Ben from BD Crafters just finished a major deck repair, and I couldn't be happier with the results…read more The Trex on top was fine, but there were 3 visible beams that were either rotted or severely cracked. In order to replace the beams, it was necessary to remove all the Trex. Once removed, I was amazed at all the underlying shoddy construction done by a local construction company. Ben gave me two estimates, one to just replace the 3 bad beams and the other, which was close to being a total rebuild. It was an easy choice to go with the second option. The deck is a weird shape, and in order to use the existing Trex, all the new structure would have to be perfectly measured. The deck did turn out perfect. I was especially happy that Ben was very selective in picking out the pressure-treated wood at the local big box store. Some of that wood is exposed and the grain is just beautiful. I had originally planned on painting the exposed wood, but it looks so nice I will probably go with a transparent stain. Ben's workmanship was outstanding. The price for the work was reasonable and about what I would have expected. This is the first time I have used BD Crafters. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them to others.

Don't let the positive reviews fool you. This man and his company should be ashamed of themselves…read more I had them come over to check my sewer line as it had clogged in the past. Two guys showed up, one was pretty young. They went to the basement for maybe 15 minutes came back upstairs and said they had to go get the snake. They left and got it then returned promptly. They were in the basement for over an hour when two more guys showed up, one of which was again pretty young. Without my knowledge or permission there were four men walking through my house in and out of my basement into my living area. As a female at the house alone, this was very unprofessional of them to do and very uncomfortable for me. After zero communication and another hour of them being in the basement, they called me down to look at a camera attached to a scope, couldn't see anything but a chunk of pipe missing. I was confused, uncomfortable and blown away by the mess. Speechless. I then said "ok so we can talk about this once you're finished?" The owner replied, "yes" and stated that I needed my line replaced to the road. Another 20 minutes go by then two guys leave. The owner said he's going to make a call to get a quote for an excavator and walked outside. The two younger gentleman did attempt to wipe up my kitchen floor as they were leaving with an old dirty rag they had in the van. Saying they were sorry for the mess. They were nice young men. The last one goes outside and then they all drove away. I had no idea what work was done and what really needed to be done besides the comment that I needed to replace the sewer line to the road. Hours went by and I received a bill in my email for $550.00 for a jetting service. There was no communication whatsoever. This man does what he wants, takes off and then sends a bill to your email. I paid because I'm not a POS and felt obligated. This man took full advantage of me. Once they left, I had to deep clean my floors as there was raw sewage tracked everywhere. When I went downstairs to the basement, I instantly began to cry. My basement was covered in raw sewage water. I had to pay another company to clean the hazardous mess as it was literally going to make us sick (ended up getting sick from all of it). Please see the photographs. Does this man take advantage of hard working females? Shame on you and your company, Pratti Mechanical. I have dozens of other photos from my security cameras that are located in my basement. I hope it brings you joy to know that your unprofessionalism and lack of respect for my home cost me thousands of dollars and had me physically Ill. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL experience. Worst of the worst. This review is absolute truth. I have zero gain from telling the truth and exposing myself... The owner will comment saying my services were discussed prior to being completed, they weren't. Stop lying to people. Then they'll comment how sorry they are to hear how I feel, not at all sorry for what they did. Shameful.

I was thrilled to switch over to locally-owned Fitch Fuel of Lancaster NH as the propane supplier…read moreto my VT summer place. Last year, I'd gotten set up with them, even buying a residential LP tank from them (instead of renting/leasing one of their tanks). When you have some fuel supplier's tank, no other supplier can deliver to you. So I am a strong proponent of owning your own tank! I'd inherited the Dead River tank here when I bought the cottage several years ago. And other than an excellent propane tech of theirs named Robbie, I had several ugly go-arounds with Dead River, largely over their trying to charge me a $99 fee for not using enough propane at my seasonal cottage. Also, Dead River's rather hefty service call charges for a tech to check out the Empire wall-mounted propane heater that was here (since replaced). The larger fuel company suppliers, especially those bought out by monopolizing larger companies, think they can jack up rates and tell customers how they are gonna do business, as opposed to locally-owned companies that are more flexible and fair to their customers. And I can highly recommend Fitch Fuel headquartered in Lancaster NH for their sensible policies and excellent service.
