Really fun seeing all the fox decorations and the beer options are pretty solid. Nice people with fun drinks and they've got some snacks if you need something to go with your drink! Parking was a little weird, there's the street outside, just be careful you don't park in a neighbor's spot!

Fun big brewery, lots of TVs, a projector screen, darts, and plenty of booths. Very fun spot for larger groups and patio space. Really liked the Hefeweizen and would be back for more soon. Looked like only popcorn for $1 available in the way of food. Great fox decor and art

I have such a good experience every time I visit Gallant Fox. I love all of the Fox decor. It really is the prettiest brewery in the city. I can spend so much time just admiring the walls. I've had a few different drinks but my favorite is their seasonal Key Lime Pie Sour Ale. Key lime pie is my favorite dessert so having it in beer form just makes a sunny day better. I also like how fairly inexpensive the drinks are. Gallant Fox has a lot of events that they host. They have weekly trivia on Tuesdays, monthly themed trivia and I also heard they have karaoke. It's such a fun vibe. I love Gallant Fox and I'm glad it's on the Louisville Ale Trail

This little neighborhood bar seems lovely. I had. Couple of cocktails here with my dead son. I'm dragging his ashes around, enjoying a cocktail, being angry and sad. I'll be doing that until the Shively Police Department conducts an investigation and tells me what happened. Anyway, the service here was pretty good. We did have to flag the bartender down for refills but they were pretty busy. And I was a bit weepy. I wouldn't want to deal with me, either. The vodka was vodka. ‍

One of my favorite breweries in Louisville. Glad to have stopped in recently. Great board, chill atmosphere, and friendly knowledge staff. Can't wait for a real kitchen menu.

Loved this place. Hubby had his ipa's that he loved. I had a Key Lime Pie sour. Delicious!!! And a Cinnamon Bun stout, also delicious!

Gotta get that stamp!

Cutest brewery award goes to... Seriously, though. I'm loving all of the fox decor all over the place! This place has a lot of personality and doesn't just feel like another generic brewery. They have some interesting beer choices, too. I tried the Key Lime Pie sour and it tasted just like the fruity dessert!! So good. Another plus is that they have a small parking lot - being a brick and mortar on Frankfort Ave, that is a huge plus. You need to make your way over to Gallant Fox brewing. And make sure to get a Louisville Ale Trail passport!!

I'd been meaning to check this place out! Had to come by since they were one of the breweries doing 12 beers of Christmas. Parking isn't bad. There are a few spots right in front. But if you drive a bit past it, you'll find more parking spaces. The inside isn't super large, but it's got the feel of a dive bar. Though with more decor. Lots of foxes around! Pictures and paintings, statues and taxidermied ones too (is taxidermied a word?). There were 3 Christmas beers. I only liked the Melé Kalikimaka, which was a pineapple sour. Delicious! They have quite a bit of IPAs and sours on the menu. I'll be back!

Louisville has so many new and fabulous Breweries! We decided we are starting a Friday brew pub crawl. This past Friday one on the list was Gallant Fox! Happy to say it really was my favorite. The beautiful thing is they have a full bar. If you are heading to a bar and one of your friends isn't a beer drinker, low and behold, plenty of fabulous bourbons to be found here! Our bartender was fabulous. Great little crowd of people. Even dog friendly! One dog she was excellent and I would 10/10 dog sit for her! They recommended mixing also! That's right, mixing some of the tap beers. I had a nice Sir Galahad stout! I love the stouts and porters in the fall and winter. It was really delicious! I tried the jelly of the month, the blueberry mixed with the Nutty by nature! What a fabulous combo! Peanut butter and jelly in a glass! The bar is nice, quick service. Clean bathrooms. I would totally come back to enjoy some more combos! The beers were delicious!

We love this brewery. It's chill enough we can take our baby, and the service is awesome. They have tons of beer options, and they have a full service bar with cocktails. Their food is awesome too, and I definitely recommend the pretzel and beer cheese!

I live close to Frankfort Avenue and walk by Gallant Fox all the time. They were having a trivia on Wednesday night decided to go. Gallant Fox was the second horse to win the triple crown. It's a nice nod to that historical piece. The space is adorable. It's open they've got a lot of fox inspired art and there's a great theme. We found a seat and then grabbed some drinks. Everything we tried was actually very tasty. I had the lemon meringue sour, which also had whip cream on top. It was very tasty. The space was very open and inviting. I appreciated that they had multiple TVs and they were streaming the trivia to some of the TVs as well. They don't have food but you're welcome to bring in food from home or elsewhere.

Came out to this place for a night cap. Most places were closed and found this Louisville GEM. They had live music going on and the bartenders were absolutely amazing. Giving us the scope of the land and where to check out next on our adventures. Great selections of beer and spirits.

Finally when we were trying to close out, she gave hand motions and said "are you closing out or what? You don't have to close. Oh my gosh I can't hear you." And went back to go sit on her phone. Thankfully the guy in the grey shirt and beard was apologetic and helped us out. Our extra members ended up leaving without food after 45 minutes of waiting for her. Wish I could post a pic of her to show the truth of her sitting this entire time but I want to be respectful. This brewery goes back to the early roots of Louisville . The barrel aged beers and ales make a unique and distinctive addition to the bourbon and other spirits they produce. During the 1960s a plight to save this area began. Many shot gun shacks surround the area. They are shacks with their own quaint detail and design. They have carried this over in the decor and style of ales. This brewery is too cool they have no holds bard for anything that steps on an inch of human rights. In fact it's the main purpose for this thread of Louisville and butchers town. The action of activism is truly alive here in Louisville and all over the city, not just this brewery. It's beyond belief here. Love and the community come together for what we have seen. The art that is in the lobby here truly shines through. Now come and join in the passion that connects us all. It's the fact we are all human and not ashamed to admit our existence. We are not mistakes. We will drink and appreciate our fellow humans and flaws but work together to solve the issues that plague us. Let's drink to that!

I got the Mango-Colada Sour, and this was delightful. It seems like Butchertown Brewing really excels at sours, fruit beers and fun concoctions. So if you're not afraid to "fruit the beer," this is a good place to check out. They also have seltzers, hard sodas and more typical beer offerings. And while it is small, you can still easily find food. It's right across the Mellwood Art Center courtyard from Danny Mac's Pizza (my all-time favorite Louisville pizza spot!). And you can order via Danny Mac's website and choose to get it delivered to Butchertown Brewing. You don't even have to leave your chair to get delicious pizza! Butchertown Brewing also hosts fun events, like the aforementioned trivia. Actually it was trivia bingo -- so the more fun, easier-to-play version of triva, which I actually won a prize in! I won a gift card to come back to Butchertown Brewing, and I will definitely be partaking again soon!

Once you get through the door, there is a decent sized bar to your right. The rest of the place is seating at tables, both high and low. There is also a outside area in the back. If you have been to Atrium, the feel is very similar. From a beer standpoint, Monnik is in the B+ range, which means it is decent. I grabbed a flight and then a couple of samplers of seasonals after dinner. Very innovative and I would highly recommend trying some of the styles outside of the flagship. The peach grisette, a style you don't find often, was on point. Same with the New Year Old Ale and BA Minimator. Needless to say, I had my designated driver after these 11% and 12% brews. It is not a place people would travel across the country for, but the beer is better than most in the area. I usually stop at Atrium, which I would put in the A category, but I love exploring new places. Monnik did not disappoint. For food, we just grabbed a pretzel. My two cents. THe beer cheese is just okay. The Gouda fondue is the bomb. If I could have the spent grain bread or pretzel with just gouda fondue, I could eat this regularly.

The place was empty but the bartender was a good guide. His bartender patter had a rhythmic cadence as he extolled the virtues of their fare offerings. I went with the Death Penalty to chase a little heat, although the name is more menacing than the bit. This isn't a mouth scorching, heartburn inducing culinary dare, but quite simply a perfectly delivered burger with toppings that work well together to deliver a robust flavor with a nice touch of heat. Being my first time in Kentucky I asked for a recommendation for a nice shot of bourbon to sip while I waited for my meal, with the caveats that I'd like for it to be from a lesser known, small distiller and under $25 for the drink. He delivered with a shot of Minor Case Straight Rye Whiskey that has a sherry cask finish from Limestone Branch Distillery. It was smooth with no bite and a nice linger. Three solid hits between the burger, bourbon and bartender - would definitely recommend.

I was initially drawn to Great Flood for its blonde ale and saison, but I actually think they excel most at dark beers. The '37 Porter is a low-key Louisville icon and I've never had a stout here that was shy of greatness. There's also a wide variety of guest taps and they get some uncommon, appealing beers on deck. The bartenders are easygoing and informative; they give great recommendations across the board and don't play favorites with Great Flood beers vs. the guest taps.
