I almost passed up the opportunity to visit the exchange, but glad I didn't. The selection is incredible. Every item is meticulously cleaned, and stored very neatly. We had the pleasure of talking with the owner, and were blown away by his expertise, and genuine are for his customers. The prices were more than fair, and I was sure I was getting quality products. I lucked out on what he had available, and to top it off, I got a sweet 2$ bill included in my change. The owner said he typically goes to the bank specifically for 2$ balls to hand out to customers "just to see them smile". If that's not a testament to how great this place is, I don't know what else I could say. Can't wait to visit again!

At the direction of the employee, I left my stuff on the green counter along with my name and number. Before I left, I took pictures of every single thing that I left with this place. Then we went into COVID lockdown. I got a call from Game On offering me a hundred bucks for everything I said no thanks and that I'd pick everything up (ebay or craigslist... I could get a lot more than 100 bucks for this stuff). But, we were all trying to stay home, so it took awhile to get there. Whenever I tried (weekends and after work) they were always closed. I had to drive out on my lunch break to get there when someone was actually working. I walked in to pick up my stuff and some guy (manager or owner?) tells me (without even bothering to look) that they don't have my stuff and that he doesn't know me. I'm stunned and I show him the pictures (which he tries to dispute until I point out they were taken on the green counter right in front of him), so, with a huge eyeroll he asks me to text him the pictures. I send them along with a complete inventory. Again, he gives me an offer of $100. Again, No thank you. So, today I caught up with this guy at the Academy store, he comes out with a PS3 (no cords or controllers) a few Wii games and my Atari games. His proposal? He'll give me $100 or I can have the stuff he didn't take. THIS GUY JUST STOLE 23 PS3 games from me!!! They STOLE 2 Wiis from me. This guy has the attitude that it's MY fault that HIS company absorbed my property. And he's all like "What do you expect me to do?" AS HE IS STANDING IN A STORE SURROUNDED BY GAMES (some of which doubtlessly were ones he STOLE from me). I mean, these games didn't evaporate; he sells games after all, so when a game goes missing in a game store's inventory it's usually because it has been SOLD. Then he starts to make this argument that if you leave things in his store too long somehow it becomes his property. The TL;DR is that these people are THIEVES. We all know that when you go into a used game store, they buy low and sell high. I get that. I even respect it from a capitalist point of view. What I don't respect is when a business just takes property that is not theirs and then shrugs and says "how is that my problem?". Then, on top of it, he's trying to insinuate that this was some kind of Oceans 11 level plot to rip him off!!! THIEVES. I hope they go out of business. STAY AWAY!!!

I acknowledged your policy, but politely asked if any flexibility could be considered given the timing. The manager refused, which I accepted, but then he told me I shouldn't have spent the money and gave me attitude. He went on break, and another employee--who was polite--said no refund could be processed without the manager. I waited and returned 45 minutes later, only to have the manager insist sales tax is never refunded. After I explained the law multiple times, he "relented" by claiming he was doing me a personal favor, which was condescending and inappropriate. As a customer, this experience means I won't return--and I want you to know that both the mishandling of tax and the disrespectful treatment will be something I share widely. I strongly suggest you review both refund compliance and customer service expectations for your team.

I started gently peeling off the sticker with soft tip tweezers and noticed the paint coming off with it. I called them and they stated if you removed the warranty sticker then it's not returnable. But the WARRANTY STICKER caused the damage?!? Then they started arguing saying "well, you peeled it off wrong, you have to warm it up 1st"... what?!? I've found many books both that I was specifically looking for and ones I didn't know I needed. The prices are really unbeatable...especially when new books these days can be between $15-$30. I never buy new and am an avid thrift store shopper. But $2 Buck Books even boots Goodwill and Arc prices. Also, don't forget to stop by the back room for children's reads. The staff are very helpful if you're looking for a particular read. When I was there last, an employee (potentially owner or manager) took a walk in customer around the store to help them look for a title. I also happened to forget an item on the counter and called after I had gotten home. They said they had it on hold for me and were able to reunite my item to me upon returning to the store.
