With a small patio at the front, Poor Romeo is a haven for those who love direct sunlight. Maybe it…read morewas how the sun was hitting the restaurant on our July visit, but even with all the umbrellas up there wasn't an ounce of shade. Not wanting to roast, we safely seconded ourselves inside. Here I was greeted with a chill bar environment with tables so crammed together that it'd be a Tetris feat to get yourself into a chair if someone was sitting behind you. Luckily, it wasn't busy on a Friday afternoon, so I jimmied myself into a highchair and settled down with a Gin Lizzy ($15). It's a good first drink since it essentially tastes like a sparkling berry lemonade. The rhubarb reduction and lime make it go down so easy that you must remind yourself it's not juice given it contains gin and prosecco. Personally, even with a refreshing cocktail, I like them tasting stiffer. The El Diablo ($15) hit the spot as the tequila was pronounced but mellowed with black berry concentrate and lime. The ginger beer helped to add a twinge of spiciness and bubbles. This was a favourite amongst our table. A couple of nibbles tied us over until dinner. The queso & chips ($12) arrived with plenty of warm crispy tortillas that were seasoned making them nice to munch on solo or with a sprinkling of finely diced pico de gallo. The queso was a great consistency coating the chip without being too thick and was perfectly seasoned so that it was flavourful without being overly salty. The wild zero wings ($16 for a lb) were hot and juicy, tossed in an apricot glaze that gave the wings a sweet and savoury element, sort of like a Thai sauce but not quite as syrupy. And if they weren't saucy enough, a generous portion of creamy dill arrives as well. Poor Romeo is a great place for a quick drink with nibbles or a casual date. And if you're in the area for an after-meal tipple, their version of an espresso martini is the Night Flight ($16). It certainly tasted of coffee, from a coffee reduction and Jägermeister cold brew, but mellowed out with vodka and a bit of creaminess from the Tia Maria.

We went on a weekday evening, so it was pretty quiet. The wooden tables and seating added a more laid-back vibe. The Chicken Karaage was good - big chunks of chicken and crispy. Drinks were good too with a reasonable price. Service was amazing. The hostess was very sweet. Overall it's a nice place to chill if you don't mind the super laid-back vibe. Got it, I lowered my expectations and found both drinkable but diluted the margarita to combat its excessive sugariness. If anything, their menu was the perfect hearty base before a night of drinking. Having shared two of their sandwiches, the smashed burger ($21) was a hit. The potato bun was topped with two generous sized beef patties that are a little thick for a smashed burger but still had a nice crust. I liked that there was plenty of fixings including lettuce, tomato, cheese, caramelized onion, pickles, and a house sauce to give it interest. This was a tasty burger. Meanwhile, the potato bun disintegrated with the Korean fried chicken sando ($21) making it difficult to eat. Still, the chicken breast was hot and juicy with plenty of breading to give it a crunchy bite. But despite the liberal smear of gochujang mayo, it wasn't overly spicy and needed more heat. Adding some lettuce with the pickles may also help create a barrier between the bun and sauce to ensure the bread can hold up better. Maybe Rorschach's supplier gave them a bushel of the tiny potatoes, but their fries were cut so small... it's like eating Hickory sticks in fry form. You'd think a smaller fry means more crispy edges, but we just found they were really dried out. Rorschach Brewing Co's dining room is surprisingly spacious with picnic tables scattered throughout to accommodate varying sized tables. They were understaffed for a Friday, but the two servers did their best and made sure our large table was served and out in time for the concert. Perhaps they even breathed a sigh of relief once we vacated. So long loud ladies, we can go back to swigging beers.

The people are knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions you may have about their selection of beer. I sampled a couple of their beers before getting a pint of their Ice Cold Beer which has become my all time favourite. You can also do a flight of beers where you can try many of their great tasting beers on tap. Seating is available at the bar area and in the main space as well. Unfortunately this location does not serve food but you are more than welcome to order food in. Left Field has a fan club where you can sign up for free and collect points. Recently updated, you can now redeem for merchandise and beer. They also offer a birthday reward as well as long as you provide your info when signing up. Overall, this place always has good vibes and has become one of my fave spots for a beer and a good chat. Beer is available on tap and for grab n go. Shoutout to Alex, Pam and Mike! You guys are awesome and so is the beer! Cheers!

Although it's not as packed these days, the brewery still holds its classic charm. There's always a great crowd especially during baseball season! One of my favorite things about their beers is that they're available in small cans... Which is perfect "snack"! Even though their beers are available at LCBO these days, it's still a great time coming by the brewery and trying new things, and hanging out with good people.
