I always search a GameStop when I see one. No matter where the location may be, I stop in and usually browse the games real quick and keep it moving. But something on this day made me come back. I had this nagging feeling that I needed to grab a game for the long weekend ahead. I did a lap around the mall and since I had to come back this way to get to my vehicle, I stopped back in. I browsed the games more thoroughly this time. A few caught my eye and I settled on one. Not a bad price either. That got better when I went to check out. I got to the register and started the process. I always forget that I signed up for their reward program and each time they ask me if I want to use my rewards. I don't shop often for games, but I guess I did the past year. With the monthly coupon and my rewards, the game I selected was nearly half off. I cannot complain about that. It was funny that when they looked me up in the system and they wanted to verify who I was all I said was my first name. Then there was a pause and I could tell they were trying to pronounce my last name. I said my last name and told them that it's ok, no one ever pronounces it correctly. Ever. We had a good laugh and compared last names. I could not say the last name of the one staffer and knew she understood the pain. I was asked if I wanted to get the warranty for the game, I declined. Is it weird that whenever I go into a Gamestop I feel like I'm traveling back in time? It feels like a Blockbuster with just video games. That said, I've never really been impressed with the organization of the store... nor the layout... nor the look... nor the cleanliness. It also feels like it could be a booth at Awesome Con. Like it was just set up in a day. These are just the feelings I get. Walking into an Apple Store: Feels like walking into the future Walking into a Game Stop: Feels like I'm an actor on a Stranger Things set Me and a friend walked into the store and mosied around a bit. The gentlemen behind the desk at the front didn't really ask if we needed anything nor tried to provide customer service at any point. We were in the store alone for more than hot second or two... so I found it just a tad bit odd. I asked one of the employees if he knew when the new Zelda Breath Of The Wild was coming out and he was friendly in his answer - letting me know that there is no official date and that his best guess was next spring. The rating more so isn't for the lack of customer service... but generally the shopping experience. I guess that's not what gamers are looking for? Game Stop is the only game in town (pun intended) for video games right? I don't know... I just guess my experience there just left me feeling a bit meh. read more

Like the new location in the mall. I am aware that the shop has been there for a while now, but this spacing seems more appropriate. I noticed more toys are taking over where some of the old gaming systems use to be. The staff member greeted me when I walked in which was nice. I noticed the new Assassins creed game and thought to myself this one came out fast. I just started playing Asssssins Creed Unity and love the freestyle climbing. Love the Musketeers outfits too...except the feather on the hood....should be on a hat. Looking forward to seeing what the new game has to offer. Gamestop is a great buy games, but the trade off isn't always the best. I just depends on what the trade offer is and how bad you wish to get rid of the game(s) you have. Love the Gamestop card's new look. The rewards are now better when you buy and trade games than in the past. Paying $14 for a year gives you your money back very quickly. The biggest change I have seen since Game open its doors to opens are more female gamers and staff members working there. read more

I don't really get why this location has poor reviews. I like the employees here. They are your true gamers, who aren't very judgey (like a lot of pure gamers can be). They're knowledgeable and make everything very easy to find. Now it is a very small location in comparison to some other locations, BUT there are also much smaller GameStops that exist in the same county (for example; Wheaton mall). It's well organized and every time I've been here, it's neat and clean. Most other locations have stuff on the floor and everything is mixed up. Always have a full stock of every game, new or old, and if you don't see it out front, just ask. Most likely, they can help you out. Not a bad location at all. Basic GameStop. Games, equipment, and other stuff packed into every nook and cranny, and piled on available surfaces. Inventory is typically quite decent and despite other reviews, staff seem fine and are friendly enough. (I mean, hey, it's a retail job and they have to deal with all sorts of people all day. Who's going to be vying for Mr Congeniality of the Year under those conditions?) read more

I love video games (I know, so many people are going to be like "whaa?" when they see this). I love playing. I love watching people play. In fact, back in the day, the greatest turn on for me, was having a guy ignore me to play a game (more hot if he's able to beat me at said game...::drool::)... But I don't look like a gamer, I don't talk like a gamer - so no one ever suspects me of being a gamer. Which is why I guess the sales clerk at this Gamestop felt the need to talk down to me while I explained what we needed. We had a Wii...and during a tragic vaccuming incident, the Wii had a great fall (personally, I think this was just my husband's way out of ever vaccuming again). And like Humpty Dumpty, all of the King's horses and all of the King's men, couldn't put our poor little Wii back together again. But since we don't play on the Wii that often (mostly just for Guitar Hero and Rock Band), we didn't want to blow $200 on a new Wii. We saw that Gamestop had a used one for about $120, so we wandered in to see if they had a used one in stock. Now, I get that as a sales clerk, one needs to upsell a customer. But when the customer walks in, tells you exactly what they want - and why they want it...trying to upsell me on a brand new Wii that comes with 2 games that I already own, isn't much of an incentive you understand? And just repeating what you said about the games several times in a row as if I'm a retarded girl isn't going to win you any points either. However, once he got it through his head that I'm buying the used Wii - he was pretty fast and efficent. read more

Overall a terrible experience -- a bunch of crooks. I went in to browse for games and they ended up having one I was interested in... or so their system said. Apparently, they did not have it. The salesperson said that they could have one mailed to me, and I asked why I couldn't just order it online rather than in-store. The salesperson said that online they would charge me shipping, which I took to mean that they wouldn't charge me shipping if I ordered in-store. When he finalized the order, he came to me and it was much more than I had expected. I asked why, and he said there actually was shipping and tax (but the receipt wasn't itemized). I decided to buy it anyway because there was really no other option than to pay the shipping. Anyway, the next day I checked my order online, and found that I had also been charged for a product protection plan that I neither asked for nor was told about! I had even asked them about why the cost was higher than expected, and the salesperson completely omitted it. I called corporate and they said they couldn't refund me to my original form of payment, I could just get a $2 gift card to Gamestop -- as if I want to buy from them again! I called the store and they said I would have to drive down to the store (or another Gamestop) to get the thing that they added onto my purchase without my permission refunded to my original payment. Anyway, the supervisor at the store I talked to said that they would talk to the salesperson, but personally, I think they are doing this on purpose, hoping that customers won't go through the hassle of returning an item that they did not agree to purchase because it's only a few dollars. At any rate, I would recommend either not going to Gamestop if possible, and finding a different one if you must. Really just bad sales practices that hurt the customer. read more

This location doesn't deserve even 1 star but yelp doesn't let you do that. Rude employees and disrespectful came to return a game that was never opened and they asked me if it had a sticker on it I didn't know what they were talking about. That was such an odd question they asked. How is a customer suppose to know about that? They questioned me like I was a criminal and accused me of trying to return an already used game. Never had an issue with customers service like this before I actually wish now I had called corporate. Just from this experience I would never come back to this place ever again. Called 3x on Tuesday September 6, 2016 at around 7:40pm to check if they had a game in stock, was planning on swinging by to pick it up. The first time I called phone rang about 10 times - no answer. Second time I called a gentleman named Brady picked up and put me on hold, but I got hung up on instead. So I called a 3rd time.. 8 rings, nobody picks up. I understand retail stores can be busy at times but that amount of disrespect over the phone for a simple request will not go unnoticed. Customers over the phone are still customers. I won't be spending a dime here and recommend you visit any other Gamestop for more reliable customer service. read more

I have two kids so inevitably we find our way to GameStop, I shopped here once last summer and got great service when looking to trade in our Wii for a new black one. But last week we visited one morning and the service was horrible. There was only one associate working and she ignored us the entire time we were in the store. When we were ready to purchase she was rude and pushy, and we ended up walking out without buying anything. Sadly I won't be returning to this store again or recommending. read more

One of the worst locations I've ever been to. Lots of pressure on customers! The fellow with the tattoos who looks like blonde Snoop Dog is the worst employee of all time. He won't take no for an answer and is very rude and lacks respect and customer service skills. All they care about here is making a buck off you regardless of your satisfaction or happiness. I recommend going to Federal Plaza instead of here.. Much more laid back environment with employees who actually care about customers. read more
