Expecting a diner, BAB's had the feel of a nice tea room. A very pleasant surprise…read more We both ordered Eggs Benedict with salmon, and coffee. Food was ok although the salmon had a strong taste that neither of us especially cared for. The main reason for my 2 star review was our server. She was an older, grey haired woman who seemed annoyed with us from the moment she came over. She never came back to see if we liked our food or wanted anything else. We even had to ask her to clear away the dishes of the previous people who had sat at our table. At the same time, we watched the other servers checking back with their tables. Finally, when our server brought out our identical meals, they were very different. One plate had noticeably more sauce, potatoes, and grapes. If the same dish is going to 2 people at the same table, the plates should both have pretty much the same amount of food

It was well-cooked, tasty and the extras on it (onion rings, candied maple bacon, lettuce, jalapeños and garlic aioli) made it great. The fries were equally good - fresh and crispy. The waitress came back to tell us that they were all out of potatoes so we would have to order something else. We both decided to substitute a Caesar Salad. Our food came...steak was a bit dry and tasteless, salad was decent. Our bill came and I noticed that we were charged $1.25 each for substituting the salad. I did not think that was right since it was not our fault they were out of potatoes. I brought it up to the waitress, fully expecting it was an oversight and she would correct it. Her response to me was that she asked the manager and they had to charge us that, otherwise the chef would be pissed off. (????) I have never heard of a restaurant policy where the Chef's satisfaction is more important than the customers, but apparently, that is the policy here.
