Fantastic customer service and tons of great deals. If you're an avid gamer you've got to go to game trade. Sign up for their member club it's cheap and it will save you money. I don't live in mesquite anymore but I still go out of my way to visit Game Trade whenever I'm buying or trading a game (they give you more for your game than Game Stop etc.). They are usually pretty busy and have a line unless you come early in the day or late just before closing. I tried to purchase a bottled water and had cash. They would not let me buy it without giving my personal information. I said I just want the water please and the employee said it's store policy to take down personal information prior to any purchase, and that it was mandatory. They would not sell me the water without me giving my info but I had already opened the water. The employee called a manager over and he stated that "we have to resolve this" and that I had to give my information or there would be problems, even paying with cash! I ended up giving fake info and left. I can assure you that any company that mandates personal information just to buy a bottle of water is up to no good. Yes they sell your information, yes they put your information in a database. Do not voluntarily give personal information out as if it it's no big deal. Do not shop here. Purchased a game yesterday that was not as advertised, as it was a used copy of a bundle that required a digital download code for half the content. This is clearly a known issue as when I tried to return it the employee unhelpfully said 'oh they didn't tell you?' Was told that I needed a receipt to exchange my game, despite the fact that they have a record of the transaction ad I have a paid VIP membership. Can't find the receipt so I paid for half a game and they won't do anything about it. Pretty sure if I caused a scene they would give me what I wanted but I'd rather say hey this is a problem and have it taken care of. My husband and I do not play games, so we were given a 3 not a two as thought was the game gifted to us a few years back. He went to Game Trade at 1425 Gross road He purchased a new controller drove the 20 minutes home and the cord did not fit, the clerk number 04 sold him. Drove all the way back and the same clerk would not refund his money 16.23. He argued with my husband. I hope no one ever goes to this company the rip people off. Because my husband opened the package to plug in the remote, put it back in same package with receipt. My husband left angry . a rule if you open the package you can not get a refund. How can you see if the product works without opening the plastic. So my husband left. Went to Game Stop and purchased the play station 4. Terrible, terrible, terrible experience. I would advise people just to shop online. At worst, you can get your money back with paypal..with way better selection! I buy a product that says its supposed to work (no needed peripherals are stated on the box) i go home, open the box..BIG MISTAKE BUDDY BOY. YOU REACHED THE POINT OF NO RETURN. I call to ask about the product. And come to find out i do need an adaptor for. For which they conviently buy one for 39.99.. i say" no, how about a return " " we cant give you a full return, but i can give you a partial refund." So i come all the way back up to this location. The staff here made the experience excellent. I stopped by as I was visiting dallas and I am glad I did. The staff was not pushy in regards to my purchase and even tho I had a lot of questions they seemed intrigued by them. I also did not feel rushed and at the end of the day I ended up spending right around $200 lol the whole point is that they made it convenient and easy to purchase. Game trade is your friendly local video game store. I'm past my video game prime, but when I had some time to kill in Mesquite I decided to check about Game Trade. I've never cared for game stop, I knew I was getting ripped off, but I didn't have a lot of other choices. Game Trade is the remedy for the mega-corporate game store. They have great prices, they have great staff, they have a LAN center for the kids. It's a fun atmosphere, almost a community if you will. I only play about 1 game a year, but I'm going to always buy it from Game Trade. read more

We always go to game trade first. They have a better selection, the pricing is better, your trade in price is higher than game stop... AND the guys up there are awesome! Totally helpful and NOT asshole, douche bags like at game stop. I never feel talked down to about anything, which is nice because i don't game, but i watch my husband and kids play so i have a basic knowledge. I purchased a game from the mesquite store. Ii brought the case to the counter for tiger woods 14 masters historic edition. They did not give me the historic edition they gave me the regular tiger woods 14. I called and told them and they refuse to swap for the correct game. They told me just because they put the wrong price sticker on the wrong case that is my fault. I told them I brought up the case for the game I wanted and your employees made the mistake not me. They did not care that I got screwed they offered to give me the case that matched the game they gave me that was wrong. Remember to make sure their employees know how to do their job because if the employee doesn't do their job correctly it is YOUR fault not the employees fault he don't know how to do his job. read more

Good to find classic games and accessories, not so great for preordering consoles. Twice I've been bitten by their protocols with that. Shame on me. Also, GameStop is a bit more competitive with their used games policies. You cannot get your money back for a used game that ended up being awful after a day or two. Good for pre ordering games and midnight releases but when "reserving" a console DO NOT GO HERE!!! I had to buy another Xbox one at the Gamestop three blocks down while GAMETRADE holds my money hostage till the Xbox One comes in. I preordered 3 months ago and have yet to receive my system. I've been going here for my games for years. I dig that the have everything from Atari to present. All the guys have a great sense of humor, and they even have a LAN center there too. For those of you who like Magic the Gathering, get a VIP card with them. Magic cards are cheaper here than anywhere else I've seen when you do that. There are long waiting lists when new consoles come out sometimes because they aren't a priority store like GameStop or Walmart, but the moment they get some, they make sure it gets out as quickly as possible. This location has a better selection of games than the Wylie store but less functioning of a store. On Saturday the line took almost an hour and there were only 3 people in front of me. The staff was trying hard though and it isn't their fault they sometimes get ghetto customers with no brains. I finally get to the front of the store and this random kid cut in front of me to complain about a game in the back not working? Ok...guy (manager?) is still trying to find my 2 games. This time, annoying kid comes back. He complains of a controller not working. Omgggg. The guy instead of telling the kid to wait he's with a customer, deals with me and the kid at the same time. The staff seems nice but the store productivity is a complete mess. It was in the middle of the day, too. The only thing that honestly really bothered me was every single time someone came in, the one guy in a medieval voice would said "welcome!" Then trailing behind the other 2 said "welcome!" Its good they great people but at least change the loud tone up or the greeting to a hey, hi, hello or something. Super odd lol. Oh! Also, I'm a "VIP" member there and all 12 games I picked up (used) were cheaper at GameStop so I bought a game anyways to justify having to drive there. Being a VIP member is a waste when a pro membership at GameStop gives you the same game for $1-$10 cheaper.
