The location is a bit unusual, Gabby's cafe is located inside a furniture store. I stopped there on my way from the airport. They have coffee and non-coffee drinks and some pastries/bagels. It kind of threw me off when I read in the reviews that it was placed in a furniture shop, but I didn't care so much when we arrived. It's adorable. The barista was very welcoming and friendly, chatty but not in that overbearing way some people have. It's really too bad I'm not from Grand Rapids, otherwise that would be a weekly stop. I ordered light roast Ethiopian pour over and later, a rose steamer with oat milk. The coffee is good. Not exceptionally so, but just sit down, make yerself at home good. I loved the steamer as well. I recommend Uncommon Grounds to all. read more

This has been my new favorite coffee spot. The coffee is delicious. The staff is always so friendly. The prices are decent. I actually enjoy that the coffee shop is in a furniture store because you are always sitting on a nice piece of furniture and the setting also gets switched out often. The place is always neat and clean and they obviously always have a cute setting. The furniture store staff does not bother you either; they let you get your coffee, enjoy it, & leave (I'm referring to other furniture stores where the staff swarms you the second that you walk in the door and never leaves you alone; I was a little worried about the coffee shop being in the store for this reason). They also have a cute little fireplace to sit by. The bagels are super cheap and good here. I really cannot say anything but good things about this place. read more

My sister and I had a great experience this morning at Uncommon Grounds. They had later opening hours than usual due to New Years holiday (totally reasonable). We arrived at 9:45 not knowing if they'd be open, and they didn't open until 11, but an employee was there getting the shop ready and let us order anyway. We both got oat milk cappuccinos and I ordered the green smoothie. The smoothie was a much prettier shade of green than most! The first sip of my cappuccino was a little bitter/harsh, but it got smoother with every sip. The sizes here are really big (comparable to Starbucks sizing), so I will probably just get a small instead of medium next time. They do list the ounces of each size, which is awesome, I just wasn't paying attention! In addition to the staff being super friendly, professional, and helpful, the merchandise and seating is super adorable. I bought a porcelain mug that says "A little less conversation -Elvis". It's very clean and the employees was wearing a mask even before we walked in. There is plenty of parking out front and an added bonus is that you can browse cute furniture while you wait for your coffee. I will definitely be back to support this business! read more

Very cute, small coffee shop located inside of Talsma furniture store! When we first walked in, I was a bit confused because the coffee shop just seemed like part of the store. However, there are some book shelves separating the seating area from the store. The seating area consists of a leather couch, 4 armchairs, a larger table for 4, and 3 smaller tables that seat 2 people. The coffee shop is along the front window which makes up the entire wall, so there's lots of natural light coming in.....and it's useful for checking out the weather! I felt very cozy between the fake fireplace & big window, but was not happy to look down & see dead bugs all along the window sill. On the other hand, I was impressed with their menu: all kinds of coffee drinks, loose leaf tea, smoothies, juices, and pastries. I had the hot ginger: lemon & ginger juiced & mixed with hot water! I added some honey for sweetness. It was very tart, but delicious! A good cleansing drink! My husband had the hot chocolate which was creamy & not too sweet! We were at the shop from 5-6pm and were the only ones there! It was very quiet and therefore a great place to study! The barista was very friendly & helpful with describing the drinks! She did mention that they are busiest in the late afternoon and that evenings tend to be quiet! If you're looking to take some coffee home, they do roast their own beans & sell them along with coffee mugs, tea, candles, and other small gifts. read more

Very cute coffee shop with lots of options of expresso drinks, smoothies, and tea. The shop is inside the furniture store and there's a nice seating area with tables along the window for work or a quick bite. Staff is attentive and very nice, there's a huge parking lot so you don't have to look for street parking. Will definitely come back and try other drinks! read more

This is my new favorite hidden coffee shop. It's inside Talsma Lifestyles building. Free wifi. It's quiet so I can get reading or studying done, and it's never busy so I can pick which table I want. Prices are very reasonable. They have almond, coconut, cashew, and soy milk available. All unsweetened. No up-charge for them too. They can even add some to a smoothie. read more

They even have books there to read if you don't have one of your own with you. In the hustle and bustle of my busy days, sometimes it's nice to just stop and enjoy the moment. While this is a cool little out of the way place, I hate to say that the coffee was substandard at best. Bought an Americano and it was clear that the beans were stale. For a place that has "roaster" in the name, this really surprised me. The stale after-taste was pronounced and made it very difficult for me to drink the coffee. Maybe it was just an off day, but I'm pretty particular about my espresso. I travel a lot for work, so in each city I try to find local roasters that specialize in making a quality espresso. This the first not great review I've ever given and I feel terrible, but I really appreciate honest yelp reviews so here goes: the coffee was really weak, very little flavor. I had both a pour over and a French press (was there for a few hours doing work). Usually pour over and French press are flavorful. These were weak. if you're a remote worker who tries to find a seat at a coffee shop with good wifi, this place may be your best kept secret. Plenty of seating, good coffee and other beverages, they even have bubble tea. Parking is a nonissue. You can also pick up a pound of good quality, MI locally roasted beans for home. read more

We originally had their coffee staying at the Harbor Grand in New Buffalo, and loved it so much when we were in Saugatuck the next day we had to buy some!
