I am so grateful my mother recommended I consult with her dentist! My teeth were a disaster when I first met Dr. Chehade about 10 years ago. He and his team have helped me with everything from general maintenance to root canals to implants. More recently, they solved a severe wear problem caused by poor work done 15+ years ago. I decided to replace all of my lowers (at the same time) in order to open my bite and fix the wear problem. It was a huge procedure yet I was not at all nervous or apprehensive once the time came to do the actual work. Planning was meticulous with multiple scans, wax models and coordination with fabrication lab. It is such a relief to have full trust in a dentist, something I have not experienced in the past. Assistant Rona made me excellent temporaries; four sections that felt great and enabled normal eating while waiting on permanents. Next, my six front uppers were replaced and that one piece temporary was amazing! I could eat apples whole if I wanted to. It is so nice to have dependable temps especially when so many teeth are being worked on at the same time. The office staff works hard to get as much coverage from insurance as possible which is not an easy feat! Estimates are detailed and out of pocket cost is always known up front. Scheduling is easy and location is convenient. Recent renovations inside the office and treatment rooms have made the space more comfortable and it is always clean and organized. Overall, I appreciate Dr. Chehade's attention to detail and communication with staff during procedures to get things right. It is clear he takes pride in his work. Sometimes things take longer than planned but the quality of work is always the first priority. There is no rushing involved, just methodical execution and explanation of what is being done or needs to be done. Thank you GDA for all you have done for me! read more

so awful! I went there from when I got my adult teeth to 18 years old and the only reason why I left is because their money grabbers. I went for my annual check out. They told me I needed seven fillings and one root canal. Got a second opinion at alvorada, they told me it was only two fillings and no root canal needed. They said they were very invasive with my teeth and didn't need to do feelings on a lot of them and now I'm paying the consequences of going to Gainesville dental associates. read more

My parents now go to this practice. Dr. Chehade and Nini are a wonderful team. We'd had a lot of dental work to do with some crowns and they have been just wonderful to work with. One is in a wheelchair, so it requires a lot of coordination and everyone the staff is so helpful with having to change appointments at the last minute and having to get last minute help with a problem. Everyone goes above and beyond to make things happen for us and it does not go unnoticed and is very much appreciated. read more

In April, Dr. Lopez replaced an old crown with a new one. He seemed to struggle to completely remove the old one and I came away feeling that my mouth had been mauled. I decided to request a female dentist, with supposedly smaller hands, from now on. And what do you know! Just three weeks later, the crown sitting next door to my new one fell out. Coincidence? Or did it have something to do with all that pulling, pushing, and prodding from Dr. Lopez? This time, it was Dr. Batra who gave me a new permanent crown. Not her fault, but the person who assisted her managed to stab my tongue. And just three weeks later, the "permanent" crown she installed came out. Perhaps I should have taken my concerns to the management before going elsewhere, but I'm pretty sure they would have offered to correct the situation by reinserting the crown free of charge, which would have meant having my mouth mauled yet again by someone of doubtful competency. No thanks. So I found a new dentist, who examined the crown that fell out and discovered that the glue used to affix it in my mouth was not a permanent glue, but a glue of lesser strength normally used for temporary crowns. And in my mouth, he discovered that the crown itself was imperfect and "rocked" when he tried to reinstall it. I need a completely new crown, one that won't be covered by insurance in the current year. Expensive! I also recall sitting in the dentist's chair one day during these events, waiting for the next procedure. Somewhere very nearby, a group of employees sounded as if they were having a midmorning party with much laughing and loud carefree chatting. I believe that happy employees are usually more productive employees, but this was ridiculous. It was unprofessional and, now, in light of all that's happened, I seriously wonder if a culture of gaiety and a staff who "just couldn't be nicer" might be masking a culture that really doesn't take top-notch performance and expertise very seriously. I'm through with Gainesville Dental Associates and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Even one star is one star too many. read more

This review is based on an emergency visit and a routine cleaning as a first time patient. This place is a well oiled machine- and I mean that in the best way possible. The people are friendly, the staff work as a team. And they are knowledgeable. I broke a tooth and Dr. Quiggins got me in last minute. The entire experience was as good as it gets. The cracked tooth appointments were both easy. They told me everything they were doing and why. They told me what to expect, pain-wise, in between the visits. The billing was correct. The routine checkup was very professional and high tech. I liked my hygienist/dental assistant (Holly?) and Quiggins was her friendly perky self. This was my first time with Gainesville Dental Associates and they were incredible! I had Assistant Rona and Dr Batra. Both were two incredible professionals in their field of work! Both Rona and Dr. Batra took the time to ensure my appointment went well, i had major dental problems that I neglected and i didnt feel any judgement from them or their staff! We've discussed my needs and they met every single one, I came in for a huge hole in one of my molars, and Rona and Dr Batra didnt flinch at a three hour procedure that was unplanned or expected. Time flew by. I didnt realize how long i was there, it felt like an hour. Can't say enough great things about my first visit. For the first time in my life im looking forward to visiting my dentist. I brought my father in law in for his appointment since he was going to be placed under general anesthesia. I thought the facility was average and for the most part good dentists except for the one we had, I believe her name was Monisha Batra. This "dentist" was probably the worst dentist I have ever met. I found her to be rude and overall a spoiled brat. People these days use the term doctor very loosely. I have three actual doctors in my family and their bedside manner is not even comparable to what I witnessed. She really needs to find another occupation. It's really a shame they let people like her practice any form of healthcare....so disappointed... read more

I recently finished my Invisalign and I could not be happier:) It's very nice coming to a place like this and dealing with such friendly professionals. I was a patient at this dental office for about 18 years. An established patient that came in for routine cleanings and dental work and lived about 20 mins away. This past June, I get a call from their office indicating I owe them $1100 from services Dec 2019. Almost 3 years ago! I called my insurance who confirmed they did file the claim, but did not respond when the insurance company had a couple of follow up questions. Then it appears it sat, tucked away in someone's drawer until this past June 2022 when the dental office called me. Unfortunately, for my insurance company, you only have 12 months from the date of service to file a claim and process. So in June 2022, we are years over that window and leaves me in a very difficult position. Had they contacted me in a reasonable period of time, (days, weeks, or even months) I could have partnered with them, called my insurance company, and got the resolution they were looking for. However, since Dec 2019, I did not receive one call, not one email, not one letter in the mail, not one text message, not one verbal communication in all the trips I made in the office, there was a pending claim. Now, almost 3 years later, it appears someone in the office found this neglected claim and they are now trying to recoup their losses through me. Services that I believe would have been covered under my insurance plan had they contacted me in a reasonable amount of time. However, like they did not respond to my insurance company, they made no effort to contact me in almost 3 years. I am elevating this issue and will most likley take legal action if necessary. This is very unethical business practices. We are not talking about a couple of dollars, we are talking about $1100. I would stay away from this practice as it's all about the money and from my experience, their customer service is very poor and obviously whomever handles insurance claims needs additional training as well. It's a shame as I did really liked my dentist and felt comfortable there, but this whole thing is so unethical and should have been handled differently. read more

i spent 6 hours trying to confirm my childs active coverage under my name. i thought that the problem was on my end, that i used an old card or even messed up the numbers. i confirmed my appointment through Zoc Doc, and was called 2 and a half hours later to confirm our insurance ahead of time. this was very appealing and we immediately discussed the insurance. i was called back moments later because i perhaps misplaced some numbers....and i did. Everything was then confirmed and repeated, all numbers were EXACT. another positive experience. 40 minutes after this....i get 2 missed calls so i call BACK to the office. She cannot verify my daughter is on the insurance plan. I am baffled but assure her i will call my HR desk and insurance holder. I call both desks and BOTH verify both my husband and daughter are ACTIVE. prior to calling my insurance number, i must input my subscriber ID and birthdate....i tried my daughters first and she could not be found. I then placed my own (as i aam the provider) and it was confirmed and continued to pass me to a representative. They confirmed for me she was aabsolutely active!!!! I called (i kept interuppting my work hours) AGAIN and have been very pleasant each time. I apologized for the abundant calls and the fact they even called me by name due to the fact I JUST KEPT CALLING BACK. i assured her my daughter was on the plan. "Maria" or "Marcia" or whatever her name may be.....put me on hold....she brought me back to listen to her call my insurance holder. this was at first reassuring. She dialed my daughters number in and blurted into the phone in a condescending tone "see she is not on your plan" i told her it could be because she was putting a dependents birth date in when i am the one who is providing for my dependents through my employer. She snapped back....She had originally told me she only needed my information rather than my daughter since i am the parent.....but she was dialing my daughters birthdate in and not even trying to contact a representative like i had done 3 times...... she proved to me she doesnt actually properly evaluate someones insurances. I was so upset i dont believe i even trust her to deal with anything if this is too hard for her. the dentists are probably amazing and idk about anything else....but the receptionist is nasty and plays games. i wasted my whole day on this, just for her to put me on speaker and finally hear she has no idea what shes doing. didnt even talk to a representative?????? definitely a nono read more

Dr Faline Davenport has renewed my faith in the dentist profession. I had a very bad experience almost 20 years ago which had made my visits to the dentist not so good. In fact if the word Dentist came up I would immediately break into a sweat. I recently had to have a tooth extracted. Dr. Davenport was on call the weekend afterwards. I finally gave in and called on a Sunday bc the pain was so intense. I can't even begin to describe the comfort and trust I gained in Dr Davenport and her staff. She has been the best dentist I have ever had the experience of meeting. How many dentist will numb you before the exam bc you are hurting so bad? I will be better in keeping my appointments so I won't have to have another tooth extracted. I know I won't have quite the same anxiety when I go back or at least I hope!!! read more

When I called to try to get an emergency visit here, the dentist on duty told me that they are only emergency dentists for those who are already in their practice. Then I would suggest that they not put this in their advertisement, "If you have a dental emergency in Prince William County of Fauquier County, contact us today to help." I left this dentist a few years ago when they kept pushing me that I needed FOUR crowns. They even called me several times trying to convince me even just to get one or two. I changed to a new dentist who was highly recommended and she confirmed that I absolutely do not need crowns at all. In fact, I had my second check up with her and was reminded again why I left this other one. I am so thankful I didn't let them talk me into such a costly and unnecessary expense! read more

I'm not very happy with my experience at GDA. I saw Dr. Batra for a routine exam in April where she told me I would need a root canal or an extraction for mild tooth pain (hold up, WHAT?). After she made me schedule an unnecessary and very expensive appointment with a root canal specialist, they were finally convinced that I didn't need a root canal/ or extraction and I just bruised my nerve. Their solution? A $700 mouth guard. I haven't received a single bill via mail but was given a very rude voice mail in August that I "ignored" payments. I wasn't given a statement or bill since my last appointment. I called billing to get it handled and they were very rude. All in all, the doctors and billing staff are very rude and are either ignorant or refuse to care about their patients. I was happy with the cleanliness of the office and the dental hygienists. read more

They are extremely rough they have cut my mom tongue and acted like it was completely fine and normal and just stitched her up like nothing happened. I am now a former long term client of GDA. I had been a patient for over 15 years but after today will never go back. They are dubious as to keeping appointments running on time and have some very rude staff. Too bad, I loved my actual dentist but it was always a fight to try and see her every 6 months given their "whoever-is available" system of completing your exam. I highly recommend Dr. Batra! My filling came out and she gave me an appointment right away. She was able to quickly fix it perfectly! She was so friendly, gentle and kept making sure I was doing ok along the way. Her assistant, Rona was also wonderful and so personable. Both Dr. Batra and Rona made me feel very comfortable and safe, they changed their gloves numerous times, had multiple masks on and the equipment was covered and so clean. I had an appointment to get my wisdom teeth taken out, and I show up to learn that apparently I was taken off the schedule and couldn't be seen. I asked for a copy of my x-rays so I could go somewhere else, and she literally printed it out on a piece of paper. She refused to put it on a CD so I could take them elsewhere. I will never go back. They are overpriced, unsympathetic and completely unprofessional. read more

My mom and I saw Dr. Monisha Batra because my mom came in with severe pain on her right side. The doctor came in and didn't even introduce herself. She started the exam and didn't even put glasses on my moms eyes. She just had her light in her face. She first asked if she had ever had a root canal and my mom replied "yes" and she said the course of action was a root canal and then a crown. But then she said she needed an extraction. So then the doctor very up front asked us "So do you have dental insurance or?" I was VERY offended. Whenever I have gone to offices in the past the front desk team comes in and asks all insurance questions. The doctor does not do so. Then she was very overbooked because it took her 3 hours to figure out that she wasn't going to get numb because of the infection and that she had to take antibiotics before the extraction. I was so upset with the service the doctor provided. The front desk team and her dental assistant were great. I will not be returning and we just wasted our time. read more

Another issue is they are never on time. I always arrive at least 10 minutes early and they end up being at least 20 mins late. We have been going here for several years. In the beginning we were very excited to find a place where our entire family can go. They were great with the kids and the doctors listened to concerns and answered questions. In the last 18 months or so our favorite dentist and hygenists have left the office. Recently I took my kids in for their 6 month checkup. The hygenist was nice but the dentist was irritating. My son had his first cavity (7yrs old) and the dentist just kept going on and on about how it was due to his diet. I tried to clarify some medical stuff since he obviously didn't bother to look at his chart but he continued on about it being his diet. Then he took a quick look in my sons mouth. The doctors used to do a more thorough exam on the kids. I'm not sure if he even looked at where the cavity is. I also had a couple simple questions for the dentist and he wouldn't answer me. He just kept telling me I needed to ask the pediatric specialist. Or, in other words, I would need to schedule another appointment and pay more money. These were simple questions that any dentist should have been able to answer. I think it is great that Gainesville Dental Associates is going to open a pediatric office next door. However, I do not want to switch to a pediatric office. If I wanted to take my kids to a pediatric dentist then I would have taken them to the one down the street. After this last appointment I basically feel as if we are being forced to take the kids to the new pediatric office or find another dentist. I think we are going to start looking for another office. read more

This review should really be 5 stars, but I gave it 4 because I have a few issues. First, let me say that the dentists/dental assistants/and staff are some of the best I've ever dealt with. They are very caring and non-judgmental (which was a concern of mine as I had been negligent with my dental work for a few years). My teeth are now better than ever, and I regularly return for cleaning with a smile on my face. As for the negative that caused me to drop my review to 4 stars, it mainly has to deal with the insurance process. I was told my last cleaning was free because my insurance covers cleanings. However, I soon received a bill from Dental Associates for $50 to cover the cleaning. Apparently, they treated my teeth with fluoride and this treatment was not covered by my insurance. It would have been nice if they had informed me of this before they did it, so I would have the option to accept or refuse. Other than that I think they do great work, short waits, and very clean and professional offices. read more

My fiance went to this office as a new patient several months ago, They did a cleaning. They came up with this long list of things that were needed in addition to the cleaning such as root canal, crowns, deep cleaning etc. Completely blown away by the 2500$ quote so I sent him for a second opinion ( To Haymarket Dental Complete Care). The other dental office took new xrays did a regular cleaning and said his teeth were great. Although he did have a couple "very small" cavities. ended up paying 165$ for the cavity fillings and a deep cleaning. This place is a rip off. read more

Whether it's my cleaning or something else I need to have looked at, I just feel so comfortable at this office. They know you by name and they treat you like family! My husband even started coming here last year 2013 and he HATES dentists!!! Not anymore!!! He actually has fun and is no longer nervous. I came in for the first time today under an amazing special. I do not have dental insurance and this was very affordable. The receptionist was very friendly and it was a breeze to book. They have appointments as late as 7pm on weeknights. When I arrived, all receptionists at the desk were kind and cheerful. I went back with a technician who immediately put me at ease and was fun to talk with! Then, the dentist came in immediately and did a quick check. He was also super friendly. I would say the best part was Sarah who cleaned my teeth. Normally teeth cleaning is the worst part. I loved talking with her and it actually made me want to go to the dentist. Finally, check out was a breeze. I 100% recommend this place. Other family members of mine have gone and loved it! read more

I would highly recommend Gainesville Dental Associates, especially Dr. Davenport and Teresa. I recently had some major dental work done and all aspects of it from start to finish exceeded my expectations. Dr. Davenport discussed with me my options on what I could have done to improve the appearance of my smile (I had significant erosion and discoloration). They worked with my insurance company and told me exactly what to expect cost-wise upfront. During the appointments, Dr. Davenport and Teresa were very professional and really went the extra steps to make sure that their work was top-notch. The before and after photos of my teeth look like two completely different smiles. This office is very clean, technologically advanced (their records are all computerized), and they are very deserving of all of their "Best of" awards. read more

My 13 year old needed 4 baby teeth pulled. Her anxiety level was off the chart. All because of an episode on iCarly!!! Nini, the hygienist, was wonderful! She was so sweet to my girl, made her feel comfortable, explained what all they were going to do and how it would feel, but most of all she treated her like her own child. Dr. Kevin Bunin was excellent as well. He made sure she was comfortable and within 10 minutes, they were done. My daughter couldn't believe it. This is the BEST DENTIST OFFICE EVER!!!!!! I've been coming here for 15 years and NEVER had bad service or treatment. I recommend the dental group to anyone who's in need of any dentistry.
