I purchased a game from Mind games recently and when I unwrapped the box from its plastic cover, I realised that I just paid $25 (on sale) for a couple of straws, a plastic golf size ball, a couple of notebooks, dice, 2 crayons, an eye patch, a booklet and 2 packs of cards. These are the contents sold under the name "101 drinking games". I already have a few packs of cards at home, a variety of crayons and straws, and I got no doubt that google would offer me a variety of drinking games instructions to incorporate all these items in a game, if THAT WAS WHAT I WANTED. The store claims to offer an exchange but there is a catch. Because I opened the plastic covering, the store will not honour the refund/exchange service. Of course, I hoped that reason would prevail. After all, how else would a customer find out whether the game is what they wanted until they open the box to see what's inside? There is actually no reason for the wrapping plastic cover. A couple of stickers would do just fine to keep the box UN-opened and intact during transits. Then the customer would be able to carefully view the contents of the game without actually 'damaging' its wrapping. All the items inside the box are sealed as well, so the game is actually intact. UNUSED. But the store management still refused me a refund. Officeworks is one of the stores that offers refunds/exchanges even for items that are removed from their plastic seals. Why doesn't 'Mind Games'? The plastic wrap can actually be replaced IF that's what they wanted. It would cost them next to nothing. I even told the management that i was happy to pick up another game from their store but no, this did not sound reasonable to them. So now, I am left with no choice but to purchase from ebay. I have found the game I would have happily exchanged '101 drinking games' for. I am $25 shorter though. I hope it's all worth it for the Mind games' management. read more
