The first time I went I was originally a little concerned based on the sketchy look from the inside. I noticed a lack in numismatic items. Instead of older coins, the walls were filled with gold-plated and colorized coins. Although, the prices made up for the immediate drawbacks. The owner was willing to give dated buffalo nickels at a quarter each. This was about the only product priced reasonably. That was the sole reason that made me think that I should comeback The second time I went I was hoping to buy a variety of coins, but was met with absurdly high prices. Highly circulated, common wheat cents were priced at a dollar each. ASEs were priced at $27.00. I asked how this was reasonable due to the fact that silver was around 16.50 an ounce. The unfriendly worker replied by saying that they couldn't put any silver near spot because they needed to make money. I found this comment absurd due to the fact that silver can be easily bought for less than $5.00 plus spot. I tried again to buy other American coins but there were none to be found besides plated and colored coins. The only foreign coins were also around 3 times the price seen at other stores. I will not be going back. I do not understand how such a business cannot go bankrupt besides the fact that they are the only coin store in mount pleasant.
