This place is what an arcade should be. Love going here. Went here with family and it's a lovely experience. The games break down but the staff fix them quickly or reimburse, they're incredibly good with their service. The drinks are great, the games are fun, the food is delicious, and it doesn't close till 3am. What is not to like? There's 2 levels of games of all kinds for all numbers of people. Only giving this a "maybe" rating because my husband and I literally only drove by it by accident. Regardless, we will definitely be back to visit and I will give my full rating. I'm so excited for Alton - this place looks awesome! A good mix of adult and family fun. The bar area had a row of alcoholic slushies which I'm super excited to try! The food menu appeared to be extensive enough - wings, pizza, fries - what you'd expect at an event center. The service itself appeared to be pretty quick as they kept calling out orders. The building itself (split level with a basement) had games on each floor! I'm talking about Mario Kart, Guitar Hero, Connect 4, VR gaming, old school arcade games, pinball, racing, karaoke. The atmosphere, and the variety and amount of games are great. Seating is good when its not crowded. We did encounter a problem. We ordered the deal for a group where you can get 2 hours of unlimited game time, three pizzas and drinks. Was a good deal for the party of 9 that we had. It came out to $32.00/ Per person. We wear told that our pizzas would be ready at 7:30. We stood in line for about 10 minutes and a guy comes up and says that they have already sent the pizzas out. We were not understanding that, because if you took or name down and they didn't have a table number, WHO did you give our order too? They had the cleaning guy taking pizza orders to people. That's unsanitary, then the guy behind the counter says "I don't know where your pizzas went we just make them, its out of my hands" in a very asshole' ish manner. After we said, "we're not understanding how this could have happened.If you took our name down" he says " WELL YOU CAN GET A REFUND OR WAIT ANOTHER 30 MINUTES FOR THE PIZZAS!" In a VERY rude tone. He never once apologized or showed any type of compassion. He was getting frustrated quickly, we never raised our voice, and we never disrespected him. His conflict resolution is horrible, maybe he shouldn't deal with customers because of his temperment. We went to the bar and explained our situation to the gentleman behind the bar, nd he was very compassionate. He also got a resolution in less time than it took for the guy to be an asshole to us. So kudos to the bartender, he was wonderful. He was calm, and refused the situation, so we are thankful for him. The pizza was like any other generic pizza you would get at a bar or arcade. The crust was somewhat thick. It had loads of cheese on it. The toppings were you were okay. We had sausage, a cheese on and a pepperoni. We had wanted, but we accepted it. One, which was not our original order of toppings. It should have been cooked longer because it was somewhat doughy. The wings I'd give a five, we audit the non breaded garlic, parmesan wings, and it was basically like they just put the wings in a deep fryer, and then roll them around in this creamy, like parmesan sauce. It was not appetizing at all. The wings were rather large and under cooked. Fries were okay. So if you like or K games and your family like to go out and do things just for a day night, it's a cool place to go to. They have a bar with numerous amounts of options. The drinks I would say was a ten The pizza would say it was a six. The wings, I will say it was a four. The variety of games, i will give it a 10. The Bartender, I will give him a 10, the guy with attitude, I would give him a 2. This place is HUGE! Looks can be deceiving because it looks so small when you walk in. Worth the 40-minute drive! If you're ever doing a day trip in Grafton and you pass through Alton, please stop here if you have young ones! Their prices are super affordable! We got a 16" pizza and loaded nachos, a fountain soda and a cup of ranch which totaled to no more than $25 and it fed my family of 4! We bought the $20 game card and it had so many credits on it, we were entertained and played games for almost an hour and a half. There were all kinds of games, retro games, racing games, photo booths , claw machines, etc! They're open pretty late too which is fun for older people! I've only been here once but I thought it would be fair to review and give people what to expect when coming here. I didn't even play the games (I know, I know...I will soon). This place has the right idea with the whole retro video game arcade revival - or the "barcade", a word that I despise for whatever reason. Like the other reviewer said, Game Over looks small on the outside but there is plenty of space inside and it is all games - be it retro, skill, modern, etc. Definitely check out the basement. Just be sure you can handle the noise. Very awesome selection as far as games, as it seems there is something for everyone. As far as food and drink, I had the 1/2 pound cheeseburger and loaded fries, which were okay. Cheeseburger was golden (they do have a condiments bar) but the salsa was a little too much on my loaded fries. Next time I'll ask for just cheese fries. I would love to try their pizza and other menu items in the future. You can get bottomless refills of soda for $3. They also seem to try to push their alcoholic beverage menu, which I didn't do this time around. But it looked like a fine selection! So there you have it. We did not try the food, but we went for a birthday treat to play the games. This place looks small from the outside, but it is 3 stories of games of all kinds. Pinball games, vintage games, skill games, and more! The price isn't super high. We had 4 people and got the max credits for about $150 total which kept us all busy for over 2 hours. There is a really nice bar but no drinks for us, either. There are a couple of things I would suggest for the owner 1 - some of the skill games are missing balls so the game could not be played out 2 - it was disappointing how many games were broken along with ones that looked to work, but when we scanned our card it didn't work but took credits off our card 3 - the entire time we were there not one employee spoke to us. It was literally like walking in figure out how to get the game card and go from there I also could not figure out what we could use the "tickets" for. The place is very clean and spacious.
