Games specialty shops use to be inhabited by the sort of people who played Dungeons and Dragons. Not so anymore. When I visited this shop on Saturday, it was so packed out with Christmas shoppers I could barely squeeze through the door.
It's hardly surprisingly as Games World stock a wide range of board games, puzzles, figurines and game related paraphernalia.
My family and I are board game addicts who will research the latest board game forums for the best and latest games. Before buying online, I always check to see if the Games Shop stock what I'm after. Nine times out of ten they do or else they're willing to order it in at a price I'm willing to pay.
If you want something a bit more challenging than Monopoly or Cluedo, try Carcasonne or any of the Settlers of Catan series. If you fancy yourself a bit of an expert gamer, I recently purchased Castle Ravenloft. It's great once you get into it but complicated to learn all the rules.
As I lined up to pay for my purchases, I couldn't help grinning at the enthusiastic 'Caaawwwww!' and 'Drrrroooool!' from young kids and adults alike. It just goes to show there's never an upper age limit on games. read more
