Different console's spaces are set out fairly, without one having too much space compared to others which is often a major problem in other Game stores. They also have a large selection of merchandise for the size of the store, being the only place in town to buy things such as plushies and Pokémon cards. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, especially the ones who have worked there for multiple years. Although the newbies are by no means bad. Best place in town for games and much better than just buying online.

They won't try and rip you off or get you to buy the most expensive games, most times they will offer you a cheaper second had copy if they have one in stock, and if you ask them they will give you an honest opinion about a game if it's not a good game they will tell you! (i think the philosopy is if you buy a game you like your'e far more likely to go back! Massive choice of titles as well!

Quite a small narrow shop and could do with a bit more lighting, but they have quite a good selection of games and will order you titles that they don't have in stock. You probably have to pay £5-£10 more than you would online, I went in there today and spent £85, realising on the way out that I could have saved £20 if I'd bought from Amazon, but sometimes it's good to know that you're feeding a small business.

There is always a large selection of pre owned games to choose from, and many offers of buy 2 for £20 or by 2 for £30 etc. They also sell pre owned consoles as well as new, and have an extensive range of peripherals for all makes of console. The staff are extremely helpful, and took the time to explain the differences between the consoles to a gaming newbie like me. They did not try to sell extra insurances or anything when buying the console.

They start earley and work till late and still have full smiles for customers no matter what the time of day. Ive been using this shop since it first ever opened my son loves it well that why I use it is for him and his xbox 360 the prices are well cheap for games and consoles. Also hey have a no quibbble when it comes to returning games my sons usually gets the preowned ones and they have changed or cleaned whichever we needed when needed if a problem or money back after buying no hassels at all. I don't shop here often because although it is a second-hand shop the condition of their Xbox 360 remotes are disgraceful and overpriced for the condition they are in. That's not always the situation with just controllers either some of their games look like they have been chewed and they are still selling them at normal price. The prices on some of the games are stupidly high, for example skate 3 is £20 or you can get a new one for cheaper of amazon or for free with your ea-access membership. Although my complaints it isn't a bad place some of the games are cheap considering how new they are.

04/02/24 bought Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for the PS4 in Lancaster solely to play 2 player…read moresplit screen offline with my child. It's an advertised on the box as 1 or 2 player offline and has been easy to use on earlier versions. Little did I know that it's now next to impossible to play 2 player split screen offline anymore due to bug/glitches/how it was designed, and this has now been widely known as an issue on the internet. I outlined to the staff and manager on 6/2/24 I wanted a cash refund. Staff ID on receipt 59767. Told them about the misleading packaging. Totally uninterested. Effectively tried to justify just giving me a voucher by gaslighting me with nonsense about how this is a different game, it does actually work, the advertising doesn't mean what it did on every other version, anyway it's not a CEX problem. But basically totally uninterested and indifferent to anything I was saying. Appalling. There's your voucher goodbye kind of thing!

This is a smaller store but still has a good selection of games on various consoles. I had 2 visits to this store, one through choice and one, which I was near enough forced to make, This review makes more sense if you read my one for the Oldham branch as well otherwise the events may be abit confusing. I went into the store and I bought the New Call of Duty game for £30, it was 5 pounds cheaper on the website but I got quite a lame excuse regarding that, that is a reduction for waiting times, I do feel that if they can do £25 online, they should be able to do in the shop as well. I ordered the game in new condition, so after making nearly a 10 mile round trip, I expected everything to be okay but when I got home, I noticed the game was open. I rang the store right away and they explained that they have to do that for display purposes but they would offer me a full refund, or a unopened replacement if one came in on the following days' delivery. As I was going to Oldham anyway, I tried to get the refund in the Oldham store and to put it short, they were very rude and said it wasn't part of the returns policy even though I phoned them and they did offer to give me a refund. This meant I had to go all the way back to Cheetham Hill, and somehow I had to fit this in on my already packed schedule. When I went back, without a fuss they gave me a full cash refund, I would of thought they would of gave me 5 pounds cash and the rest on my card, like I paid but this was easier, as they didn't have the unopened game come in with their delivery. I do feel this store done well to rectify the problem, but I am still furious they never told me in the beginning to save another 10 mile round trip, they just put the game in my bag without giving me chance to check it first but anyway it isn't my job to check it, they should of informed me. Due to this incidient, I can only give 2 stars, scoring 1 higher than the Oldham branch because this store rectified the problem "that wasn't in their return policy"
