets on counter and rings me up... lala, am I s'posed to reach over and get it?---"Oh, sorry, here." ...one thing I noticed was that, even if it sat, the tape shouldn't look tampered with (like it was re-taped), and the inside shouldn't have a sticker sticking to something else... but w/e, don't care about stickers, and I'm enjoying myself with some hot licks. Went there for Black Friday shopping and waited from midnight till 7 am. My friend and I were 8th and 9th in line. Right when the door opens the person "first in line" let's his friend cut and go ahead of him. Since they only let one person in a time, I followed him in and told the manager what had happened, he told me to leave and stop causing a seem. Then a couple before tried to buy 2 for 1 household and go in separately. Again, I tried to tell the manager how they were taking advantage of the system and and again the manager told me to leave and stop causing a problem. All in all my self and the person in front of my did not get systems as they were 2 short due to the man who cut and couple that bought 2. Frankly, just very disappointed in the way the staff dealt with the issue and brushed me, as well as the other customers in line near me off. read more

In my opinion, The experience here depends on who is helping you. When I visited a few days ago, to purchase Skyrim, I was helped by Robert. I mentioned that there was no copies on the shelf and he went into the back room and came out with a copy for me. After this, we proceeded to talk for about half an hour about the Pros and Cons of the new gameplay engine that Bethesda studios is using. Overall, He was a great guy, and I will wait as long as it takes to be at his register if he is working when I visit. On the other end of the scales, There was a man working there by the name of Steven when Fable III was released. He was unhelpful, and after I had to pay an extra $30 for the game, because he had missed a number when I payed for it during the Pre-order. Not only that, but he denied that he was the one who helped me with the Pre-order, even though I had a receipt that labeled him as the cashier. I have seen him a few times since when I enter the store, and have waved the people behind me over to him to get help just to having to deal with him. read more

Bought a few games online. I could not install them in time because of a medical issue. One of the games wouldnt even install. The game has no scratches on it. They will not take it back. The person I talked to on the phone suggested I trade it in for 10 cents on the dollar. This way they can resell the broken game. They screwed over a disabled person. This location could have been great; but lately it just seems like they are in it for the money. They gave my partner a whopping 41 dollars for the Nintendo Wii Red edition which had tons of extras in it yet they sell them for almost 200 on their website. They are just trying to make huge profits. Brought my Amazing spiderman 2 video game here a few weeks ago and I was told I'd get twenty bucks for it max. Its on the shelf still going for 50 and its been out for almost 2 years. Ok? Way to make 30 off me. So I wanted to get the new spiderman game... they said buy it now pay 5 bucks reserve copy then come back and pay full price. Owner said again game will sell out. Guess what? I walked in here on release day.. tons of copies no line out the door, fred meyer and target had them. I'd rather give my money to Fred Meyer anyways because I can usually get a coupon. So for them to boldly lie? No thank you. I'll take my game business to offerup, amazon or FYE at the mall. Best to avoid this place. Came into the store on Wednesday to trade in 6 games. Spoke to an employee at the front about trading my games in, Mike was his name. I let him take a look at the games i was selling while browse the store. After a fews minutes he had called me over to let me know that Gamestop have a deal for trade-ins on the weekend and suggested me to come back for a better deal. Give Mike a raise lol read more

I'm new to video games and my friends and I came in to this location to buy a 3DsXL. The two guys who were working were really great! It was a guy with short reddish hair and a guy with long brown hair. They were very welcoming and friendly, and were able to answer all our questions and suggest games. I have to admit I was worried about looking stupid and not knowing what to get, but I appreciated how nonjudgmental and helpful the employees were. I would probably go out of my way to stop back for games because of the good customer service. read more

nice guys working there ... won't buy anything used from them though... bought a few things over the years there and had them be faulty many of which were controllers the last straw was buying a used 360 headset last night for 15 dollars but walked out without my receipt as it was already 8:30 and I was in a rush to get home... got home and the used headset that I purchased from them.... was a broken headset... that's when I realized I didn't have my receipt... This morning as I was without a receipt I opened up the headset to find that a speaker wire was ripped from it's connection. now if the headset was tested before they tried to sell it they would have realized this but it wasn't. again the only reason this location get's more than a star is because the employees are friendly and helpful. I was able to solder the connections back together and make it work but that's besides the point I shouldn't have to do that. this location's quality control is notoriously bad and has been for years. would recommend requesting to test anything used you buy from them before you walk out the door especially as their used items are extremely overpriced. read more
