My son has been raving about these tacos ... so we had to stop! Can't believe they have been here for so long and we've never been here! We got wings, tacos and empanadas. The tacos come with a rough pico in a corn tortilla ... served with quac, sour cream and homemade sauce. Authentic, tasty, and generous. Not the best I've ever had, but still excellent! Wings were supposed to be Jamaican jerk - these were not that, but did have a super flavorful Caribbean bbq sauce! Decent sized as well. The empanadas were nice sized and flavorful ... curious if they are homemade or premade. Came with the same sauces as the tacos plus a bowl of rice and beans. Overall an excellent meal! To start off, I came in here super rushed, I had about 15 minutes before I had to get back to class which is about a 10 minute drive, so I came in and simply asked how long it'd take to get their lunch special " 2 slices of cheese and a can of soda" for less than $5. The guy behind the counter had a sense of humor and stated "about 2 months" which was pretty funny, but realistically this was the fastest service I have had at any restaurant. The vibe this guy gives his customers is very friendly, I wish I had the time to sit down and enjoy this pizza as the pizza was top quality! I loved everything from the sauce, crust and toppings. Friendly staff. Quick. I was doing the Green bikeloop around Harrisburg and made a stop. There is no outside seating per se, but I just sat outside in the shade, and it was fine. I had a chicken burrito with rice and beans. It does come with delicious pickled jalapeños inside! The burrito also comes with sour cream, a very nice redish salsa, and guacamole. Wow. Almost missed the place because it's small, but glad I didn't. Super friendly what I assume was the owner. I ordered buffalo chicken wrap which was good. But the fries that I asked for extra crispy were done perfect. Basic pizza shop decor with paper napkins and food served in plastic trays, but that's what I expected. On a return home trip from MA to TN in one long day of driving. Stopped to eat dinner and feasted on salad with baked ziti and meatballs along with delicious garlic bread. I have been a Gabriel's customer for about three years. It's a friendly neighborhood place that actually has the best pizza I've found n Harrisburg. But when I went in tonight to pick up my order I was shocked to discover I was the only person in the place that wore a mask. These folks have been operating this whole time like this? And indoor dining going on as well. I cannot really comprehend how you would think that in the food service industry this would be acceptable during a pandemic. Ordered the "grilled steak salad". I don't know if they water down their dressing or if they just have a bad supplier but the ranch was thin, watery and lacking any flavor. The "grilled steak" was more like a sirloin patty from a TV dinner than anything that resembles steak. This was very disappointing and the only reason this did not get a lower rating is because the lettuce was decent quality romaine and the tomatoes also seemed fresh. read more

I don't even know where to begin my rave about how great Gabriel's is. The pizza is definitely really good, with tasty sauce and crust. My favorite, though, are the "Mexican Perogies," which are actually empanadas. Not just any empanadas, but fabulous, crispy, perfectly beefy filled and spiced empanadas! They come with guacamole, sour cream, some amazing sauce (I have no idea what's in it, but it is delicious!) and small sides of rice & beans. My husband had the Chicken Cheesesteak Hoagie and really enjoyed it a lot. Now I'm eager to try more of the Mexican items on their menu, but I love the empanadas/perogies so much that I may have trouble ordering anything else. Went here during all the flooding as it was one of the only places open in the downtown, north downtown area. Ordered a thin crust meat lover's large pizza and an order of fries and waited for the order to take home. We were plesantly suprized and will go back. Fries were perfect and pizza was excellent. It tasted similar to Brother's Pizza off 3rd and Reilly if you are familiar with them. Take out or delivery is the only way to go. It's not very nice on the inside and not really set up for folks to eat there although there are tables. They should redecorate, however, I know that's not an inexpensive venture. I have ordered delivery from here twice within the last month. The first time, they forgot my breadsticks, and had to go back and get them. When they arrived, they were cold and rock hard. Today I ordered a pizza with bacon, hamburger, and black olives. The pizza showed up warm and in a decent amount of time, but the odd thing was that the hamburger was taco flavored. I understand they also make Mexican food there, but that was not expected and frankly it was not good. I wish I had been told if the only hamburger option was taco meat. Not many delivery options exist in Harrisburg, so I took to Facebook to get some new recommendations. Someone suggested Gabriel's, which speaks to wide audience since they have both pizza and Mexican food, which is perfect for a couple in disagreement (like ourselves). However, we both opted for the Mexican options with a veggie burrito and chicken tacos. We were greatly surprised at the value for the food and the amount of food you get. We just ordered lunch delivery here and got the fettuccine dinners, one chicken and one seafood. The seafood of shrimp & scallops were huge and smothered with a thick rich fettuccine sauce. Absolutely despicable customer service!!! If you don't believe me, give the older gentleman in there a food complaint as I legitimately had and I'm quite sure he's going to "give you the business" and I'm not talking about the pizza shop. I ordered two slices of mushroom pizza and they both were the size of one of those Celeste pizzas I use to get from the grocery back in the day for 99 cents. With that and a order of fries it came to $8 and some change. I asked if that's two slices of pizza because they're so small. He said yes it's a small pizza cut in half. I said well it looks really small. He immediately grabbed the pizza back and told me to go elsewhere. I'm actually a regular customer there and not because the food is great, In fact it's just average. The best pizza in the area is Santos on Linglestown and Giovanni's at the uptown shopping center. I left and went to Brothers on Division and my wife said her food was good. It was actually two dollars cheaper also. I stopped back at gables on the way home to show them what two slices normally looks like. He said "that's because he uses real cheeses and ingredients." (Really) Then he accused me of trying to get free food, which I've never done in fact there the ones with the tip jar on the counter that says tipping is not a city in China. I will not use them again and my advice for others is to get Digiornos instead read more

They have good bread so that makes for good subs. Their cheeseburger sub could use some more burger. They have good pizza, add bacon...delicious. They also are the only pizza place I can find that will deliver to Fishing Creek Valley Rd. I eat here once a week for lunch and order family food once or twice a month.
