Pros: - We covered as many of the important places as possible, in the given time line - We had VIP passes to many of the places and hence, did not have to wait in the long lines - The tour guide Anita was very sweet, well prepared and helpful. Cons: - We had very few vegetarian options for food at the places we stopped - The driver Jimmy (?) seems to be on a perennial PMS. He was irascible and rude, he literally shouted at people to get in/ out of the bus. Since we had very little veggie options at the places where we stopped for food, we had packed our own lunch. He not only did not let us eat this in the bus (we had to sit on benches near by to have our food) but also refused to let us sit in the bus after our lunch was done. We had a few phone calls with Amy to discuss budget, length of trip, what we wanted to see/do/experience, and what to expect with such journey to another continent far, far away. Through Amy and Audley, we booked our flights through Qatar Airways, all of our overnight stays (we moved around Tanzania throughout our 2-week adventure), and she gave us a printed and e-version of our detailed itinerary. Honestly, I had no idea what I was doing, and the girl that helped me out Ritsuko, sat with me for about 40 mins going through various sample trips and agendas, despite the fact that I had not bought a single thing! She walked me through where to eat, where to stay, how long to be there....just awesome. I walked in needing a JR Rail Pass, and when I got down to it, she was so efficient and helpful in getting me one. And I walked out with it. Long story, but we rented a car and drove to Cleveland, but their airport also shut down while we were en route, and so we continued driving to Chicago, in order to catch a new flight that Wendy arranged. Recently, the shooting at LAX closed that airport and prevented 6 friends of mine from coming to Boston, and Wendy was the only one who found a new set of tickets on the same airline, at an airport no one thought of using. Several times, I showed Wendy what I found on Kayak or Orbitz and asked her if I should even use Far East, and she says without hesitating NOT to use Far East and that for many simple round trip flights, it's cheapest online - I like honesty. I have no other connection with Far East other than having stumbled upon them years ago and been very happy since. I was googling their mailing address when I was shocked to see the lone negative review. I felt I had to respond with my personal experience. I am not saying anything against the previous reviewer, but only sharing what I know. I encourage him to compare prices against Far East Travel (founded 7 years before the more popular FETI - hence the name clash is FETI's fault!). I knew exactly what I wanted for flights, times, airports, airplanes, etc. I'm only giving them 2 stars because they responded to me immediately. They just returned my email with flights, no introduction, no "hi, my name is", nothing. They just kept emailing one flight after another with zero attempt at any pleasantries or interaction. Each flight was crazy expensive or not what I asked for. I asked twice that they call me and provided my number, yet they continued to just email flights. Then, they just stopped all together. Lazy, cold, unprofessional, and ignorant. I found them on Google, that's how businesses are found by new potential customers. Let them cater to their regulars, obviously they don't care to earn new customers.
