We stopped here for lunch, as we drove to Portugal from Spain, at the recommendation of our driver…read more He called ahead several times, but the phone was never answered, which we would later see, was a common theme for them! The two young women in the dining room did not speak English, and their Spanish wasn't great either, so communicating was a struggle, but we got by. We ordered fish soup, the soup of the day, beef carpaccio and a dessert, along with two glasses of wine. The soup of the day, vegetable was ok, it was simply pureed veggies, but the fish soup was outstanding! It was full of fish chunks and fresh veggies, I could have eaten another bowl for sure! The beef carpaccio was served with shaved parmesan, arugula and capers. It was quite tasty, but was more of an appetizer for one person perhaps. The dessert was probably the best part, it was so unique, so beautiful, and probably the most filling!
The wine was good, but it was hard to really know what to order because the menu we were presented, did not describe the wines, or where they came from, so it was sort of a blind pick, and we honestly don't even know if they were from the actual winery or not!
