Vienna has innumerable pocket parks throughout the city. Each park is named in memory of a Viennese individual who achieved something notable or contributed to the welfare of the citizens of Vienna. Gabriele-Possanner-Park on Zimmermanplatz in Alsergrund is a perfect example of this. This peaceful little park was named after the first woman to matriculate as a doctor at the University of Vienna Medical School. It is known for its sculpture installation called 'Garten mit Brunnen' (Garden with Well) by Austrian artist Ines Lombardi.
