I literally went in to buy a controller and when I asked if one of the cashiers could bring it off the hook the cashier told me he can't reach it told me "If I can't reach it and you can't I don't know what to tell you then". And dismissed me with a rude tone of voice. And on-top of that the place smelt sour. read more

A lot of items on sale. Awesome customer service more than 3 people on the floor working. The line was pretty long but no more than 15 mintues. A lot of items were in stock that I needed. Like usual this place is close to mass transit. There are some unusually large amounts of homeless in the area. I was a little shocked because I felt like it was the 80s all over again. read more

**THIS IS THE ONLY (EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS) REVIEW YOU NEED TO READ FOR 2024 & BEYOND** Let me just first say that i am a former employee of GS (another location - from 2023-2024) & the store mgr, Chris, for this store & Knickerbocker ave (he has both stores) is the most unapproachable human being & there are many other GS employees (like my prior supervisor) who feel the same way about him. I went in to return a preowned game that i received in the mail & was immediately told that they go based of the purchase date - not delivery date. He then pretended to call his district mgr (there was no background noise - so i know he was lying) asking him the same question. Afterwards, i told him that he was wrong because i use to work for GS & i also spoke to customer service - they go based off the delivery date. He then snapped & said "ok, you can leave my store & call customer service for this, i dont need to help you". In most cases, a customer would be pretty upset & snap back, but i kept my cool, called customer service, they said they are going to let his DM know about his performance, & assist me in the best possible way with my return (which they did ASAP). & the cherry on top, he was greeting other customers afterwards, meanwhile he wasnt even greeting anyone for the entire time i was there, he was complaining about his stores metrics & how it doesnt make sense how they are ranked ~600 (which is terrible - especially for both stores). In all honesty, BOTH - GRAHAM STORE & KNICKERBOCKER SHOULD BE AVOIDED! Even all his employees that work under him are picking up from his bad habits (which is why they are all rude & dont want to help anyone). & yes, i've been to both stores many many times - this is exactly how they treat everyone that walks in. Take my advice with the largest grain of salt & you will not ever be disappointed. If you need to buy, sell, trade, return, exchange, pick up, AVOID THESE 2 LOCATIONS - YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! read more

worst GameStop ever, She will try to cheat you out of your money, by NOT applying the pro member discount, and charging you full price FOR THE ITEM then putting in the pro discount after you walk away, also you will try to charge you 2 x by ringing up the item 2 x keep your eye on her if you go to this store. read more

One of my all time favorite GameStop locations that are actually still open for business. The manager of this location is so cool all of his staff are properly trained and completely professional in a video game environment. It's a good place to go and find out the latest greatest on video games and accessories, catch up on some classic games and all the new stuff. This is my home store I would recommend any and everyone to go there. Every time I visit this location they always have what I need. They're always taking care of my needs and I appreciate that. read more

What a terrible store. Some of the worse service I've ever come across in retail. These people don't answer the phone, and they have extremely limited products. This forces you to visit the location rather than find out if they have anything (which in most cases they do not.) I purchased a PS4 controller (used, because I traveled pretty far and couldn't call ahead to check product availability...) when I purchased the product it was $65.00 and pre-owned. When I tried using it the left joystick was broken. I'd take my chances with street vendors over this location. In other areas GameStop has excellent service. This team on the other hand is bottom of the barrel. I feel sorry for GameStop's brand due to locations like this. I visited a indie game store in Greenpoint the next day. It's a cross between a music store & a video game store (on Manhattan Ave.) They had multiple brand new controllers in different colors from Sony in the box at $65.00. GameStop doesn't deserve to be saved. They acted as if they were the end all solution to gamers & the digital market crushed them! Now they resort to buying broken/used products for pennies on the dollar only then to sell them at 2013 prices. This was the 1st time I went to GameStop in years as I usually just purchase my consoles when they drop, but after this visit, I'll never spend another dollar with this company. They're probably the most obsolete business within gaming/media/technology. Go literally anywhere else but here, and if you must... definitely visit another GameStop location. "Thank you Mario, but our Princess is in another castle." Thats how I felt for weeks about this place till Black Friday when I got my very own Wii. Whoa. Gimme a sec shivers down the spine. Ok. The selection is good, a lot of used games and all the heavy hitters. But sometimes that line takes forever. read more

Enough! I don't know what bothers me more-- my experience at this store or the fact that Yelp has listed the neighborhood as "East Williamsburg", this is definitely Bushwick. People are taking it upon themselves to rename and redefine borders of entire neighborhoods to make these areas seem less offensive and more appealing to my newly migrated hipster neighbors. No worries, you don't have to clutch your purse while walking down the street here. It's also most certainly okay to make eye contact with passing strangers. Just don't call Bushwick, East Williamsburg. I can no longer guarantee your safety if you do. -climbs down from soapbox, checks lipstick, adjusts boobage, fluffs hair- Anywho, Game Stop. Eh, this store smells like a dirty daycare center. It was filthy! I stood on line for 20 minutes just to speak to an employee because no one was on the sales floor. Literally the worse Gamestop in the neighborhood Every time you try to contact the place nobody picks up. Then when you do finally get someone to pick up the phone they like to communicate with you like if they try to belittle you like you're dumb or stupid. Going there in person is even worse. Horrible customer services. Nobody really wants to help. They assume that everyone should just enter in their store like if everything is else explained when it's not. Just recently also I found out they dont even contact you when a preorder that you personally purchase with your own money even comes out or close to coming out. Also! They sell your preorder to other people that is so unfair and totally wrong. By rules and regulations preorders only suppose to belong to the buyer that place in that preorder. Hence why they get a receipt and everything to prove that item is guarantee theirs. They treat people so awful and so much disrespect. As of someone like myself that honestly used to praise that store growing up through my childhood I myself now wish that place just gets torn down completely. Either get rid of that whole staff because they don't deserve their positions none of them or just that whole Gamestop should go out of business. I myself know for a fact I'm not the only person that feel this passionate on how much I really dislike this place. Every time I go into this store the wait time is ridiculous. The staff is hit or miss. I sometimes get a friendly person and other times I get someone who should not be working with the public. Despite these flaws I still would purchase my games from here because I prefer to buy games in person but I refuse to step into this store now. My last visit here I once again waited on line for about 20 minutes. Before I got to the register I saw a young man walk back in to the store to ask for something to be removed from his purchase because it was added and he was not asked if he wanted it. When I finished my purchase I checked my receipt because of the incident that just happened and saw that the sales rep added the warranty protection onto the three games I had purchased. I wasn't asked if I would like it, he just took it upon himself to charge me extra. At two dollars each it was a total of six. I didn't make a big fuss about it but that six dollars just cost them anymore business from me and I make it a point to tell anyone I see going into the store that they are dishonest. This is by far one of the worst GameStop locations. I've been calling this particular store every single day, about a dozen times a day at varied times, for about a week now and no one ever answers the phones. I've already emailed customer service and it doesn't seem to have changed anything. Reading prior reviews of the store I can see others have experienced similar experiences. Absolutely despicable employees if you ask me! Why bother hiring such terrible staff who are clearly not interested in providing customer service? Seems like a major waste imo. I'm a Bronx resident and have been trying to inquire about a particular item that states there is 1 in stock online and I want to confirm before taking the trip all the way out to BK and wasting gas and tolls for no reason. It's a damn shame that no one has the common decency to answer a simply phone call though. These people should be ashamed at themselves. If I could give it zero stars I would. Management really needs to look into what the staff is doing there during business hours and corporate should be investigating as well. I will definitely be seeing who I can reach out to in terms of corporate to lodge a more concrete complaint. Because clearly these prior complaints are falling on deaf ears and I know plenty of people who are looking for jobs that would be happy to work for GameStop that would provide 10x better customer service. read more

The 1,5 star average rating for this place is not fair. It is just like any other GameStop I have ever been to. Good selection and friendly staff. However, they can be a bit understaffed and very slow - standing in line can take 15-30 minutes. read more

I was on the hunt for Funko Pops and came here. The store was sort of in a wreck, and the selection was not very exciting - this goes for Pops and games. In regards to the Pops, it was disappointing to see that some of their boxes were in terrible condition; they were either torn open or incredibly scruffed up. I did, however, find some gems and got a lot of bang for the buck. Another unfortunate factor would be the long wait in line. The staff was very affable, but not entirely quick on their feet. There was only one employee ringing up customers while the other seemed to be checking inventory or stocking up shelves. Working in retail for quite some time, I would have helped my fellow co-worker and rung up customers, and then go back to my duties. Perhaps I'll give this GameStop another chance when it's not so busy or the week after Black Friday. read more

Came into this game stop today to buy a new Nintendo switch as well as a few games and accessories. The employees purposely made the transaction as difficult and slow as possible so I walked out of the store and bought nothing. Avoid this location at any cost until they clean house of the bad employees and management. Bummed I cant play any new games tonight. read more

Wow the line in this store was insane. At first I thought it was because business was booming, but I was wrong. The sheer level of incompetence and stand offish nature of the staff makes for long lines. For each customer serviced, a cashier would either talk them up or vanish to look for something for an exorbitant amount of time. When I wanted to know if they had a game in stock because I preferred not to wait on a the daunting line I was given a cold look and asked to get on line. After waiting on line and then it being my turn, the rep quickly answered no and non nonchalantly called next. Wow! There was no, I can look in another store? No, we're getting a new shipment soon? No I'm sorry sir we don't have that game perhaps you'd like...? I know I don't live in some posh location were good service is paramount to business but it's sad to see a simple, crappy job made even crappier by the miserable people who work there and feel the need to share the wealth of their misfortune with their bad customer service and poor management. Fail, fail all around, avoid like the plague or even better buy online. read more

My sister asked me to watch my nephew since she had to work. Although he is a teenage he hates staying home by himself. After being inside most of the morning I decided to walk to the ATM machine in Woodhull Hospital. Of course my nephew popped the big question "Can we go to Game Stop?". Reluctantly I said "yes", hoping that it would be a better experience today. He found the game he wanted easily. That is usually the case at that store and only 4 people in front of him on line with two already at the cashier being help. Oh the excitement I would be out of the store in about 15 minutes. But this store never seems to let me down when it comes to the waiting and waiting and waiting. An hour later I'm on my way home. RIDICULOUS!!! read more
