His services come in handy when a child grabs my glasses, when I fall asleep with them on, or when I crush them while blindly searching for them. He can even solder metal frames that are broken. One frustration is that he is not always working. There is a woman who is usually in on weekends who can help you find the best frames for your face. This is really helpful for someone like me who can not see my own face without the lenses in my glasses! I wish they could carry my lenses in stock, but some special orders do require a couple of days to fill.

Not too many choices in a town this small, and reading the reviews of all the choices, I was a little bit worried. They pointed me to the Blake's Lotaburger at the corner while I waited, which was a real treat with the local chiles to make it "New Mexico style" - and the real kicker... when I came back to pick up my glasses they said - "No charge" I hope I don't have to come back again in this situation - but so thankful they were there. Definitely one of the highlights of my Route 66 trip (p.s. - get the burger)
