It's the large space formerly occupied by Pier 1, and they have transformed this into a spacious and amazing media store! 2nd & Charles is a subsidiary of Books-A-Million, and like its parent store, they sell lots of books! This includes used books, which have been in short supply in this area since Cottonwood Books sadly closed. However, this store has lots more! I saw pretty much every kind of physical media represented, as well as lots of cards and pop culture collectibles. There were magazines, comics, music (including vinyl, movies, and even some musical instruments! The staff were going about asking customers if they needed assistance, and there was a line of people checking out with their newly found books and other items. Everyone seemed to be happy with this new business when I visited. I'm glad to see new businesses coming into Baton Rouge, especially book-related businesses!

Awesome sales, great products, well stocked and good supply and quality of items…read more My problem stems from the poor attitude from the cashier Tailynn. She never greeted me, started snatching things from the counter, spoke very choppy and just inept for this position. She should be stocking shelves where there is no direct customer service. This is perhaps the main reason why I choose not to visit certain stores and/or their locations. This is a first time bad experience at any Hobby Lobby and I'm a regular customer. I'm not from this area, thank God because I would avoid this location like the plague. While I love Hobby Lobby overall, it's employees like this, with horrible dispositions that make the shopping experience less enjoyable. Tailynn needs to take her TAIL over to Burger King because most people don't expect good customer service there. Just a huge disappointment for what started out as a good shopping day.

I have gone back several times during this holiday season, and it's been a pleasant experience each time.

I really like how the framing department keeps all of your information in regards to the exact size, frame used, and mat colors of each thing you get done. I have three LSU championship newspaper covers, and I need them all to match even though they are different sizes. Michaels does a fantastic job when it comes to that. All of the newspapers are perfectly preserved just the way I like them and make a fantastic addition to my office. The only thing I don't like about the framing department is that they told me one day and kept pushing back my pick up date, even when I needed it on the date they originally told me. I had to call to get this info, they didn't readily give it to me. Also, they stopped doing the wiring on the back of the frames. I can't hang things perfectly on the wall without the wiring, so when I recently picked up I insisted that the wiring be put on the back. This is also something they don't readily tell you. There is a small sign on the corner of the desk, but not quite visible. I just wished they communicated better with their customers with the amount of money that I am paying. Overall, a great experience and the best way to get my valuable items preserved!

The store was small but with a good selection of comics, including some nice older wall books, a couple rows of long boxes, & a decent selection of new books. He continued his conversation with a regular customer about old sci-fi episodes. Eavesdropping on their conversation made me feel right at home. Just like my local comic book store. I ended up buying a copy of Captain Marvel 17 & Thanos 14. They were having a 15% off sale on back issues. Next time I pass through Baton Rouge, I'll be sure to stop by.

Well I walked to the pawn shop to look at guns and tools amongst other things just looking mainly. Well after looking at tools and guns I purchased a Porter Cable tools set. It was a drill, a bag, flashlight, trim nail gun battery operated and I believe the last one was a sawzall? When I seen the bag on the shelf it had a flashlight and a trimnail gun in it. When I went to the counter I had all the items in the bag. I had put the other two in there, they were two shelves down by themselves. I told the owner at the counter that I want all of these items and he can have the flashlight back if you want it. I put it next to him. They told me $220 and paid him. Shopped for over an hour there. While I shopped, the helper (we will call him RAINMAN)got aggravated at me probably because I looked at a few different guns and probably assumed I wasn't going to buy anything or I had rushed out the house this morning for my dentist appointment and was dressed like a bum. Well He did not want to hand me the AR one time and he fussed me!! He told me not to take it apart in the store?? And I told him not to insult me and knew that He treated me like I knew nothing about gun etiquette l He was disrespectful. I told "RainMan" about himself and he argued with me that he was a good Customer Service person, LoL Go Figure. Well after the purchase I asked the owner to put my tools back in the bag. Well he didn't so I did. I probably stayed there for a good 10 minutes after and while I was standing there at the counter I asked "RainMan" a question. While up there "RainMan" started saying the drill isn't mine and proceeded to pull the drill that I just purchased out of my bag and was saying that this item doesn't go with this bundle!?!?!? Well, "RainMan" was taking it out of my bag, lol I grabbed my tool as well. So "RainMan" and I were both pulling over the drill. Now "RainMan"is kind of old and grumpy so when I was pulling I was not pulling with all my might. But I fell short today God, I apologize, I did get great satisfaction in pissing "RainMan"the hell off during this episode. He proceeded to start screaming help!! help!! help!! He's stealing!! Now I'm sorry but "RainMan" looked like he was trying out for a part on a "Soap Opera" It was Soo "Fake". "RainMan was so Dramatic!! LMFAO Now the owner started coming up. The Owner(we'll call him "Boss" was nonchalant saying something like "Oh we can't have this going on in here." I thought that "Boss" was talking to "RainMan" because "RainMan" took it out of "my" bag!! But NO!! "Boss" was telling "ME ", "Your Stealing!! Get out of here!!" Now I don't even think I had left the counter but I know the Bag with tools has never left the counter since I purchased it and "I" DID NOT put anything IN to the BAG that i didn't buy. Also it had been about 10 minutes after the purchase and was talking to"RainMan" Now FIRST, I DO NOT STEAL!!! SECOND, I never knew they had bundles??? THIRD, It is your store how am I supposed to know that they have bundles if you don't even know????? FOURTH, You are taking MY PROPERTY!! I PAID FOR ALL OF THEM!! BOTH OF YOU SEEN AND TOUCHED THEM ALL!!! I WANTED EVERYTHING!!! I SHOWED BOTH "OWNER" and "RAINMAN"!!!! In the past I have done a lot of business with "Gold'N'Guns" I have NEVER had this happen!??!? BUT, The Father who used to run it passed awayGood Man!! As I realized he was talking to me Boss took the bag went to the register and started giving me my money back. Then he starts hollering at me and telling me I'm stealing, while "RainMan" is threatening to call the cops on me, while I'm trying to explain to them that I had no clue that it was a bundle!?!?! I would even pay for extra item, which I really should not have to do. I understand people sometimes make mistakes but as far as I'm concerned when I get treated like this for what looked like miscommunication YOU HAVE TO BE CRAZY IF YOU THINK I WOULD NOT POST THIS ON EVERY DIFFERENT REVIEW I POSSIBLY CAN!!!! BY THE WAY YOUR SECURITY TAPE WILL PLAY THE SAME STORY!!! This was Soo upsetting and such a horrible experience that I could not stop thinking about it, I feel like I was discriminated against because I looked poor!!!! I don't even like posting after feeling this embarrassed but it needed to be made aware how they run their business ! Regrets
