This is quite a decent store, it is more of a darker, grey themed store rather than the brighter store, which follows the old Game Station store format, which is the company Game bought a few years ago and transferred ownership of all their stores under the same brand a few years ago. I mainly came in here to take a look at the Black Friday deals, they did have a decent selection for good prices, for example the game Deus Ex was £20 meanwhile to buy this at Argos it would be £22.99 or £26 at Tesco at the time, but this price has now risen to £31.34 at Tesco and £39.99 at Game which still shows how Game can be out of touch with rivals in terms of pricing. This is the PS4 copy of the game used as the example, and other consoles pricing may vary. The staff seemed friendly enough although the service for the staff member to get my game was pretty slow, which was slightly frustrating. The store didn't have the best of room so it was quite squashed to look for games especially due to the layout, where you basically have to bend down and "break your back" to find the game, despite them being in alphabetical order. Overall, this store is decent but there are too many flaws such as the speed of service, the layout in some cases and pricing in some cases which makes me feel Game only deserves a high two star rating for their Blackburn branch.

Grainger Games - The store

This is a smaller store but still has a good selection of games on various consoles. I had 2 visits to this store, one through choice and one, which I was near enough forced to make, This review makes more sense if you read my one for the Oldham branch as well otherwise the events may be abit confusing. I went into the store and I bought the New Call of Duty game for £30, it was 5 pounds cheaper on the website but I got quite a lame excuse regarding that, that is a reduction for waiting times, I do feel that if they can do £25 online, they should be able to do in the shop as well. I ordered the game in new condition, so after making nearly a 10 mile round trip, I expected everything to be okay but when I got home, I noticed the game was open. I rang the store right away and they explained that they have to do that for display purposes but they would offer me a full refund, or a unopened replacement if one came in on the following days' delivery. As I was going to Oldham anyway, I tried to get the refund in the Oldham store and to put it short, they were very rude and said it wasn't part of the returns policy even though I phoned them and they did offer to give me a refund. This meant I had to go all the way back to Cheetham Hill, and somehow I had to fit this in on my already packed schedule. When I went back, without a fuss they gave me a full cash refund, I would of thought they would of gave me 5 pounds cash and the rest on my card, like I paid but this was easier, as they didn't have the unopened game come in with their delivery. I do feel this store done well to rectify the problem, but I am still furious they never told me in the beginning to save another 10 mile round trip, they just put the game in my bag without giving me chance to check it first but anyway it isn't my job to check it, they should of informed me. Due to this incidient, I can only give 2 stars, scoring 1 higher than the Oldham branch because this store rectified the problem "that wasn't in their return policy"

Shopping Quarter, City Centre

TradeMeIn is one of the few, independent stores which buy and sell games, mobile phones and tech…read moreitems, it's most similar rivals include CeX and Game, both of which have stores nearby, for me this store is much more modern and vibrant than other trade-in retailers with a blue theme, it just felt clean and modern inside which you generally don't get with CeX. The location is in Leeds centre, although being in St John's it is a little isolated and doesn't get the footfall which the main city centre and the likes of The Trinity does. The quotes here for trading in items seems rather generous, although for my phone I had been quoted higher from both Mazuma Mobile and Music Magpie, the quote I was given was much higher than any mobile phone networks recycle scheme and their nearest competitors, Game and CEX. The store was a little small, so the selection could have been better. There was a large selection of more older games and DVD's compared too new-ones. I don't like their website, it makes it rather difficult to set up an order and the database just doesn't work online, for example, if you searched for an iPhone it would come up starting with 3GS first, with around 20+ pages, and if you search the iPhone name and model exactly, it doesn't come up so this filtering system just isn't working and needs work, to improve the customer experience before coming into the store. With trade-in prices on average better than its closest rivals, yet not the best overall and a good store feel which is how a trade-in store should be, of course, it can improve based on making sure it is easier to get a quote, and perhaps the size of the store and location to a certain extent, it still is a slightly above average store in general and anything less than a three-star rating would surely be an insult for a store which I see high potential in to be upgraded in the future.
