I love this place. They're cheap and they give a really good games and consoles. This is where I'm buying a console when I get the money.

I love the concept of this store. My wife and I have bought and sold old classic games here. There have been a few purchases we were really happy with, including a Gameboy Color that I absolutely love. HOWEVER, they misplaced about $100 of our store credit. When we presented receipts proving we had the store credit they just told us, "That was the old system. We have a new system now." and they refused to honor our store credit. Very infuriating! We wouldn't have sold our games here had we known we would have gotten nothing for them. If you do sell anything here, make sure you get CASH and not store credit! read more

I bought a game from here, had a problem with the game, went back to the story for an exchange which truned into an issue, i had to state your telling me I'm basically just beat on the game, said it load enough to be heard 15 feet away so all the other customers in the store could hear and only then that's when they gave a replacement. at that point I was completely discouraged with even trying to play the game anymore, it was kind of just ruined for me. A few weeks later, I bring a lot of games to trade in, get this, the game that they gave me in the exchange they would not accept in trade-in saying that it was damaged. So a game you gave me, you won't accept, but you'll sell. this is not a good retro game store. From the East Coast to the Central Texas this is hands down the worst one I've ever experience. There's only one decent person in the store and that's Brian, only person with a personality. If you do go may god bless you and ask for brian. but you're better off dealing with the idiots on Facebook marketplace read more

They had a Great game selection , The employees were very nice and polite . I was immediately greeted when I arrived .

Nothing fancy but they do have a lot of used games as well as movies, pop figures and Pokémon cards etc. Nintendo games are a bit hard to look through. Staff was nice and helpful. read more

If I could give this 0 stars I would, and now I can understand why it had a 1 star rating. Little brother went to return/exchange some games. Red headed clerk was rude, condescending, and did not want to honor their return policy(2 weeks, n he brought it back in 1). Was fighting back when he was explaining the issue and was just bowling over whatever he said. Seemed like he could tell my brother was too polite to be rude back and was just pushing back when he was explaining the issues he had with a couple games he had gotten from them. Will NOT be going back there which is disappointing cause we were looking forward to going to this local game shop. read more

This used to be one of the nicest stores in town, I used to visit nearly every week to look at the new rare games behind the glass shelves and talk to a staff who seemed to know what they were doing. Unfortunately time has not been nice to either the store or it's needlessly aggressive owner. After moving away for work related reasons coming back to Weatherford one of the first stops I made was to my favorite store, Game Haven. I have to say that while I'm a little glad not much has changed about the store in all of these years, it feels very dated and much more of a video game knock off store than a legitimate business. I don't recall the last time I was here there being blatantly cheap third party controllers and other clearly Chinese made knock offs being sold as FULL PRICE NEW ITEMS. In addition to this the items there that are from major companies (the PS4 controllers specifically) that are USED ITEMS are being sold for a higher price than BRAND NEW controllers. When bringing this up to the owner, Shaun, I was told that they still sell well enough to be justified at that price and that they will probably not be lowered until the next generation of consoles comes out. After asking the owner if there was anyone else I could talk to and then described some of the staff that I had remembered were there last time I visited he became seemingly agitated and bluntly told me, "They don't work here anymore, if you want to do business with them then go to their store." I have never been this disrespected at this location and have come here numerous times before with a very caring team helping me and making very mom-and-pop style deals with me, but it seems as if once the owner started making more changes to make money as opposed to helping customers it all started falling apart. I have since not returned to this store and unless it changes ownership or rebrands entirely will probably not come back. I would much rather buy a brand new name brand PS4 controller from the Wal-Mart down the road for cheaper anyways. read more

I've called three times on two different occasions and no one ever answered the phone. The answering service tells you an associate will be with you shortly and then no one ever picks up. After about ten minutes, the system hangs up on you. I'd love to do business with them since they are local, but if they can't pick up their phone then why should I waste my gas to go find out what they have in the store. read more

Wow how is this company still running? First there's never anything anyone there can do is the piss poor answer they give people. Then the so called manager can never do anything without the "Owners" approval. I never knew a manager in any business where the manager couldn't make decisions and had to consult the owner, what do you not trust your manager's to make an executive decision ? . I bought an xbox 360 console, I asked the associate if it works, there lame answer was "we wouldn't have it out if it didn't work" I kept my mouth shut as I had my kids with me and didn't want to make a scene. So I took it home and the HDMI port looked like it was burned. I brought it back with my receipt the very same day and told the gentleman that I tried to plug this into the hdmi port and didn't work and I told him that I noticed that it looked like it was burned. The associate blamed me and told me that it wasn't like that when I purchased it. I told him, "sir I asked you if it worked before I purchased this and you told me yes". He had a dumb founded look on and said sorry that he would have to talk to the owner to see if they could do a return. Again kept my cool and said "sure here's my number call me when you've got something for me" Keep in mind the return policy is seven days. I called all week so I wouldn't miss my seven day policy, every time I call , the staff member tells me that he can never get a hold of the owner and has left messages. So I then asked so what happens after my seven days is up? He told me he didn't know and asked me to leave?? It's been two weeks folks still nothing. I went ahead and replaced this on my own. Just wanted to let you know what kind of shady business this place is running. I've been living here my whole life and I once supported this place as they had three awesome employees working who really enlighten the place and went above and beyond. The owner of GameHaven makes his employees lie and won't let you tell customers how things work there. Customers are not allowed to have any knowledge on how prices and trades should work. There is no refunds allowed to customers and the only way they can get their money back is to trade something of equal value or get the little amount then what you payed for the product you want to return. They will look at your broken consoles but it's a 50/50 if it'll get fixed or not. The employees never know when your system will come back in the store and neither does the store owner unless he's working on it himself. The store owner doesn't help his employees or helps them very little. He believes all the responsibility should hang down on his employees instead of him. They sell fake Gameboy Pokemon games but the owner doesn't care as long as he's making money that's really all that matters to him. So don't expect a original of any game. The whole work place experience is terrible and needs a new change in everything new owner new design new policy something that can actually compete with GameStop or GameXchange but sadly I don't see that happening. I suggest you don't do business with GameHaven until they change the owner of the business and get better as a whole for the store. Cause right now it's being run in the grown with high prices and bad owner and his own choices he wants for the store. No one is over exaggerating over how bad this store is and how bad the owner runs GameHaven. Everyone putting bad reviews in are being 100% honest. This store needs to be better and run like an actual gamestores like GameStop or GameXchange. read more

This is my home town. When I come back into town to visit I often try to make it into this store. The last couple of times I have had horrible experiences. The worst time I bought a $65 PS1 title with a few other games that I played as a kid. After buying it I thought after leaving the store that I should go back and get the game tested. After driving all the way back to the store the next day to get it tested low and behold my fears were true. After they swore they tested the game prior to accepting it for trade in it would not read. To make matters worse when they gave me a refund it wasn't for the full amount I paid. They refused to refund me the sales tax. So instead of getting my 70 bucks and some change I was given $64.99. The associate claimed there was nothing they could do because the system wouldn't allow it. He said he was sorry and could give me $5 bucks in store credit. I had already had my fill as I purchased all the games I wanted. So now I had to search for a title that I wouldn't mind adding to the collection. After 3 different choices of game cases on display I am told 3 different times that they don't actually have the advertised game in stock. After not only wasting $5 I felt I had wasted $5 more dollars of my time and probably $5 dollars in labor cleaning their shelves of games they didn't actually have. I cut my losses and decided to do all my shopping somewhere else. The final nail in the coffin would be that out of the 3 games I made it out with, only one of them actually works. I am back at my actual home and am unable to return them and feel that even if I did I would some how end up in worse condition than I am right now. Out of the 15 or so games that I have purchased here I would say maybe 10 of them work and I'm being generous. Even though it's the only retro game store in this town, I highly recommend you do your shopping online or somewhere else. read more
